- So, there's a new character in Despicable Me 4, Poppy, and the theories about her are getting wild. In the trailer, we find out she's a big fan of Gru and wants to be a villain like him. But where does she fit into the story? Some folks think she could be related to Lucy. I mean, they do look alike with similar facial features and hair. Then there's the idea that she might be Vector's secret daughter, aiming to use Gru to get back to Mars and free her dad. But here's the really crazy one: Remember that scene in the first movie at the orphanage? Yeah, keep your eyes peeled because there's a girl peeking out of the box of shame. Now, this might sound out there, but what if that girl was Poppy all along, plotting revenge on Gru for not adopting her back then? Wild, right?

Doesn't really matter if they grew up or not, the biggest issue would be that by the time Despicable Me came out they probably planned Despicable Me 2, but not 3 and 4.
Meaning that regardless of the girls growing or not it's impossible she's the girl in the orphanage for the simple reason creators didn't think that far ahead.
Gru with a side kick could work out, and her maybe being vectors daughter could make for a huge comeback!

I actually thought that Poppy and Lucy are related because they have the same ginger hair color, when the movie comes out, l feel like Poppy is going to be another part of Gru’s family, think about Gru’s family has 4 kids now, and Lucy and Poppy might be related and be a new part of the family

Poppy's basically a regular rich kid other than the fact that she wants to be a villain, there's nothing really crazy about her haha

I mean she could be related to Lucy or she could be related to someone from the earlier movies or maybe she’s just another random character idk. But the other theories, I don’t think it could be vectors “daughter” I think Vector is too young or basically ain’t no way that man got laid. It’s definitely not penny from the first movie, that means she would have been the same age or same height as Gru’s daughters or something like that. Idk I could be wrong but these are just my opinions :)

You should also mention the reasoning why Scarlet and her bf look old. In the Minion movie, at the end of the movie, they were probably in their 20's. But at the end of the movie, you see gru is actually a kid when he took them down. The villans he took down were when he was an adult.
Poppy never wanted revenge on gru, she just wanted him to do a heist with her
The last theory makes 0 sense. Our main three girls never grew up/age so what makes you think the girl in the box did? Also, Poppy looks like she’s OLDER than Margo like she’s in her 20’s to early 30’s, maybe even 18 or 19. The girl in the box (named PENNY someone mentioned) could be around Anges’ age based on the size of her box which mean, that theory doesn't add up.
Vector is in the end of despicable me 4 so he is back from mars
it still would suck if shes vectors daughter but no vector in the movie coming back for revenge all he got was mooned guy deserves best

For those who wondering why he said mars instead of moon, spoiler alert!!!
At the End, vector and the minions get crashed and landed on Mars. Vector has to think but minions are so smart that they asked an alien to get them home, leaving vector behind in mars.
The short film is "Mooned" which takes place after Despicable Me 1

There was a short film named *mooned* right after despicable me 1 where minions crash land on the moon and they end up on Mars with vector and the minions leave vector behind on mars

1. The girl in the box is named penny so it can’t be poppy
2.they both have different eye colors if you look closely poppy is blue and penny is brown
3. Even if it is poppy the rest of them would have already been grown up
