@@Lukewarm111 Exactly. I ignore lyrics because I just don't have the energy to digest every songs lyrics, it's meaning and so on. I'm just happy with how a song makes me feel.
@@rjmario2234 From what I've gathered from listening to this record for the last 4+ years is that Jacob Bannon is constantly repeating variations of "Dear I'll stay gold, forever gold." And honestly I think that fits this song really well because this feels like the sensation you get when you're so emotional that whatever you're trying to say (the printed lyrics for Concubine, for example), gets lost in translation because you're so angry/depressed/dejected/etc.
Dear, I'll stay gold just to keep these pasts at bay To keep the loneliest of nights from claiming you and to keep these longest of days from waking you For I felt the greatest of winters coming and I saw you as seasons shifting from blue to grey That's where the coldest of these days await me and distance lays her heavy head beside me There I'll stay gold, forever gold
@@septicwomb4394 If I remember correctly, the lyrics weren't written until after all the vocals had been recorded - they're essentially what Bannon wanted to or was trying to say, whereas the album's vocals are what "just came out." Most of the songs have some resemblance to the lyrics sheet, but Hell to Pay is the only one that's entirely faithful and both Concubine and Phoenix in Flames are completely inaccurate.
