A blow like that with a warhammer to the side of the rib cage without any armor or something like it would definitely cause abby to at least stop fighting in that moment and eventually die because of bone fractures which are likely to damage the lung causing it to collapse and even without that she would have dealt with some kind of internal bleeding and the pain and shock... But its tlou part 2 so I am not surprised about any kind of bad writing or logic flaws
