  • Time base is important for the communication of parts in a computer, and in the Atari Video Computer System it would also synchronize with a television. The Atari is a classic computer used both for games and work and is loved by many. We show you the inside components of an Atari and do a basic explanation in order to support our larger program of educating the viewer about time measurement in technology. The Universe of Instrumentation Program was originally supported by the IEEE and continues to operate with new material. The focus is on tools used by engineers. While the Atari is a vintage video game system, it also was loved by engineers, and used by engineers for handling work tasks. 128 bytes of RAM, 8 bit, came out in 1980 and production continued until 1982. It was in competition with a IBM DOS 1.0 Intel 8088 4.77MHz machine that was much more expensive.
