As usual, Sarah, so much prettiness, and your finishes are wonderful. Your linen napkin with the little bird is so cute. That soluble stuff is interesting; I’ve only used waste canvas. Percy is not pleased with the idea that people will be wiping their faces and hands on his bird relatives. He’s in his room moping now. The floss box from Stan is spectacular!!!!! So beautiful. I agree with the other commenter who said you don’t need interfacing on the back of your napkins. There are so many vintage linens with beautiful stitching on them that survive in tact. Just gentle washing after use. You made me tear up when you showed the acorn and needle book. ❤ yes, the acorn cap is real and yes, those are petite needles. I hope you enjoy using them. I have them show up on many other people's shows, but never on yours. I know nothing about how technology works with floss tube, but I'm now thinking those ads are geared toward us individually on what we click on to Google or research; maybe even orders we've placed. I bet there's some "algorithm" for that... People always use that word on utube and it sounds so intelligent. Lol Anyway, I always look forward to watching you and seeing your progress. It is a wonderful piece and I know you will love every stitch. A word of caution: Pay very close attention to that border. I thought I had "proofed" my piece before sending it to the framer, only to get a phone call that I had missed one stitch....arrggh! Your backs always look beautiful so no! I wouldn’t put interfacing on them. Napkins are designed to be used and most of us press them if we’re having company. I am privileged to have my Grandma’s beautifully stitched napkins. My mother kept them in a drawer and-they were never used by my family…when they came into my home I decided to use them for our Sunday dinner and now 20 years later they still make me smile!

I use FS101 to back quilting fabric so I can embroider on the fabric without using a hoop. Hugs

Your little guy is sooooo cute. Happy 1st Birthday to him. The shares from everyone are beautiful and it’s so fun seeing them. Back in the day I stitched bread cloths on 14 count fabric that was made specifically for that. I still have them and I took a look at the backs of them to see how the stitching held up. I did use them back then and they have been washed. I didn’t put anything over the stitching to protect them and they are fine. I use them now for decoration. Obviously they weren’t washed a lot but the stitching looks fine. I also used waste canvas back in the day to stitch holiday designs on t shirts. I just checked those and I did use interfacing to give support to the t-shirt fabric and I had stitched through the interfacing as I stitched the pattern. It looks like I used any old interfacing. The stitches weren’t protected and the shirts have been washed multiple times as I still wear them. So anyway, that’s what I have done. Your blue floss that you showed toward the end of your video is beautiful. Blue is my favorite color and I love the one you picked. And lastly, the piece of furniture to store your floss in that Stan made it gorgeous. I wish I had room for something like that. I’m looking forward to your next video. Have a great week.

Back in the day, I did a sweatshirt and I remember putting the interfacing on first and that sweatshirt held up nicely. I think the general consensus is to leave off the interfacing on the napkins. @@SarahsStitchySpot I agree with leaving the interfacing off the napkins. My bread cloths washed up nicely with no interfacing. I think clothing needs it more because it’s against your body while wearing it and gets washed more if you wear it all the time. Glad you got the advice you needed.

I stitched napkins, bread covers and tea towels many years ago. I never put knots but made sure that my stitches were tucked well at each end of the thread. They've been washed & dried many times, and it actually sets the thread in place. No interfacing is necessary. The cabinet Stan made is just gorgeous and a very happy birthday to little Vince!

Just gentle washing after use.

I wanted to say that I have NEVER had an advertisement interrupt your presentation. I have them show up on many other people's shows, but never on yours. I know nothing about how technology works with floss tube, but I'm now thinking those ads are geared toward us individually on what we click on to Google or research; maybe even orders we've placed. I bet there's some "algorithm" for that... People always use that word on utube and it sounds so intelligent. Lol

It is a wonderful piece and I know you will love every stitch. A word of caution: Pay very close attention to that border. I thought I had "proofed" my piece before sending it to the framer, only to get a phone call that I had missed one stitch....arrggh! Ramona, being a stitcher herself, offered to put in that one stitch for me so the framing process wouldn't be delayed. That was a beautiful gesture and made the piece even more special to me! Your backs always look beautiful so no! I wouldn’t put interfacing on them. Napkins are designed to be used and most of us press them if we’re having company. I am privileged to have my Grandma’s beautifully stitched napkins. My mother kept them in a drawer and-they were never used by my family…when they came into my home I decided to use them for our Sunday dinner and now 20 years later they still make me smile!

Happy Birthday Vincent! I agree, I can't believe it's been a year. Oh my, oh my...your floss storage cabinet is truly a work of art. The grain of wood, craftsmanship, etc. Bravo Stan, bravo! Your finishes are beautiful, always love seeing your creative talents. Regarding backing of your napkin motifs, I only can recommend interfacing FS101, it's light weight. I use FS101 to back quilting fabric so I can embroider on the fabric without using a hoop. Hugs

Your little guy is sooooo cute. Happy 1st Birthday to him. The shares from everyone are beautiful and it’s so fun seeing them. Back in the day I stitched bread cloths on 14 count fabric that was made specifically for that. I still have them and I took a look at the backs of them to see how the stitching held up. I did use them back then and they have been washed. I didn’t put anything over the stitching to protect them and they are fine. I use them now for decoration. Obviously they weren’t washed a lot but the stitching looks fine. I also used waste canvas back in the day to stitch holiday designs on t shirts. I just checked those and I did use interfacing to give support to the t-shirt fabric and I had stitched through the interfacing as I stitched the pattern. It looks like I used any old interfacing. The stitches weren’t protected and the shirts have been washed multiple times as I still wear them. So anyway, that’s what I have done. Your blue floss that you showed toward the end of your video is beautiful. Blue is my favorite color and I love the one you picked. And lastly, the piece of furniture to store your floss in that Stan made it gorgeous. I wish I had room for something like that. I’m looking forward to your next video. Have a great week.

@@SarahsStitchySpot I agree with leaving the interfacing off the napkins. My bread cloths washed up nicely with no interfacing. I think clothing needs it more because it’s against your body while wearing it and gets washed more if you wear it all the time. Glad you got the advice you needed.

I stitched napkins, bread covers and tea towels many years ago. I never put knots but made sure that my stitches were tucked well at each end of the thread. They've been washed & dried many times, and it actually sets the thread in place. No interfacing is necessary. The cabinet Stan made is just gorgeous and a very happy birthday to little Vince!
