This video was really fun and informative. The two of you were so enthusiastic and obviously enjoying each variety of sake and the food pairings. You could be international ambassadors for sake.😃

You are correct IMO Smooth more mild cheeses pair well with Sake.
Sharper-aged cheeses pair well with red wine.

Wading into the world of sake can be intimidating given the variety and the potential language barrier. That's why a website like Tippsy is helpful to learn about sake even if you don't buy from them (although I recommend you do). Another useful website to learn about sake is Urban Sake. The creator of that website also does a podcast called Sake Revolution.

This was absolutely fascinating. Informative and as always, fun!
I have three different sakes which one day I tried together - like a wine tasting. I could taste differences but I didn't think to have them with food! Now I am going to have such fun retrying them out with all the different foods. I can't wait to try the french toast with maple syrup combination! And cheese and onion crisps??? Wow!
(And now I realise I should have tried different temperatures as well.)
I wonder if this will change which sake I like best!
p.s. I hardly ever drink so I have a low tolerance for alcohol. I hope I don't finish up under the table! 🥴
I've never had a hangover in my life. Is this going to be the day??? 😃

I like Sake but the only liquor store we have in Ontario, Canada only really carries the cheap stuff at retail. I'll enjoy that stuff warm in the wintertime. Occasionally they will have the little bottles of nigori. While I prefer drier, it's not bad, even though it looks a bit like, uh... They have other varieties available online, but only in extremely limited stock. I guess because there's not a big Japanese population here, and nobody knows what it is. Shame, because like mead, it's grossly underappreciated.
