My female dog always lifted her leg to mark territory but she loved running the woods so maybe she was weird 😅
I had a spaniel who was totally confused about potty training. I could tell she really wanted to understand what I was trying to teach her so out of frustration I wait till late at night took her in our mostly private backyard and showed her what potty outside meant and she was like..... I GET IT and immediately went along with me. Potty training complete! Now she is only confused by the fact that I do not. Seem to need to potty very often. I still have a communal pee with her sometimes. It makes her happy. It has worked with my last 3 Dogs it works best with dogs that really are focused on trying to learn.
Watched this wating for my car MOT. It wasnt a good plan cos ive belly laughed so many times 😂😂

I never knew why my dog would pee in a handstand 😂 it makes sense now
My 10 year old German Shepherd boy squats to pee always. The only time he lifts his leg is if it's cold in the snow. Even on walks, he just pees on the ground by trees. Not always a squat. Sometimes, he'll stretch out and pee.😊

The whole age thing and moving your body is totally true especially when you are getting older. My parents and my uncle are in there in Mid/Late 60's. They are look so good for their age. My parents could easy look like they are at least in their mid/late 40's. My uncle looks like he is in 50's. My grandpa passed away when he was 90. My grandpa drove until he died literally. He never stopped driving. He never stopped doing what he normally does. He was so sharp and he would remember what my mom was "up to" when she was 20. He kept reading and he had so many national geographic magazines.
I had a shitzu named Fuji (who btw lived until he was 27 years old!... he was a gift to my grandparents once i was born. We were raised together! ❤ he passed 5 years ago just a week after my grandpa passed away which was sadly a month before my birthday... 😔 *i actually received my birthday present from my grandpa in the mail on the day after his burial...🥺💔)
Anyways uhm sorry about that 😅 my dog fuji, from being weaned he was brought up in a household of cats in the country side. He picked up on where the cats do their business and even though he used the potty outside, one day he hopped into the litter box-popped a squat-and peed. And for the next 26-27 years he would only use a littler box! Poo and pee. He always squated! 😂

Neither my male Shi Tzu or male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel lift their legs when they pee. Even when they are out sniffing trees, they end up marking next to the tree by squatting.

Yep, I've seen lots of female dogs lift their legs. And then there are the males that don't. I think it is the learning from other dogs. Dunno.

The fitness part, i am 37 and i am the same i want my body to be able to keep moving…i dont want to get stagnant and not be able to move…so i go to the gym and i am not a fitness goo roo.
My boy (pit boxer mix, 75 pounds) only squats UNLESS he’s marking where a girl dog just peed.
My widdle wiener dog(boy) only squats and only pees once on a walk and NEVER inside 😂 he’s a pretty boy.
