- Using armor stone to build a retaining wall along side our driveway.
Tools used:
Newerish Bobcat
1970's Massey Ferguson MF40 Backhoe
Shovels
Rakes
Tamper
Great video!!
Thanks!
Looks good, a lot better than almost any other diy I’ve seen but my only critiques are I would have liked to see you use proper base, a gas powered plate compactor because it uses vibratory compaction instead of compression compaction like the hand tamper and is much more effective and because of the driveway being there I would have liked to see it dug back a few extra feet and geo grid used between the layers to help hold back the load of vehicles and the driveway itself better, but all in all great work I’m sure this wall will serve its purpose and be something you can be proud of!
Thanks for the suggestions!
You make it look easy like stacking brownies. Thanks for the video. I need a backhoe operator.
Yes, a skid steer makes the work easy!
It's always the prep that takes the most time. Always. Do it right the first time.
Do it right, do it once
Looks amazing! Great job
Thanks!
Great work.
Thanks!
Hi there, great job! Just curious if frost-heave has moved this at all?
Not yet!
Nice wall
Thanks!
how heavy?
About 150 lbs a cubic ft
Other than the forks, any reason you used the skid steer over the tractor/backhoe? Is the skid steer able to lift more?
