The philosophies & concepts in Advaita Vedanta are mind-boggling & at the same time so completely logical.
As an ex-Muslim...and as someone who considers himself an "Agnostic"...I have been very fascinated & inspired by these philosophies in Dharmic faiths.

If you seek long enough and honestly enough, Vedanta will lie at the end of your seeking. This is why it is the end of the Vedas, as it is literally "end of knowledge".

    • @ktailor1980

Advaita vedanta is not a complete philosophy though and does not work on it's own. The upanishads present both advaita and dvaita. One has to look at the vedas in totality and not just cherry pick the advaita verses. But unfortunately advaita followers have fundamentally misunderstood vedanta thinking they are the supreme self. If you are the supreme self then why cant you read everyone's mind? If everything is one with brahman then you should be connected and be conscious of everything right? :)

    • @ktailor1980
      @ktailor1980 4 роки тому +4

@Aditya Kumar Pandey advaita is incomplete because it claims you are the Absolute Brahman itself. However, the Absolute Brahman is already in knowledge, is all pervasive and has no need to understand anything at all. But we possess limited knowledge, we are not all pervasive and have the need for self realisation because we are just an amsha of brahman that can be influenced by maya. The Absolute Brahman is never subject to any maya because it is above maya.

Advaita is not incomplete, what Advaita tells us that we are essentially that supreme nature.
It doesn't mean we are supreme lord. Our nature is of that supreme being. He is all pervasive in his nature, not by his knowledge.
Knowledge is of two types as it is said in Upanishads.
      Vidya and avidya.
Vidya belongs to the knowledge of self.
Avidya belongs to the knowledge of material energies.
That all pervasive is not the Vidya, but the supreme destination of all Vidya. He is the source and also the destination.
When you remove the mask that is being veiled by 5 bhoots , intelligence , mind and ego what remains is the supreme nature.
We are all one, didn't krishna say in Bhagavadgeeta that
"Vidya vinaya sampanne, brahmane gavi hastini, shvaane chaiva shvapaake, panditaha samadarshanaha ". 😀.

@@hemant05 Phenomenal universe is not an illusion. Some Advaithians wrongly interpreted Advaitha vedanta by saying that Maya is an illusion through which Brahman or absolute reality falsely appears as the universe.
Maya is the cause of illusion but it does not mean Maya = Illusion. Maya is the creative Shakthi of Shiva. So, Maya is absolutely real ( world and the universe are real)
So, Advaitha (shiva/non dual) is INCOMPLETE without Dvaitha (shakthi/dual) - Shiva and Shakthi always exist together for the perpetual duality cycles to happen. This is Sankhya vedic metaphysics which is well validated by embodied experience and double slit quantum experiment.

      Warning:
Be careful though, it is very easy to get lost into all other different practices, rituals and philosophies in Hinduism, and all the so called gurus will drag you into something and then scam you. Stick to Advaita Vedanta, and Advaita Vedanta alone.
      What is Brahman and Atman(consciousness/mind):
Only Brahman exists, it is timeless, spaceless, formless, eternal and infinite. Also exists within it are Atman (consciousness/mind) of individual beings like you and me or any other conscious entity. But this individualness or separateness seen by the mind is actually an illusion of the mind. In reality everything, everywhere, in everytime is actually one and is Brahman.
      What is the goal:
What we individuals can do is train our mind to make it understand that the separateness it is seeing is merely an illusion. When the mind knows it is actually not separate, an individual is said to have reached Nirvana. It has penetrated the veil of illusion and witnesses the reality as it is. Mind has realised that it is indeed the same thing as the Brahman. Put clearly, it realises it is the Brahman.
How to reach this state of oneness:
Seek truth from every possible direction, understand reality, read scientific theories like Quantam mechanics, Theory of Relativity, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and try to understand the parallels. Do not believe any other thing until you have logically broken it down using intellect. Practice mind control everyday by doing meditation because the mind can look through the veil only when it is already a well educated and a well trained mind.
That's it. Simple. Here we also need to realise that it is a philosophy, not science. Philosophy turns into science when there are repeated testable observations
      Benefits of thinking this way:
Everything is one and the same, every human is nothing but one and the only, hence creates peace, harmony and stability in society.

it is a shame you have stopped following the Lord Jesus who is the ONLY way to liberation. non-duality is an illusion, it is not impirical at all in any way. The Upanishads are great to read but do not explain the experience we are. It's true that brahman/God cannot be explained though. We are seperate from our neighbours even though at the same time we should be brothers, I am me and you are you and non-duality is simply illusion. You can't wish reality away.

      Hinduism is really ancient.
Bhakti/worship is just one of the ways to explore spirituality and that connection with divine and yourself and from west point of view that's all they can see, whilst practicing yoga lol.
Yoga is another way you become conscious they'll practice yoga and yet demean Hinduism bcz that's what they have been shown. Not their fault if they don't know but if they despite knowing say that then that's just ill

This is the kind of thinking that shifted my view of reality so immensely once I started my spiritual awakening journey. It is a huge consciousness shift. That is going from viewing yourself as a human being inside of and apart from the universe, to a viewing yourself as the universe in human form.

You will get over all your fears, since extention of advaita philosophy does not differentiate between any emotions. Follow a good guru. Who will teach you how to swim over this bhavasagar (the sansara) fearlessly towards moksha. Fear for what ? You are atma, that is undestroyable, may be you may take many births and many forms of life ,but atma is eternal ,it is trying to come out ,out of the cirlce of life and death (of the body) and finally mingle with the brahman. This your effort will finally make you an yogi. Hence whether you fear or not , one has to go through this cycle, and for that, one needs help of many of concepts embeded in the Hindu phillosophy and their practical implementiaton in a day to day life while on earth. Best wishes.( In lighter vein: let my atma and your atma identify each other when we both become one with the Brahamn finally, leave some ID!!!)

with thoughts and body because of 5 senses which leads to ego) but it does not mean Maya = Illusion. Maya is the creative shakthi of Shiva. The world and the universe made up of Maya shakthi are absolutely real.

Shiva is Shava (corpse) without Shakthi (MAYA) which makes up our thoughts/body/world/universe. Shiva and Shakthi always exist together for the perpetual duality cycles to happen. So, Maya or Shakthi is absolutely real. It also means the material world/universe is also real. Maya is the cause of illusion (the subject/object split or immanent Shiva's confusion and identification with thoughts and body due to 5 senses and ego) but it does not mean Maya = Illusion. Some Advaitians wrongly interpret Advaitha vedanta by saying Maya is an illusion though which Brahman or Shiva falsely appears as the universe.

I just recently started studying Advaita Vedanta one year ago and the changes happening in my life is significant. Tackling a problem became effortless, relationship with others is easy because I can understand them and make them understand me easily. Comparing with myself two years ago, physically, my spine got a little straight that I don't need to use a layback chair most of the time and rarely I catch a cold, become sick. Emotionally, I am more empathic to other living creatures. Mentally, it's easy to concentrate on something that requires full-on attention. Sometimes I am needed to work as a dubbing engineer for 3 or 4 hours straight without an air conditioner in a small room, I do alright. Behaviour wise, I am a little more instinctive(instantaneous) that I don't need to think too much before speaking, typing, playing an instrument, etc. The excitement became less(because these are just preparatory steps/results to attain the end goal), so, I don't take note of changes that much as I did in the beginning.
If you were to follow this, I would advise you to follow this wholehearted and be true to your own conscience(about non-killing, continence, abstinence, non-hurting, etc). For everyone the karma is different, so the time taken is different for everybody to attain the oneness. But it will happen anyway. Quoting some swami, "Its just time that separates saint from the sinner. The saint has sinned, the sinner can be sanctified."
About the religion, all the religion are capable of getting us to the truth(from Sri Ramakrishna's teachings). Respecting every religion, Advaita Vedanta is universal to everyone on this earth. The enemy is our own ignorance, not others.

It's clear to me that it's possible that Hermetic Philosophy could have been derived from as far back as 38,000 years ago, during the time Ancient Egypt was in a Golden Age. If Hermes Trismegistus was an reincarnation of Thoth himself, his knowledge and teachings had to come from somewhere, and I think they could be far more ancient and esoteric than we know.

What worries me a little is that It's closely linked to occultism and that gives me this "dark side" vibe so I haven't digged much deeper except Franzs Bardons Initiations in sacred magick. Also many of those books are pretty complex so I'm struggling to find more literature. I would say I understand Kybalions principles fairly well, but when It gets to elements, magic etc I feel like I'm not ready for It. I am really interested in this just because of Kybalion because those principles must be known and I practice them too.

I love this. Awesome thank you beautiful. Peace calm love i suppose is all pervading. I was raised a Mormon and duality brought judgement guilt and shame. The journey now is non duality there are no words. Thanks again and last note where is the law of attraction? It becomes null and void.

Do you have a recommended reading list you can provide? I am reading Thich Nhat Hanh’s Buddha’s Teachings and I have a copy of the Gita, but I’m unsure where to go after that, literature wise. Any suggestions are appreciated. 🕉 ✌🏼

I recommend Avadhuta Gita(Teachings of a liberated soul), Ashtavakra Gita, Ribhu Gita, Vashishta Gita, Vyadha Gita(teachings of an enlightened butcher) and Viveka choodamani.

In my experience, the "illusion" is born of habit. With practice you can expand your awareness to include all things as part of yourself...the shirt hanging in the closet, the cat, your wife, etc...it is only by habit born from mimicry that we have viewed all things separate from ourselves.

This universe , greed , lust , anger everything is an illusion . Maaya

@@times2508 Maya is the cause of illusion (the subject/object split experienced by human egoistic mind) but it does not mean Maya = Illusion. Maya is the creative shakthi of Shiva without which nothing exists. So, Maya is absolutely real. Some Advaithians wrongly interpret Advaitha Vedanta by saying that Maya is an illusion through which Brahman falsely appears as the universe.
