I am a legacy MTH DCS PS2 user. A couple of questions: (1) Can you daisy chain the old TIU with the new WTIU? (2) Can we easily change the PFA's on PS2 locos to either Freight or Passenger?
@@mister_fjk1972 no, they don’t daisy change. You’ll need a wifi unit for your old one. Yes, you can change the peas but you’ll have to limit it to existing ps2 locos. The file size on ps3 engines wont fit on ps2 boards.
I still can’t believe that no one has produced a Canadian Pacific 2816 with the plethora of special units that have run with it. It’s auxiliary cars and all of its passenger cars? That would be an amazing set in O gauge and an O scale. My biggest concern is continued by-in into the MTH ecosystem and how Mike Wolf plans to provide continuity for the company and everyone that bought into the ecosystem, from retail products, support, repair and parts when he decides to retire. I love the quality of MTH, 2nd to none, but my concerns still remain, will the commitment to quality and aggressive pricing continue along with products/support/repairs and parts?

Steve, can you please get the detailed directions on how to hook the new WTIU to your Wi-Fi home network and post them to your website, Facebook, instagram, etc. Looking for cheat sheet.
I found out that the update Mike mentioned is definitely automatic’ I helped my brother hook his up and as long as it’s in the MTH Network, when you open the DCS App, it’s automatically done . Simple. Connecting it to your home network is easy as well. Make sure you move the Router button on the WTIU from MTH to Home. If your Home Router has a WPS button, press and release, then press and release the WPS button on the WTIU and follow the steps. There is also a cheat sheet included that has a more detailed explanation.
The WiFi DCS manual in the app has good instructions on how to directly connect to your home network if you don't have a wps. It's a lot like configuring a home router.

@@thoff1348 Initially the plan was to shutdown after a buyer could not be found for the entire company. When the top officers figured out they could run a downsized operation with build-to-order, custom runs for dealers, no need to print catalogs, and a smaller leased HQ in a cheaper part of Maryland (their original HQ was in an area gentrifying with medical and defense contractors), their proposal became the current operation of the company. AtlasO product is now being made in MTH's factory, with their tooling plus the purchased MTH tooling, so from the factory's perspective it's business as usual, with some additional tools and Atlas-O boxes added to the mix. Atlas' previous builder had little experience with O scale, and they frequently sidelined 'O' projects in favor of more lucrative HO/N stuff for a number of companies of which Atlas was just one. Moving into MTH's factory gave them an exclusive builder experienced in O scale. Atlas is dong new tools, like their autorack and upcoming 73' I-beam flatcar. Whether MTH is planning any new tooled models I haven't heard anything, but I imagine with their new business model working well for them, they _could_ be setting aside funding for a new model in the future, but that's no more than speculation on my part.
