    Menbosha Recipe :
    - 250 grams / shrimp (peeled)
    - 1~2 tbsp / lemon juice
    - 1 tsp / chicken stock
    - 1 tbsp / stach
    - 1/2 tsp / pepper
    - 1 tbsp / olive oil
    - 1/2 pcs / egg white
    - 4 slices / white bread
    - cooking oil
    Deeping Sauce Recipe :
    - 2 tbsp / mayonaise
    - 1 tbsp / tomato sauce
    - 1/2 tbsp / lemon juice
    - pinch of salt
    - pinch of parsley

    Quick tip: freeze the bread first and then cut it. This way, it’s easier to cut and is stiff

    There's this chinese restaurant that sold my favorite shrimp toast. So much that i go there 6/7 times a week. Sadlt they closed because the owner/chef died of heart attack (RIP chef Wu). Never got to eat it again. I saw this recipe and the taste is pretty close to it. Thank you. Now i make about 100 of this a week for the past 3 months. (For share of course but mostly for me haha).

    Finally made this today. Didn’t follow the full recipe or method. Used whole egg. Added soya sauce and used less salt, or it will be too salty. I did not cover the prawn paste with another piece of cut bread but instead coated it with breadcrumbs, then shallow fry it. You get one side crisp fried prawn paste and the other is not too oily fried bread. I used homemade white bread with walnut. So it had the nice nut crunch. Dipped it in garlic chili sauce. Yumms! Oh! i forgto. I put everything into a food processor instead of chopping them. So much faster and easier.

    This is delicious! Easy to make and easier to gobble up! I replaced chicken stock with Dashi powder though, but other than that, followed the recipe. Thanks for sharing 😊

    What temperature is the oil you're frying them in and for how long? Which oil do you use too, now that I think of it?
    Also, the dipping sauce, what is it and do you have a recipe or recommendation for one?

      The temperature 350F degrees. I used canola oil for frying. And for the dipping sauce I combined 2tbsp tomato ketchup, 1tbsp mayonnaise and a pinch of sugar ^^ thank you so much!

      Untuk pemakaian oven 10 menit api bawah, di lanjut 5 menit api atas bawah ^^ jgn lupa untuk mengoleskan mentega atau minyak dibagian roti untuk texture yg garing ya. Terimakasih

    May i ask can you put them in the oven too or do we have to have frie them . And if we can how long ?

      Annyeonghaseyo ^^ sure you can put them in the oven. Make sure butter the bread first and then bake in 140~160 degrees about 10~15 minutes. It will be depends on how hot the oven as well. Thank you

    Thank you for this recipe! I tried it yesterday and it was delicious. The bread soaked up a little too much of the oil though. Wish there was a way to keep that from happening.

      Thank you so much ^^ for bread you may store first in the fridge and then cook the menbosha. And the oil must be not too hot and cool the menbosha after frying them. Thank you.

    Had this yesterday, and it was good. There's is just so much oil that I honestly feel sick now. I think I'll bake it next time.

      Annyeonghaseyo! You may also put in the oven for 15~20 minutes at 160 degrees (may different bake time on different oven) please make sure the shrimp cook well ^^ To reduce the oil on the bread, you can put in the fridge about a day and deep fry them. Thank you!

      It's okay if you dont use it. U can season it with salt and garlic powder. It works well too

      The oil will absorb and make the bread crunchy ^^ but if you do not want to use cooking oil, you can try oven instead (use both up and down heat with 150~160 degree Celsius about 10~15minutes) make sure double check for the shrimp cook well.

      Annyeonghaseyo! There are few types of starch, potato starch, corn starch. But if you don't have starch you may substitute with glutinous flour ^^ Thank you!

      Untuk udang na bisa di ganti dengan dada ayam cincang atau kornet ^^ bisa di tambahkan sayuran juga. Pastikan goreng menggunakan api kecil-sedang untuk kematangan yang pas. Terimakasih.

      Bisa ^^ untuk oven 150C selama 15 menit. Pastikan roti dioles mentega atau minyak terlebih dahulu untuk lebih garing. Terimakasih

      You can substitute cornstarch with 1tbsp all purpose flour ^^ or you can only use egg white, but make sure the batter is not runny. Thank you.

      Hmm, the starch from shrimp filling will absorb the bread and don't fall apart. Make sure press gently before frying ^^ thank you.
