You don’t need all the material possessions of the west, it’s ok and it’s fine to have nice things, but the west have to know it’s fine to live simply as well. I grew up in PNG and the island lifestyle, food and religion are very similar to Samoa. In PNG we did 'mumu' and in Samoa 'umu', best way to cook in the ground and soaked in coconut milk, best food. The village lifestyle is envious as its simple but pure. There may not be the material things people crave in the West, but the life is far richer and family, friends and community are so strong. Give me the village life any day. Will never forget my years in PNG and watching this brings back memories. Pacific Islanders and Polynesians just awesome people and awesome way of life.

I'm from Tonga currently living in Madagascar and this video made my day. This reminds me of home. The coconut milk, the umu and the climbing up the coconut tree to get the fresh coconuts. I moved to Samoa just after secondary school in wales and spent 3 months just outside Apia. Was the most amazing place with some real awesome people. This brought back so many get memories!

I just got back from Samoa on Sunday and regret not going to Savai'i. Apia was very average but South of Upolo was soooo good! Lalomanu is where it's at, next time I will take the car ferry over. Samoan people are awesome!

I just got back from Samoa on Sunday and regret not going to Savai'i. Apia was very average but South of Upolo was soooo good! Lalomanu is where it's at, next time I will take the car ferry over. Samoan people are awesome!

His wife's family those two sisters Alofa and her sister they very clever. Both of them learn English from their young age. And they end up in the College the most expensive college of Samoa that time no one is allow to speak Samoan when they enter the school. I know them but i don't no if they still remember me because i left my village in 1999.

I come from the southern part of India and we live so similar like 99 percent of our cultures so similar the use of coconuts taro cassava and even to clothes we wear are so similar crazy how tropical people live so similar and are not so different
