I sent you a question about the P3 Standard responding backwards. Basically, up is down, left is right... unless you move the remote sticks so gently. Otherwise, it’s almost impossible to fly. Well I figured it out. It was just a simple calibration of the remote in settings. There are several blogs about people having this same issue. If you make a video of this... so many people will watch. I bought my drone from eBay. The man also had the same issue. That’s why I got it so cheap.LOL! I thought I had a brick drone and almost returned it until I finally figured it out last night. If you don’t make a video, I’ll do it. But yours are better than I could make and I’m not trying to get a bunch of people asking me questions as I’m still learning from guys like you who already know what your talking about. There are many people who need this help. Thanks again for all your videos. You’ve helped me a lot. 👍
I was glad to find this, got a message on my phone that it had "overheated" and was closing all applications before turning off. I wasn't sure of the orientation of the drone about 2500 feet away, luckily was able to fly it back. Using the switch on the left will give some peace of mind.
I remember the live stream when you hit 3k I totally forgot about your channel and just found it back when I got a notification from u on another video

question. on a p3 standard edition. seems that the drone thinks its in flight as soon as you start the engines. this means I have no auto launch mode to take off. it will land with auto if you manually take off. is this just a lemon p3 standard edition that needs to be returned? or is there something I'm doing wrong? I did calibrate the compass but that has not fixed the issue.
RTH via the switch is a must as many time the tablet or phone will loose connection or perhaps do a spontaneous reboot and you can't initiate RTH any other way than the switch. I say this as it just happened to me while flying over a lake. - Good stuff to know in advance.
Have viewed a number of your vids and love them. On the S2 vid you seemed to have left out the change of home point feature. Example, if I launch at one location and lets say use the follow me mode. I may end up quite a ways from the recorded home point at launch. If I lose contact and have to rth quickly it will fly back to where I launched. Instead, I can reset the home point to my current location by using the S2 switch. Simply clicking it back and forth 5 times it will reset home point to its present location. Then if later coms are lost, RTH will send it to my present location. Of course, all the normal warnings about being sure the new home point is safe to land in etc. I think this was a later update to the DJI STD 3 firmware sometime in 2015 or 16.

Another top tutorial. Thank you very much Maybe you can help me with answering a question? In England, UK, the P3S I understand is restricted to traveling a max of 500m away, horizontally that is. I don't want to push it too much but assuming I have a clear line of sight, 10+ satellites and I'm in P-Mode, what happens when I get to 500M? Can I go further, say to 700M? Also, can I go further then 500M in A-Mode? I assume as there are no satellites the restrictions on distance are not controlled automatically so much? Your advise on that also appreciated.! T many suggestions online but you seem to have a good handle on all this Thanks

Hmmm I have tried that before but it didn't end to well xD. Honestly, as long as there aren't too many obstructions and things blocking gps signals, I would stay in P mode on the controller to fly indoors.
So, a friend of mine gave me a Phantom 3 that had dropped into a pool... The remote was not damaged, and the drone itself does power on with two blinking lights, and two solid. I tried re-pairing the remote to see if that was the issue, but even after holding the button in for several seconds during the pairing mode, it does not pair and so I am not able to use the drone. Any recommendations for other ways to get this working again? I don't mind replacing parts, but this is my first drone and honestly I have no idea what to check first. I would definitely appreciate any feedback from you. Thanks so much!
HI CARSON : THANK YOU !! This Vid saved me a lot of trouble trying to get Tech help from DJI . I tried to change WIFY pass word , by putting a # in it . My brand new Phantom 3 Standard rejected new pass word and erased the WI-FI SSID # and Password !! Would not take new SSID or Password . Thanks to your info. I reset video feed from controller to factory settings as you showed, and every thing returned to normal ! YEAH !! Now I can have First Flight I Hope. Again THX Ben V.

Thank you! Also, I probably won't make a video about it but basically I just have never tried them haha so I wouldn't really know what the disadvantages would be other than it makes the drone MUCH bigger than previously when storing it
dorbsz I have prop guards, they slide on and off so you can travel without them taking up space. In theory it would add weight and wind resistance to your drone, but I honestly can't tell a difference. I also don't fly anywhere where they've been useful, but if I stumble upon that scenario I'll be prepared.

Very good video Hey, I have some questions that you might be able to answer You have lag on the cell, talking about the image that the camera projects? Sometimes I have a lot of lag and the image freezes that is normal Has it happened to you?
Hmmm that only occasionally happens to me but ONLY happens when I'm flying long distances which makes sense. If you're having problems with closer range and the video cutting out, there must be a lot of interference near you causing that. Try taking your drone out somewhere that's far from anything that could cause interference and see if that makes any differences.
I've never heard of that error I would suggest taking some time to do a couple google searches. In my opinion, if it's doing that you should probably send the battery back (if you bought it as a second battery) and get a replacement or contact DJI if it's the original battery you received with your drone to see if they will send you a replacement. Hope this helps!

Hmm I'm sorry but I've never actually tried that so I'm not totally sure but my guess is no, that's not possible. The reason for thinking this is because you would need to put the RC in pairing mode 2 times (for each drone) and it's likely that DJI has in the code to change the pairing encryption every new time you pair. So, obviously you would be able to pair one drone but as soon as you would go to pair the second, the RC encryption will change and the previous encrypted connection will be lost with the first paired drone. Just want to say now, I'm not sure if DJI actually encrypts that type of connection (more than likely not), I just couldn't think of another term to use that would make sense xD. Hope this helps though!

Good point about the encryption... didn't think about that... I just figured I would probably lose binding to first quad and new quad would take over. This would obviously be a pain-in-the-you know what, doing this every time I wanted to fly. As far as you know there is know way to bind P3S with different aftermarket RC & Receiver is that correct?
I bought a dji phantom 3 standard off of eBay and I am having some issues with the drone. When I connect everything up to my drone and i scroll up or down on the scroll wheel on the side. The camera doesn't move at all. When it is completely powered off everything else moves freely on the gimble except for the joint that makes the camera move up and down. Everything else about the gimble works perfectly but moving the camera up or down. - Would be great if I could get some help

Keshav Dhouneeram Nope:/ all of the DJI Phantom 3 series and below don't have sport mode. However, the DJI Phantom 4 series and on up do have sports mode. Hope this helps:)
If I were to use a wifi only iPad would I need to be next to a house or building with wifi to use it or would I just need to connect to the drones wifi. I know I won't have gps functions but I'm still not sure how the whole wifi thing works.
Nope! Cellular data (or internet connection) is NOT needed when flying the DJI Phantom 3 Standard...just a WiFi connection. The only time an internet connection is needed is for logging into your DJI Go account and also if you're wanting to unlock a NFZ you'll need an internet connection.
Carson what app version are you using, I have had my P3s for 3-4 weeks since there was a update last week my app is doing all crazy stuff on a samsung S6 Edge + before the update it flew twice lovely from new out the box.
Andie Tweeny same as mine dude. app update 3.1.5 really sucks. im using android as well. my apps crash at the middle of flight, almost crash my drone because im not that good landing it manually. kinda worries ne to fly it now since dji havent provide any new update yet
Can two devices connect to WiFi at same time Like my phone and tablet or even phone tablet and computer at same time. And if I'm controlling it by phone will it also let me control by computer at same time or is there a security feature to block that. In normal usage that would never be a problem but say you were in a popular area and someone else tried to connect to your drone and it was left on default password Or someone used something like Kali Linux and cracked the password... But question you might not have the answer but asking anyway
My p3 stnd is ordered and on it's way , My only concern is my phone, hopefully it does what it's supposed to , it's not on the list of recommended phones (HTC DESIRE ONE)
For video, definitely 2.7K at 30fps is the best looking video that you can get from a DJI Phantom 3 Standard and for photo...I don't really every use that because tbh the image quality when taking photos SUCKS and so I definitely wouldn't rely on this as a photo taking drone although the vidoes are stellar so stick to the best settings possible and you should be set to great images👍
Hmm...you may need to ship it to DJI for repair or if you're good with hands on things yourself, you could possibly purchase a bottom plastic replacement to replace with. However, doing it on your own probably voids the warranty so I wouldn't recommend that....depending on how bad the crack is, you're honestly probably fine for right now unless it takes a noticeable toll on flight when flying. I hope this helps in some way!
Q:what if the drone is in hoover mode and I lost control, can I use the switch s2 to let it return to controller? I hope you can answer this for me. Thanks anyway
Thanks for this video. I found out why you can return home with the switch! When you go out of range the phone app can disconnect as i found out today. It seems the actual controller is still connected to the aircraft though even when the phone app isnt so you can return home with the switch. I might be talking rubbish but thats my theory. Has anybody tried turning off the app mid flight to see what happens?

Well that is a very important switch right there to have broken! I would suggest you sending the remote into DJI for repair or just purchasing a new remote because there aren't any ways to change those modes on your phone and I don't know if I would ever want to rely on the app to change those modes anyways. Hopefully you can get it repaired as that is the cheapest option. Hope this helps :)
Are you using an Android device or an Apple device? Some Android users have left comments saying that the function modes that I've shown in my other controller video aren't available for Android at the moment. Sadly, it seems that if you want the extra functionality of the DJI Phantom 3 Standard you'll have to get an Apple iPhone, iPod, or iPad in order to see these features on the app. Hope this helps!
I think you're meaning on your controller? If you do mean that, I have seen some controller mounts that you can add to the DJI Phantom 3 Standard controller in order to be able to use an iPad!
So my drone is connected to the controller but I need to do a firmware update and it won’t let me because it says “device Disconnected please check” I have done a ton of things but nothing has worked yet.

If your phone runs out of battery and you can't see it or it's far away you can flick the s2 switch and it will return that's why it's a feature

I've never heard of that error I would suggest taking some time to do a couple google searches. great video but you need to slow down just a bit when talking about functions of the switches. so when you were switching the S 2 back and forth where did you actually leave it at ? looked like the middle position but couldn't see and you never said
I have installed the range extenders on my phantom 3 and I keep losing signal around 500 meter. am using the dji app, I was flying in my housing area. so any fix I should do.

Keshav Dhouneeram Nope:/ all of the DJI Phantom 3 series and below don't have sport mode. However, the DJI Phantom 4 series and on up do have sports mode. Hope this helps:)

Hi my husband has a phantom 3 standard. When it gets to a certain distance only about 500ft it says go home and starts returning. Why does it do this?

If I were to use a wifi only iPad would I need to be next to a house or building with wifi to use it or would I just need to connect to the drones wifi. I know I won't have gps functions but I'm still not sure how the whole wifi thing works.
Nope! Cellular data (or internet connection) is NOT needed when flying the DJI Phantom 3 Standard...just a WiFi connection. The only time an internet connection is needed is for logging into your DJI Go account and also if you're wanting to unlock a NFZ you'll need an internet connection.
Carson what app version are you using, I have had my P3s for 3-4 weeks since there was a update last week my app is doing all crazy stuff on a samsung S6 Edge + before the update it flew twice lovely from new out the box.
Hmm that's really strange but I'm currently using version [v3.1.7 (2777)] of the iPhone app.

Andie Tweeny same as mine dude. app update 3.1.5 really sucks. im using android as well. my apps crash at the middle of flight, almost crash my drone because im not that good landing it manually. kinda worries ne to fly it now since dji havent provide any new update yet
My Android phone works perfectly with my Phantom 3s. I've also used it with my iPad Mini 3 and it looses a few features when I do that.
Man I still have my Mod Phantom 2 with go pro. now a phantom 3 pro, and a Phantom 4. waiting to get a Autel 6k
Can two devices connect to WiFi at same time
Like my phone and tablet or even phone tablet and computer at same time.
And if I'm controlling it by phone will it also let me control by computer at same time or is there a security feature to block that.
In normal usage that would never be a problem but say you were in a popular area and someone else tried to connect to your drone and it was left on default password Or someone used something like Kali Linux and cracked the password...
But question you might not have the answer but asking anyway
My p3 stnd is ordered and on it's way , My only concern is my phone, hopefully it does what it's supposed to , it's not on the list of recommended phones (HTC DESIRE ONE)

For video, definitely 2.7K at 30fps is the best looking video that you can get from a DJI Phantom 3 Standard and for photo...I don't really every use that because tbh the image quality when taking photos SUCKS and so I definitely wouldn't rely on this as a photo taking drone although the vidoes are stellar so stick to the best settings possible and you should be set to great images👍
how about deep settings? like white balance etc.?

Hmm...you may need to ship it to DJI for repair or if you're good with hands on things yourself, you could possibly purchase a bottom plastic replacement to replace with. However, doing it on your own probably voids the warranty so I wouldn't recommend that....depending on how bad the crack is, you're honestly probably fine for right now unless it takes a noticeable toll on flight when flying. I hope this helps in some way!

Thanks for this video. I found out why you can return home with the switch! When you go out of range the phone app can disconnect as i found out today. It seems the actual controller is still connected to the aircraft though even when the phone app isnt so you can return home with the switch. I might be talking rubbish but thats my theory. Has anybody tried turning off the app mid flight to see what happens?

Well that is a very important switch right there to have broken! I would suggest you sending the remote into DJI for repair or just purchasing a new remote because there aren't any ways to change those modes on your phone and I don't know if I would ever want to rely on the app to change those modes anyways. Hopefully you can get it repaired as that is the cheapest option. Hope this helps :)

Function mode does not appear on my controller any advice?
Are you using an Android device or an Apple device? Some Android users have left comments saying that the function modes that I've shown in my other controller video aren't available for Android at the moment. Sadly, it seems that if you want the extra functionality of the DJI Phantom 3 Standard you'll have to get an Apple iPhone, iPod, or iPad in order to see these features on the app. Hope this helps!

I think you're meaning on your controller? If you do mean that, I have seen some controller mounts that you can add to the DJI Phantom 3 Standard controller in order to be able to use an iPad!
So my drone is connected to the controller but I need to do a firmware update and it won’t let me because it says “device Disconnected please check” I have done a ton of things but nothing has worked yet.
Um, I have no idea what I did but now it’s working😂
