Eminem jumped on it, and kept his verse from the original "Renegades" almost in its total. Officially it's Jays song, but not really...... just on the sidenote. LOVE

I don’t think Revival was trash like a lot of people say it was, I just think it was something different from Em that people haven’t heard. I think a lot of people didn’t understand all the metaphors and double and triple entendres. Revival was very well written and low key it was super lyrical. I think the beats and the hooks could have been a little better, but I don’t think revival should be looked at as a failure, it did go platinum multiple times over. I think people should stop sleeping on that album and give it another listen with an open mind and listen to it for what it was meant to be. And the content on that album was crazy. This is just my opinion so everybody can just save all the negativity please.
It is a great album. A lot of people just aren't smart enough to catch the bars, the meaning of the song, or they're just too lazy to try an understand it.
i couldn't have said it better myself. i held off buying the album at first because of the negativity surrounding it, but i recently went back and listened through it. i don't understand why people didn't like it; much like you said, it's one of Em's most lyrical albums and delivered a great message. the only explanation i can think of is that he released it at a time when that particular style wasn't in high demand; everyone wanted sick beats to vibe to and autotune. i think if revival was released in the 90's it would've been just as big as MMLP.
I think revival was great for its own purpose we didnt need shady in that album we needed eminem and we got it. There is quadruple meanings in his verses in that album like,always

This is just my opinion on how I interpreted it.
First I would like to say that I THINK at some point in anyones kid/teenager days had some sort of a short temper(snapping on little things/anything that rubbed you the wrong way.) What I think he meant was overtime you grow and as you grow you start learning how not to swet the small things AKA petty crap. So then that's where you start to develop that thick skin where hardly nothing could get you worked up. But at the same time that short temper is hiding under that thick skin. Even though you have that thick skin there's lines/boundaries that for those that if you cross them lines/boundaries then that it is when like a blink of an eye that short temper comes out.
