Photoshop Cutout Tools: Pen Tool, Refine Edge, Quick Selection... (PSD Box)

In this beginners tutorial I will show you the most used techniques for cutting and extracting subjects from the background using Photoshop.
For solid color backgrouds it's best to use the smart selection tools (Magic Wand and Quick Selection) but using them will usually requite to also use the Refine Edge in order to get perfectly sharp edges.

You can also use the magic eraser to remove the background if the background is solid as the case with umbrella on the white background.

Andrei that part where u are talkin about the size and hardness of the quick selection tool, u can change it easier by holding ALT + Right mouse button, try it out :D
