- DIY Get Rid of Silverfish in your house! If you've seen little silver things crawling around in your home, they're probably silverfish. In this video I'm showing you two easy ways to get rid of silverfish in your house. These two ways that I share won't harm your floors or baseboards.
I have a travertine marble floor in the bathroom where I see the silverfish occasionally and I can't use anything on the marble that the marble will absorb, such as an oil.
Watch the video and then try out these ideas for yourself!

Silverfish can jump as high as 2 feet and the de cuts up their exoskeletons so they can’t retain moisture. Probably put some de in your jars so they die after they’ve jumped out.
I find silverfish in my wash basin all the time and just wash them down the drain. I question whether they can jump or are not smart enough. What I can tell is they fast when they are detected.
The silverfish don’t eat the diatomaceous earth. It gets on the exoskeletons (outside covering) of the silverfish and causes them to die of dehydration/desiccation. Removing and reapplying the diatomaceous earth seems unnecessary. Just leave it in place for several days so you are sure all the stragglers have crawled through it.
Mine little critters just keep coming down from the ceiling usually thru the light fixture opening or molding edges. Tough to get at them.
Why do you have to vacuum up the powder? Can't you just leave it there until they're all dead?
I hate silverfish. I use diatomaceous earth around the baseboards. I've been doing it for a few years now. It's reduced them but I live in an old building. They always hang out on my ceiling in my room, which creeps me out.
Great info!
