    Thank you very much for this useful vocabulary.
    This is a passage to describe my friend.
    My friend is Jack, he is 19 approximately 19 years old. He has a curly black hair. His hair is shaved at the back and the two side, and swept to one side on left side.
    He has well-definded face looking. He has a faint winkle at his forehead as well as his cheek. When he smiles, he creates dimple which looks so lovely.
    He used to have a gut. However, as far as I know, he has been maintaining his healthy daily activities from eating, taking physical exercise and call it a day early. Recently, he owns himself muscular physique

      Hi Vinh. Thank you for watching and sharing your response. Here are some corrections for you:
      1) 'He has curly black hair,' not, 'He has a curly black hair.'
      2) '...the two sides,' not, '...the two side.'
      3) 'He has a well-defined face,' not, 'He has well-definded face looking.'
      Hope this is useful for you!

    Hi, everyone, I am Yan. Today I'm going to talk about one of my customers, she is eighty years old, she has short grey very stylished hair. Her face is an oval shap with crow's feet and wrinkles in front of her high forehead. She always smiles when she talks which is fast. I n my opinion, she is straight foreward person: once, she mentioned her husband was a dentist, but he had dementia a few years ago and lived at a retirement village not far from her apartment. we said we are sorry to hear it, and she said to us, don't be sorry, she is quite happy now. She has her health and has money. She just visited her husband once a week. Other times, she can do whatever, she wants to do.

      Thanks for watching the lesson and sharing your response, Yan! Here are a few suggestions for you:
      1) '...stylish hair,' not, 'stylished.'
      2) 'shape,' not, 'shap.'
      3) You might have meant, 'at the top of her high forehead,' or, 'in the middle of her high forehead,' rather than, 'in front of.'

    Q1 if someone generally is not overweight but has got a big belly, could I say "He has a medium build with a big belly"? YES
    Q2 could I say "He's going bald and has a receding hairline"? He's going bald./ He has a receding hairline.
    Q3 How do you describe someone's height? Could I say he is very tall, over six feet three"? Correction: He's very tall, over six foot three.
    Thank you.

    • @Oxfordonlineenglish1
      @Oxfordonlineenglish1  4 роки тому

      Nice questions! Yes, you can say someone has a 'big belly' if their belly is big, but they're not necessarily fat. Your second question is good, though I would pick one or the other. For the third question, that is correct. However, the expression for height is: 'six foot three' and not 'feet'.

    What different between 'jaw' and 'chin' ?

    • @Oxfordonlineenglish1
      @Oxfordonlineenglish1  4 роки тому +1

      Hi there. The jaw is the whole structure of bone that frames the mouth and holds the teeth. The chin is the center part of the jaw in front, right below your bottom front teeth. Hope this helps you!

    My father is short but well-built. He has a big gut because he drank a lot of beer. He is a farmer and works on the field all day so his skin is tanned. He has round face and deep wrinkles in his forhead. He is over 60 this year. This makes his hair go white so quickly that he has to use hair dye quite often.

      Thanks for sharing, Bui! Here are some corrections for you:
      1) 'He has a round face,' not, 'He has round face'.
      2) '...on his forehead,' not, 'in'.
      Hope this helps you!
