- Day ticket venues are incredibly popular and Sandhurst Lake, the scene for this film, is no exception. We tasked Lance Barton with the challenge of catching a 40lb carp live for the camera, in a scenario that so many anglers are faced with; busy banks, changeable weather and multiple sessions spread throughout the year. With no way of pre-baiting or using any of Lance’s usual tactics he would adopt in his campaign fishing, it was a case of adapting and overcoming.
Covering three separate sessions, Lance endures sun, rain, wind and snow during his time at Sandhurst, as he tries to outwit some of the special carp that reside in the famous lake. Forever tinkering, Lance puts fish on the bank every session, but will one of them break the magical 40lb barrier?

Nice bit of videography that 👌
I often turn up a day early to get all my feature finding done & to watch the water & bait up the day before & just let the swim rest let the fish get there heads down on a big bed of bait then the following morning I will get my rods & rigs ready & start fishing after baiting up the day before I think baiting up then letting the swing rest after doing this can be a great edge & something different to what all other anglers are doing I also vary my rig presentations so say 1 on a bottom bait rig the next 1 on a wafter & the 3 Rd rod on a pop up presentation then I wait to see what 1 gets the 1st bite & then change them accordingly to how the 1st couple of fish are caught then just before dark I top up the area with more bait & maybe only leave 1 rig out or often non at all then start fishing again the following morning that few hours from baiting the swim & then resting it can build the confidence up & then when you do finally present a rig where they have had a free feeding frenzy I tend to find them not so rig shy because there have been no lines or lead thrashing the water this tactic is very under used & very underrated for anglers fish for 2-3-4 days at a time or even longer if your fishing abroad 😀
I’ve never seen an angler very think as much as this dude!

What colour did u catch the last fish on a match the hatch or white?
Hi it’s Freddy lance
Great video! I just wish people would really research OCD before throwing it around Willy nilly in carp fishing videos. If you like things a certain way, neat, or tidy - You are just an organised person. OCD is a debilitating mental illness.
It’s an expression.!! Take ya tampon out love
@@sarah1527.🤣 an expression that for 5 years I’ve been trying to spread awareness about with mental health and fishing. Thanks for the encouragement, I’m currently writing my second book about OCD but this time it has a carp fishing twist, I will credit your quote for inspiration to the thousands suffering with actual OCD
Wet lettuce 😂
@@scottwright2648Hello fella. Did you finish your second book? My 14yr old son has severe OCD, he hasn't fished with me since being diagnosed over a year ago. If you published your book, would love a link for it 👍
Carrying the fish back to the waters edge on an unhooking mat is poor angling. 🤦🏻
Poor angling ?? How else should he put them back? 😂😂😂
@darrenbrown4605 carry them in a retainer sling not balanced on an unhooking mat.....🤦🏻 that fish could easily slip off that mat and fall to the ground.......if u don't understand that u should not be angling.
Get a grip man🙃
