It's impressive how Cloud's body language shows us how important Aerith is to him, in addition to starting to change and do things he would never have done.
You COULD argue that Cloud was willing to dance in order to save Tifa.
so why aren't you ? Or PERHAPS you doubt it, considering Aerith is the only reason he's dancing AT ALL ?
When he realized he had to dance, he walked out. Then he sees Aerith who gives him a thumbs up. He gives her a look that says "really?" and then summoned all his resolve to dance. If Aerith was not there, he would have walked out. Toriyama also stated that the dance battle song titles were carefully selected to show romance heating up between Cloud and Aerith.
