- Located in the Pays Basque in south-west France, the elegant holiday home of Spanish interior designer Isabel López-Quesada is a chic testament to everyday design and the easy sophistication of Zara Home, whose products and furnishings grace her light-filled property. For this new film, López-Quesada welcomed director and NOWNESS collaborator Max Hemmings into her private retreat to talk about how our home makes us who we are, and the importance of making someone feel 'at home'.
By turns stylish and intimate, this portrait of the Madrid-based interiorist-whose design philosophy extols the creative combination of tradition and modernity-celebrates the ways in which we feel comfortable in our own surroundings, where the home represents a repository of our feelings, emotions, experiences, and memories.
The Zara Home collaborator, whose interior projects stretch from Philadelphia to Madrid, has been recognized by a number of accolades, including Architectural Digest’s ‘AD100’ and the Spanish edition of the same magazine’s ‘Best Interiorist’ award.

Stunning house no doubt, but I would have liked to see more of the rooms to get an Impression of the space. The camera was always focusing on details like cups and candles. I particularly missed having a good view of the kitchen.

I usually love the NOWNESS home series, but maybe because this was a collaboration with Zara Home, it seemed more staged and deliberate; less whimsical, surprising and artistic. Hope this isn't the future direction of these videos...

In Spain, most of Zara's products are made in its country.
Zara Home products are made with authentic materials- natural fabrics, wood, metal, glass, ceramic. Where do you pick up home goods? From the forest floor?

We're fooled into believing we own our houses but we're only the custodians and we never know when the custody is going to end as we don't live forever! Also, what percentage of people live like that? Some have clearly too much , some live from collecting rubbish from the rivers . Are we all blind?
It hit me too about the reality and affordability of the present day majority to have a large house like this.
