Rough week but the Amsco windows are installed! They went in very fast. Took me about 10 hours to o 19 windows. These windows are the best dual pane windows I could find. Now to figure out the doors...

My heart goes out to you and your family.
My goof-ball yellow lab is now going on 12 and I just can't imagine what it will be like without him. I have always had a dog in my life, although I have gone through the heartbreaking gut wrenching feeling when that 'special family member ' goes over the rainbow bridge to be with the Lord, many times, these past 83 years. I never have got over it yet. I know that time does heal, but God it hurts for so long.
God bless you all, I admire your ' stick- to - itness' with the house. Great job. Stay safe.
Sorry about Kona. Our four-legged friends are just like us. We work and play so hard when we are young when we get older the bones, joints and other problems cause our wonderful life to come to an end. Cold weather certainly isn't our friend. It is God's and Mother Natures Circle of Life, Since I was a little girl and lost my first sweet dog, Princess, I have prayed that all animals will be with us in our next life. So sad for the children, but with living at Red Poppy Ranch they will have so many animals to love throughout their lives. Kona looks like the dog in "Where the Red Fern Grows'. In the pasture out behind my home when I see the Red Ferns, I wonder whose little loved one is buried there. Watch for the Red Ferns this spring or you may have lots of Red Poppies, Kona really loved the ranch.
Sorry to hear about Kona. I know how attached we get to our dogs. They're full fledged members of the family when they've lived a long time with us. It's hard, but you can at least take solace in the fact that she's no longer suffering. Remember the good times, and get a new pup after you've had some time to mourn. My favorite, Brutus, would watch TV with me. I literally cried for weeks after his passing. Still love him. Still miss him.
Great job on the windows. Now that the building is fairly dried in, you can do the blocking the inspector wanted, get the doors and start with plumbing, heating, insulation, etc... and on and on and so it goes. Milestones yes... but still, miles to go. Keep your head up. You have much to be proud of... Much to be thankful for. You do great work.
Nelson LeDoux thanks Buddy!
Sorry to about kona.R.I.P and may your yard be big .see you at the end of rainbow bridge
Smoke / prayers sent for Kona's safe journey home and support for the family. I am so proud of you! You are an inspiration. My hubby, 63, and I, 66, want to build a 24x24 2 story cabin on our 10 acres with 6 acre lake. Build it our self. Watching you has given me courage that we can do it too. CalmingDeerMeadow, Central. IN
RIP Kona...Thank you for sharing...At least you will be warmer..
I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a family member is never easy. Prayers for you and your family.
The windows look great. I feel your pain having to say goodbye to a pet is very hard to do but knowing when they have had enough is beyond showing how much you love them. I’m dreading that day with my 9 year old boxer. She’s been a member of our family and got me through some rough days since my father passed.
I hope you and the family are ok.
God bless .
Sorry about Kona! Our pets become our children and loosing them is never easy, but watching them suffer is even harder. You made the right choice and you did what needed to happen. Much love and respect for that! Thanks for sharing this build and personal life events like this, your UA-cam community appreciates it very much!
so sorry about your dog, looks like he gave your family lots of happy moments!
Sending thoughts to you and your family about your pup. Dogs are just as much family as anyone else
Brian Tinner thank you!
I’m so sorry for your loss! Kona left your family with so many memories, and now she is no longer in pain. God bless you and your family! Ruger hang in there, you will see your buddy again!
The shop house is looking great. I am very sorry to hear the sad news about your dog. Sending a prayer for you and the family.
M and B Homestead thank you...
Your attention to detail on the window installations was very good. I am blown away by your perseverance of doing this yourself truly awesome.
My condolences for your loss of your four-legged family member.
It's such a joy to see the shop house coming together. It really is something to behold, a man building a home for his family. Love it.
Sorry about your dog. I was visiting my sister last year the week after Easter. My sisters dog died on a Sunday. He was just under 10 years old. Tumor of the heart. Thankfully I was there this past May and they now have a New Lab retriever. We do get really attached to our pets and they are a part of our families. You have done a great job. Your family is fortunate to have someone with a great sense of detail and stick-to-it mentality. I would like to do the same thing but on a smaller scale maybe one story. I may not have all the skills needed. But I am a good study and usually can get things done. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Sorry to here about Kona its a very tough time for family especially for the kids .I also have a dog that is 13 and his hearing and eye sight are failing, we just keeping him as happy as we can . Kona may be gone but you will always have the memories that will make you smile when you think of him.
So very sorry about Kona. It is never easy to do it but you did it with love and all your heart, Kona knows your love.
Its a sad day, I love animals and wish they lived longer lives. Seems they are only with us for such a short time but have such a huge imprint on our hearts. Sorry for your loss. Be well. :)
Sorry to hear about Kona my prayers go out to you and your family. I just went through the exact same thing so I am feeling your pain. My dog was name Ricky he was only 9 years and 11 months, just three weeks away from his 10th birthday...
The windows look great the place is coming along nicely. I can't wait for the family to come back up and see the place again. God Bless you all 🙏
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dog. I love your videos. You are so competent. I know you and your family will reap the rewards of your hard work. Bless you all
My condolences and hugs to you and your family.
It's a hard thing when its time to say goodbye to an old faithful friend.. But you've got the memories.. House is looking great.. Look forward to seeing what you do with the doors.. Has the family been out there to see it yet?
I'm so so sorry about Kona! I know the feeling well. Prayers...
Great job on the windows. Looking forward to all you do. God bless you...
sorry for your loss, that's never an easy choice. God Bless
Like #733, in my 77 years I have had and seen a many dogs, few cat, pass thru my life, be it by my hand or others or accidents, they all take/make a part of your life and heart, I teared up as I heard you say this, remembering all my pal's/friends/love ones that became a part of me, never gets easy or they unforgotten in your life, we just got a new puppy to help me we hope, she is going to be my service dog in my everyday life, my older ones, yes 2, were poisoned by someone near me, they died 3 months apart, this pup has some really big shoes to fill, TY for the video and glad to see the house coming along at a good clip, might have it ready to move in by late spring, right, no matter your doing a good job for a one man crew for sure, Later
As they say- "a dog would be perfect if only they lived longer" hard to be strong and realise when their life is too hard, but sounds like you did the right thing for a friend who had had a great life with you. The speed you are progressing at the house is amazing-congratulations! I hope it gives you something to think about when you turn round and Kona isn't there.
borikkiv thank you!
+borkkiv.....All WELL said!
Sorry to hear about Kona. I feel for you all. i had my dog 19 years

Sorry for your loss.
Sorry about your dog, glad to see you'll be working inside, too much drama on the tightrope
Looks Great! Well done.
Very sad to hear about your dog - kona. I have had to ‘put to sleep’ two dogs in the past - I cried like baby on both occasions - horrid. Great progress on the house and a good job done well. You’re now wind & watertight - subject to double door being fixed. Well done, try and buy another puppy or rescue dog soon ..... best of luck 👍🤠
You guys have done so well!
Wish we got that far..( off grid Aussie family)
Hi, sorry to hear about kona , I know how hard it is to lose a much loved pet, you are doing an amazing job on the house it's been amazing watching you build it single handed, it is going to be beautiful.
This house is starting to look like a home. Awesome job. Love seeing the transformation take place.
Wow you are the dynamo all dried in well almost. Windows work really good. Look good too.
Oh Man... I am truly sorry to hear about Kona> the best we can do as a furry baby parent is to know when their body has said "ok enough" ... It may not seem like the "right thing" at the moment, but know you gave her the best life you could... her buddy must be lost without her. :( you did an awesome job with the windows & glad your plumbing has passed so far. My deepest thoughts are with you & the whole family to heal.
Great progress and so so sorry about your pup Kona. Thanks for being a responsible pet owner and recognizing what needed to be done to end Kona’s suffering. That’s a valuable lesson for your kiddos to learn but still very emotional I’m sure. Merry Christmas from Maine and thanks for the inspiration you provide !!!!
So close to tipping those windows out of the bucket. Freaking me out dude! Great job so far!
Good looking windows, sorry about your lab, had a black lab, loved him, sucks when they go. You gave him a happy life. Maybe throw up some plywood for garage door till you can find something that you like! Just a thought!! Wood burning stove is next, nice to have heat. Did you ever use a pellet stove, self feeding. Fill up the feeder and good for days. Pellets are cheap, keep them in a trash barrel, nice & neat. They throw a ton of heat. Check them out. Good Luck 👍 Vinny 🇺🇸
HELLO FROM MONTREAL ! well I have been watching your videos since day one and there's no words to describe how much proud i am of you, can wait to see your dream come true, (a bien tôt)
daniel croteau thank you for the support...
I feel for you and the family....that's always such a hard decision to make-to put our best friend down. But it's good to know they aren't suffering anymore. The house looks great, and it's refreshing to see someone pay attention to the details when installing windows. Nice job!
So sorry about your pooch, I know how ya feel. However, the house is really coming together and your doing a GREAT job. God bless, Merry CHRISTmas and work SAFE!
great work superb video so sorry about you best friend
Never easy losing a loved one. Sorry for the families loss. I know installing the windows is a milestone and a great feeling. Congratulations on your accomplishments. God Bless.
Very sorry to hear about your pup. It's hard to lose a family member.
So sorry for the loss of your best dog friend. It just hurts, no way around it. We are so lucky to have a special dog in our lives. When I was liking this video, I saw you are up to 20,000 subs, go for you, that a lot of folks watching you build this homestead.
So sorry to hear about your dog. The house is looking great! Such good progress each week.
So sorry for your loos of Kona! What a Beautiful soul. My 4 boys (dogs) and I have watch you build this true labor of love for your family. They get so excited when they see your pups they start barking. It also has helped me to be a bit kinder to myself about how long it's taking to get back on my feet from major neck and spine surgery. My brain wants to get back to working on my house projects but my body is not ready to move in the way I need to. They caged up my spine and put rods to support what is left of a decaying spine. My spine is stronger now than ever before but learning the limitations has been a challenge. If you find you ever need to have your spine worked on I know a excellent spine surgeon. He was the only one out of 10 that would take my case on. Most said my spine was to far gone to make a difference. Two weeks after my surgery I was walking again. So not bad. Be safe! I know you will.
May the Universe shine good fortunes upon you and your wonderful family. Thanks for sharing!
LOVE REPSECT KINDNESS ONLY MATTERS! Spread IT!
Looks great!! Nice job on the window flashing,no leaks there!! Must be a good feeling to get her closed up!! Sorry to hear about your good friend!
Sad to hear about your beautiful dog Kona.
To lose a family pet is heart wrenching...I’m so sorry for your family. God bless.
Sorry for your loss!
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I know what our canine family members bring to the table. I have a golden who is closing in on his last act as well. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
I'm so very sorry to hear about Kona!
Good job sir. Well done.
Bet it was a great feeling being inside wind and water tight. Sorry to hear about kona x x
When you get to the electrical are you going to wire it for 120vac off an inverter or wire it for 12/24vdc to run right off batteries?
A few 12v outlets in the rooms and you can get car chargers for things like radios/laptops/tablets/phones.
The more you can get off the inverter the better overall as lights and phone charging can be run strait from the batteries bypassing the heater known as inverting.
When I built my cabin, I actually wired for both. Since it was new construction it was very easy to do at the same time. This give me such options for the future.
Sorry for you and your families loss! A dog is is as much a family member as any person. I never realized how they can touch your heart until I experienced it for myself.
One day at a time my friend!
Beautiful windows!!!!!
Sorry for your lost.
SO ,SO SAD !! R.I.P. DEAR FRIEND ....... NO WORDS.....
O man I hate to here about kona it’s never good losing a member, yes a family member.... prayers you find some peace🙏🏻🐾🐶
Sorry to hear about Kona. I personally think God recreates all the animals ever living - - they didn't choose to come into a sin-ravaged world. Just my $0.02.
MARVELOUS news on the drying in -- Looks so amazing and done so quickly! I was nervous seeing you start so late in the season on this, and have prayed for it getting dried in before any deep winter arrives. So congrats on being able to get er done - not many have the fortitude to push forward so resiliently and persistently.
RelentlessHomesteading thanks for the prayers...
You Betcha!! Your videos are inspirational -- thanks.
What does God actually say, that's the key to not being a sinner in a sin filled world, his Word... God bless
Man, came for the window install time lapse install, left with wet eyes. I'm sorry about your loss, I'm going to give my pup a hug, thanks for reminding me to be thankful.
Sorry to hear about Kona at least she's in a better place without pain, I've got a black lab that's 13 and he's had hip problems and pain to
but it will be his time to leave this earth to, their part of the family it's like loosing one of your kids. Glad to see the windows are in, now for a door so you can get some heat in there ( warmer is good ) to finish the inside. Thank you Larry
It is tuff to put down a life long friend. We had to say good by to our Yellow Lab many years ago, he was 14 years old and was part of the family. I feel for your lost.
House is going great, keep up the work. - Jeff

Windows... Done! Time to get the wood stove fired up !! Then we can have a fireside chat every week. Todays was a good talk. Very sad about your dog..... man's best friend. tear
That was one of my worst days when I had to put down my golden retriever . Loved that dog!!
Like my dogs more than some people...
Nice Job. One Man Stop n Shop. You're doing a great job on the homestead. I've been watching you all day today. Spent my High School Years in Kuna, South West, Idaho back in the late 70's, I really miss Idaho. Sorry to hear about your buddy, I have a feeling we'll be putting down our family dog of 13 years in the next year. We've lost three cats in the last 20 years, one just last December 13th. It's never easy saying goodbye to family pets, they give so much and add so much to our lives. Anyways keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya PS love the music!
My prayers are with you, so hard to loose a part of the family!
Very sorry to hear about Kona. I know how it feels to lose a friend .
Sad news about your dog.. ... But, respect for the work you do! And fast to, all alone! respect!
Fantastic job! We're amazed at your tenacity! It's paying off. So sorry to hear about Kona! So sad.
We lost our lab last summer and we have not recovered but his memories will last.
Great job on the windows, all coming together! Exciting
Good touch with the care you put in sealing the windows with the Tyvek and overlapping them properly to steer moisture out. That House deserves some serious thermal insulation in those walls and roof. I hope you go for the max.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss. At the end of the day they are family.
Very sorry for your loss I know what it's like to lose one but on a happier note the house is looking great keep up the good work
It is coming a long awesome. Very sorry about Mona. Rip over the Rainbow bridge.
Sorry for your loss, it's hard to lose family. As for your windows install, very cool way to do it using your front end loader.
So sorry about Kona, I have been there several times in my life and it’s sure hard.
In my opinion dogs only have one single fault ‘ they don’t live long enough’ god bless them.
Stay strong and keep up the great work.
House is looking great. Sorry about your dog, that really sucks
Red Poppy, just came across your channel a week or so ago. Just very inspiring and overall great production. You are an inspiration in regards to your technical ability, your foresight for what you want for yourself and your family, and seem to be a man that we can all learn something from. I watched many of your videos already and didn't realize you had another dog, Kona. my apologies for the lost of man's best friend. I'm sure she lived a great and fulfilling life.
So sorry to hear about your best friend. Keep at it....x
I know that feeling is not what you need for you beloved pet. It is hard I feel for you
The nice thing about loosing Kona is that she /he lives on in your heart and will be with you no matter where you are.
sorry for the loss, I put my Lab down Nov. last . I understand the pain of seeing a family member go thru the agony . Memorys
Aww poppy... Sad !
Great job on the shop house, especially on getting it dried in. So sorry for the loss of Kona. I have lost 4 Boxers over the years and it's very difficult. Still miss them to this day. Hope the kids will be alright. I have a question about windows. I know you bought them around a year ago. On the video where you mentioned the cost to date to get to this point was about $10k, did that figure include windows? Did it include septic? Just wondering as I am trying to budget for something similar in the near future. Thanks for your financial transparency and have a Merry Christmas!
Greg Lee no. Probably closer to $15k with septic and Windows.
You are getting there bro. Looks good
It’s better than this old house series 👋🏼
Dude. I don't have the words to express how impressed MANY of us are with what you've you've accomplished BY YOURSELF there. Please remember this post when you're too tired to fall sleep. Much respect.
Sigh....The only 'downside' with dogs is that they don't outlive us. Even as full as my many dogs have made my long life, they've each left a void that can never be filled. For me personally, 'lonely' can only be described as living without a good dog.
R.I.P. KONA
Wow! You have some balls to do all that by your self. Can't wait for more videos.
So sorry about your dog! 😢
The build is coming together very nicely! Amazing you're doing all that on your own. Sorry to hear about Kona. I hope you get another Yellow Lab. They're at the top of my canine list. All the very best to you all!
sorry about your dog.went through it with our dog in August.
Super nice , you should get some heat in there to dry it out some , be for the drywall , you know but looks amazing bud
Sorry to hear about your family member Kona. We are dog family too, we had to our lab down six months ago . Keep up the good work.
So sad when we lose part of our family, pets are the best, sorry for your loss
