  • Copenhagen has a global reputation for being bike-friendly, but this does not mean that the cycling facilities have been easy to come by. They are in fact the result of a long political struggle that is continuing to this day.
In this film, you can learn how and why Copenhagen became the bike-friendly city it is today.
It is part of a group of films for the New Nordic Lexicon where researchers are asked to choose a concept, event or object that represents their research. Natalie Marie Gulsrud, Associate Professor from the University of Copenhagen, chose the bicycle. Natalie is interviewed by Jasmin Adolph from Södertörn University and Gaëtan Gamba from the University of Helsinki.
This film was made with support from the A.P. Moller Foundation, and is produced by nordics.info at Aarhus University which grew out of the university hub Reimagining Norden in an Evolving World (supported by NordForsk).
