Wow. My husband was a good driver but never told me what thoughts went through his head when he was lining up for a Feature race. I enjoy watching you Racing and will watch future races and know how much thoughts are going through your head. No wonder drivers are exhausted after a Feature Race as not only is the body exhausted but so is the brain. I am 77 now but watch every Sprint Car race on Utube. Never will I get sick of them. Your a young man and I wish you much further success in your chosen occupation. Best wishes from Australia for your future………Mares
Gravel, please do more of these. I absolutely love this. It’s so cool to watch this and then watch the highlights on woo/dirt vision. People don’t realize the thought behind every single move and turn.
As a young racer it it awesome to watch and listen to what you ya going through your head learned a lot would like to see more. And how you read the track and lines
Thank you for taking the time for this, Dave. From a fans perspective, it doesn’t look like you guys have time to think yet you do. Not for one of these on a crazy little bull ring like Pevely or Silver Dollar! Been a fan since you were 16 when I met you at Eldora running both classes at the Royal. Keep on keepin on!!!
I understand it is definitely a team effort to combine driving, set-up, chassis , motor, suspension, track advice and throw in some fairy dust. Good memories man.
I'M 65 and always have been interested in racing always a spectator. My home track was Waukegan Speedway and then Wilmot .Now days the home track is Kokomo, and I follow the non wings around. You are an Amazing person for doing these UA-cam Videos. I really like your explanations, and experiences of your POV in racing. You are a good Man. THANK YOU! And you have a non wing fan pulling for you everywhere you go! I may see you in the future somewhere in the Midwest. Be Safe!
More more more !!!! Soooo cool David.. and congratulations... Knoxville's track is absolutely the best in the country. You slew the giant..I'm from there and remember AJ Foyt getting beat by Earl Wagner in the 60s.. really hope you get this years championship..
This was great to hear. You need to do this again. Also, could be get a pedal cam? Always have wanted to see that. Thanks and good luck at Knoxville this weekend.
David.... Thank you so much for this vid. As a fan this is the coolest thing for you to do! It makes us feel like we are totally with you in the car. Thanks a ton man. Hope you do more of these. Oh, and can you spread the word with other drivers? A Chili Bowl ply by play would be sick. Hey good luck with Nascar... we are pulling for ya brotha!
Awesome, I personally love these types of vids. A play by play, if you will, from the perspective of the driver. To hear your thoughts and reactions as the events happened, it just gives a new and totally different perspective. Keep up the good work. Congrats.
Cool video like hearing what's going on during the race for ya and congrats on the win. My only complaint has nothing to do with you, it's about the Nationals themselves. I only live 2hrs away from knoxville and have yet to see the Nationals in person and since they started the nascar pit stop I have no intention of going and I don't even watch it on tv anymore. For whatever reason they started it, more drama, give crews a chance to get up front, decrease engine wear, no running out of fuel, give drivers a rest period, drivers whining they don't have a chance to run up front, the same guys winning all the time,or what ever it has killed what sprint car racing is about. As far as the same drivers winning it that hasn't changed much cause Donny has been winning them alot regardless. On bit of a soap box here but it's annoying to see knoxville change the Nationals which is sprint car racing's version of the Indy 500 to something like nascar. Personally, If they want to run 50 laps have the Nationals like they were from the start non wing 50 laps. then you'd have usac guys coming and running too, and have alot closer racing than with a wing. Wing cars going that fast have a hard time getting close without taking the air off the nose wing and loosing downforce. Just my 2 cents but it'd be more interesting than it is now.
I know this is a old video but u should do this sometimes once in awhile. Def cool hearing ur thoughts and stuff during a race. Been watching all of ur videos I watched ur newest one and this video started to play after that one lol
Huge thanks for this video. I was lucky to attend the race. This was one of the best commentaries I have seen for a sprint car race. Hope to see you in Knoxville in 2020 to defend!
That was absolutely amazing haven’t been to the races in so long put it this way I was used to going and rooting for Brent kaeding at baylands in Cali I will be a permanent viewer of your channel thanks for the ride along with commentary 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You should definitely do more videos like this. This was awesome. I can only dream to race some day, but man is it cool to watch it all from your perspective...
You seemed in full control the whole race. I could tell where you were each lap cause you never deviated from your chosen line: bottom in 1and 2, cushion in 3 and 4. Nice work David. Race seems to go by really fast!
Hey David. ,, Man I’m a Big Fan. Been Watching you Race for Quite a While Your one Heck of a Driver. I’ve Always Wanted to Drive a SprintCar. Keep the Hammer Down ,,, Because at Knoxville you were for sure Haulin the Mail.
How do you keep your nerves leading a big race and ward off that anxious feeling? I asked Scott Bloomquist how he does it and he simply said "I don't get nervous in big races". So I thought I'd ask you. Great win and I was pulling for you and the team all season!
I thought it was great! Especially being a new driver it was nice to hear what your thoughts are in certain situations. It helps me learn lessons even though i can't be out there putting laps in right now. I'm a "game tape" type of learner so more of these would be awesome. Plus, I was at that race and it was my first trip to Knoxville so it was a special race for me. Great video man.
I loved watching this man. I used to race Micros and Knoxville is my home track so it was awesome to see all of it go down first person and your commentary was great! I'd watch all of them that you do in the future.
Hey, great video 👍🏻 What way is the front wheel setup? It looks like the steering is setup like tractors were back in the day, but to me it looks really sloppy or lose?.. This is all new to me as here in Ireland we are European so I’d love to learn more about this 👍🏻 🏁
The Basic DNA of Sprint car tech is a Model A Ford, solid beam sprung front axle, pitman arm and drag link steering, torque tube driveline etc. it really was crazy when i realized this while restoring a 29 model A sedan. The steering It can be sloppy if u dont have it set up right or worn parts, but if u have a firm torsion bar in the power steering box its all pretty solid. At low speed it looks real sloppy because of the 11ish degree spindle layback, thats what makes them look real bouncy/sloppy while idling around on like a caution lap.
"Its there some nights but not that night"
This was a awesome video. Thanks
This Is So BadAss!!!!!! I Just Now Watched This! Merry Christmas To You And Family!!!!
That was so cool hearing what was going through your mind during the race.
seriously!
I Just Watch But It’s So Cool
this is what you call poetry in motion.
Fantastic share congrats and thanks. Yes your lay over commentary was great value.
Please do more of these! This is very informative on how to think during a race.
Very cool hearing your thoughts and perspective on how the race unfolds. Definitely would like to see more.
Stay safe!!
Congratulations on that win man! Epic!

It’s amazing how much that front left wheel takes a beating. Couldn’t keep my eyes off it. Awesome vid man
That is the only thing you could see!!!!!
David Reed I couldn’t stop watching it! It’s amazing. Crazy how it stays on haha
I understand it is definitely a team effort to combine driving, set-up, chassis , motor, suspension, track advice and throw in some fairy dust. Good memories man.

Hey David, great content, I’ve never had a driver do what you did tonight. Started following last year and look for your downloads all the time.

You should just have driving on your mind. But thats not the case.
Fantastic. Only thing that could ever be better, is talking during the race. Unbelievable.
What rim guys run best on market period shit.
The only people who gave this a thumbs down are likely Joey Saldana fans haaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha
Dig it
