When I was a junior Pan Am flight attendant I used to fly to London five times a month. London was very inexpensive compared to the States back then, and you could buy a ticket to a play for a dollar. Several times I stood outside the stage door after the plays and got autographs of famous actors. It looks like you had a great layover and saw so much.

She had not been enjoying life as much as she was used to since last October and her health was failing.

So nice to see you in the UK! You need a longer layover with Eric! Definitely make time for places like the V and A museum, Greenwich park and the royal observatory, Covent Garden, borough market, British museum, Wimbledon and the all England tennis museum, the list is endless. Dishoom is amazing. Fortnum and mason is a must for some tea and biscuits. Sadly we are mourning the loss of our beloved Queen but it’s wonderful to see the country come together and pay our respects for her unwavering service. Safe travels and come back soon!

Omg Julia you have to go on the Harry Potter tour it is amazing. I am 57 and I had my son when I was 37. He grow up reading the books and watching the film's. We shared this as we both loved the books and films. I took him when he was 11 and it was absolutely amazing. My guess is it will be even better now. Seriously you have to go.
I loved this vlog. I enjoyed seeing the scenery, especially since the loss of Queen Elizabeth. My Dickerson family ancestors came over from London here to the Colonies about 1650. So, I would love to see more of London. Take care and Happy New Week!!
I had wondered if you were in London after the Queen had passed but I see this was filmed a little while ago. Glad you enjoyed your time there. I think you made the right choice trading Honolulu for this. I am sure there will be many opportunities for you to fly to HI or FL where the beaches are great and the weather is always nice. The first class cabin on the plane looked very nice. Would like to fly in those seats someday!

What a lovely vlog, I’ve walked passed Kensington palace but never been it’s on my list for next time.
I went to the HP studio tour on Halloween last year, it was AMAZING. I walked into the Great Hall and I was so emotional and I didn’t expect to feel that way at all. Your right, the studios are in Watford which is about an hour outside of London.

I’m in so much shock about the Queen, she’s been a staple figure in one way or another for the whole of millions of peoples lives, how amazing is it that Tuesday, two days before she passed, she was still working. 🥹 we all knew that we would be getting a new prime minister this week but none of us could have foreseen a new monarch in the same week as well 😢

She met with Boris Johnson to accept his resignation, then Truss the new female Prime Minister to form a government. And less than three days later she is dead. She served her country to the end. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

Hi Julia, I got around to watching this at last. So glad you enjoyed London. Of course, we are in mourning at the moment after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. I am off to London on Thursday, it's two hours by train from where I am and I am hopefully off to see the Queen lying in state. Definitely I would recommend a West End show if you get a chance to see one. xxx

Today is Saturday, September 10, 2022 here. That makes tomorrow the 21st anniversay of the Attacks of 911. I wan on a layover in Manchester, England where we remained for six days. I had hired one of the flight attendants. It is still a sad memory. I have all of the newspaper clippings, issues of the multi-color union publications that were dedicated to the crewmembers. There were several. I also have the company tributes. I finally put everything in a medium size box, wrapped it in plastic and have it stored in my home. I have no idea what I will ever do with it. I am 67 year old now and retired. Tomorrow I will speak with some friends. Also, I would wake up during the night and go down to the front desk. I made a friend with a receptionist there. She has retired but we still keep in touch. Be well all.
Hi Julia, love your vlogs - Big Ben is actually a bell behind the clock face. Did your hear the bell. The best way to get around London is by foot. Lovely tour of our capital city. Lovely to see it through a visitor’s eyes. Try and get to York one day! Judi xxx

I’m a new hire flight attendant and I’m learning so much from you! Couple questions.. how do you decide what you wanna do on the city that you layover at? And do you usually go by yourself or with crew? I really need to get better at traveling alone and not just waist my layover sleeping..
If you like Bath be sure to visit Oxford as well. It's 50 minutes by train from Central London ☺
There used to be a half price ticket booth in Piccadilly Circus where you can pick up tickets for shows on the West End at reduced prices. They’re mostly single seats. Next time, make your way there and grab a show.
Take a bus tour to Stonehenge and Bath. The bus will take you directly to Stonehenge and then to Bath without you having to find taxicabs.

I love London! My absolute favorite city. You had a great day there, Julia. If you do get back, Bath is about an hour and a half by train from London and definitely worth it. The Harry Potter studio tour is also worth it. You can take the train to Watford Junction and there is a shuttle bus that will take you directly to the studio.
RIP, Queen Elizabeth. What a remarkable lady.
P.S. - I saw The Mousetrap during one of my trips to London, an Agatha Christie play. Definitely worthwhile. Also was fortunate to see the Queen Symphonic. Would definitely agree to catch a show while in London!

So great that you got the chance to go again to London! Big Ben looks much different and a lot better after all the renovations. Also really liked that tunnel section through the Memorial Gardens you visited.

And there is another street I think it in Bond Street
And lots of transportation
Heathrow airport
Gatwick airport

11:30 London being that far north, there is a period from May 24 to July 21 where you don't see true night, just astronomical twilight. And sunrise is at around 4:40 or so in the morning.

Nice vlog, as usual, HM Queen Elizabeth II was one of the most iconic figures for the last 2 centuries she will be remembered as the longest female monarch in history, however to me Lady Diana was and always will be the Queen of people's hearts 💕......I missed Luna though 🐕🤗

For bath and Stonehenge the best way is by coach. Coaches pick up from most hotels in LONDON. Pre book on the internet.
Glad you enjoyed London. Bath is about 90mins from London Paddington on the train and worth the trip if you like architecture.

Hello. Did you pick up a newspaper or two announcing the Queens passing? I was there when Princess died. I did purchase a couple of newspapers on the morning after she passed. A bit of a note for those of you who were not around. Many British citizens, who were in bed asleep when she died, found out when they woke up and picked up the newspaper on their doorstep. They looked at the headline it was in bold letters "DIANA IS DEAD." There was a large and beautiful picture of her. I suppose that in many of the small vlliages and towns don't not turn the television when they first get up.
We were fortunate to catch the Changing of the Guard when we were in London in 2007. It was fabulous. We also did Bath and Stonehenge (This was extremely important to my wife).
Oslo is also like this. Just a walk in the streets is a whole beautiful architectural experience. Thanks for your contents, a blending of my two passions: travel and aviation.

Harry Potter studio tour gets booked up months in advance I'm afraid. Getting to the studio is very easy. You get a train to Watford Junction (just outside Greater London) from Euston station in central London. Takes just under 30 minutes. Then there's a shuttle bus that runs regularly between Watford Junction and Harry Potter studio.
Be warned the cheapest rail tickets for your Bath trip get released 12 weeks in advance. The closer to travel the dearer they can be.
Diana was the breath of fresh air much needed by the Royals. Great city, my family live very close to London. Had loads of fun as a kid in London. Kov ent gardens lol. Glad you enjoyed London, it is a great city. Did you ride the London Eye?
