If you ever end up scraping gasket off of a block again have a shop vac in the other hand to vacuum up the debris that just fell into the engine's passages.
I would not trust any of those generic gasket kits. Although you have a metal gasket and rubber seals that “feel pretty good”, I don’t think they are going to last. In my experience all other seals besides OEM seals and gaskets, they fail prematurely. The only head gasket I’d trust besides OEM is Cometic. It’s cool an all that you have a sponsorship for your parts but seems like they might not be the best source for “high quality parts”. Hopefully you won’t be replacing your head gasket anytime soon because of that choice. One of the important steps you missed when reassembling is that you didn’t check for any warping on the head or block with a straight edge and a feeler gauges. There is a chance that your head gasket blew because you warped your head and now it needs to be machined flat again to create a good seal. It’s also probably best that would get all new OEM gaskets and APR head studs and install them. I would not reuse old head bolts because if your head gaskets blew, chances are the head bolts stretched. This will also lead to premature failure. I highly recommend doing more research about engine basics before you start taking parts an engine.
He won’t listen man that’s the problem, he’ll just go for the cheap seals and gaskets and then get confused why they are leaking or break, like you said most times it’s oem parts or a extremely trusted brand or nothing but oh well he might understand when it blows up 🤷♂️
pistons wont make it rev higher. Sure it can reduce weight on the bottom end, but when wanting a higher rev limit, improving the valvetrain is better for miatas
