- Hey folks! Sorry for the long time between uploads; as you could imagine by the length of this video it took me quite a while to edit. But I finally got to finish this super long video of all my swimbait gear going into the 2024 season. I went over all my baits, from soft baits to wakes to multi jointed swimmers to glides, and even went over my rod and reel setups I use to throw all these baits. You and me both man! Our ponds thawed out for a week and I did get to squeak out a fishing video so that’ll be coming up at some point but they’ve since frozen up again

I love me some big baits, and have always been a collector at heart; to be able to collect something super cool like swimbaits, and also be able to get use out of that thing is kinda the best of both worlds. 11:24 Boil some water and dip the tail for 15 seconds, no more at first. That should relax the plastisol enough to get it kickin. 👍🏻
Appreciate the tip man! I’ve tried that, it did make a bit of a difference but they’re still pretty stiff. I think they’ll just be big summer softies to fish semi fast over deeper grass 🤙🏾

i have a scorpion md too, fantastic reel. i think its basically a jdm tranx with micromodule gears so it makes sense that its a great reel
Yeah man I love my scorpion! Could probably use a good cleaning but overall great reels. Been thinking about grabbing a bunch of the older scorpions as well, the old maroon one is awesome
Btw, the scorpion is the JDM curado, the JDM Tranx is a reel called the Grappler. But they’re all based on the curado frame originally! Little fun fact lolol (I spend wayyyyyyyy too much time on Shimano forums 😂) tight lines homie 🤙🏾
@@spicecantfish1321 the scorpion must be somewhere in the middle because the brake system and drag are the same as a tranx but maybe a curado 300 is also like that too
Yeah I mean they’ll all have differences between them in terms of the gearing and internals, I was more talking about the frame they build the reels around. That’s why the curados, the scorpions and the Tranxs all look very similar, they’re all built off the same frame so they’ll feel and look the same besides small differences/color schemes
@@spicecantfish1321 yea the body on a tranx 300 is like identical to the scorpion 300, tranx and curado isna bit different but ive never even held a curado 300 so maybe the curado 300 is the same shape as the tranx too

It might be this year haha! I’ve only got a few more baits I really want in the arsenal at the moment, and the hinkle Shad is on the list for sure. But I’ve also got 3 massive wakebaits I wanna add to the arsenal first cuz I feel like I’ll get more use out of them as a shallow water guy who fishes mostly bluegill based fisheries. But once I get a Mob, a Black Dog Bubba and a UFO mothership the Hank will most likely be next (if I haven’t gone homeless by that point)
Bro send that bad Zimmer to WT Lureworks William Tenborg and have him put a smoking paint job on that thing. His pricing is super fair and he’s a stand up guy.
The issue is that due to whatever the base coat on the bait is (that silver stuff) the paint doesn’t adhere or stick to the bait very well, so it wouldn’t be worth it to have someone repaint it since the paint would just flake off same as it did originally. That’s why the folks over at zimmer preferred to send me a whole new one instead of just repainting the original. I think I’ll rattle can that one, but I’ll keep him in mind for future paint jobs! Dude yeah I just recently heard about it, looks dope! Had I not just grabbed the Antares I would have snagged one, but maybe in the future. Just can’t justify having more than 4 swimbait rods fishing from the bank/out of a kayak haha. But it’s on the list for sure
