So sorry that happened. That experience is what keep so many people with challenges from attempting to take excursions. Kathy please email your experience to the higher ups at Celebrity thru the special needs dept also it might help others. You and Mattie are wonderful advocates with tons of experience..❤❤

Thank you! We will be contacting them and hopefully prevent something like this from happening to others. Excursions are important and should be guaranteed. Celebrity needs to do better.

I went with a Tours by Locals in Ushuaia. The Train to the End of the World really isn’t “accessible.” At least until they finish the station at the end. Until they do, you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get back to the parking lot! Fortunately, my guide knew people working there & was able to get us across the tracks through the construction site. Also, the train cars are very small (they crammed 6 of us into one car) & there is a gap you have to step across to get into the train. I am able to walk short distances so this wasn’t a problem & my chair stayed in the guide’s vehicle. She picked us up at the end & then took us through the National Park & to the End of the Highway. That part IS accessible, & has a pathway through it.

I’m glad that worked for you. Thanks for letting us know about the accessibility on the train. It doesn’t sound like it will be wheelchair friendly any time soon, if ever.

Not really, unless you can get her to the train & situated first (that’s not an issue as the boarding station IS accessible), then have her chair either with you or with the guide. The seating we had was a car with two upholstered benches facing each other & 3 of us were plus sized. It was still comfortable. I think other cars had different seating arrangements but I don’t know what those were. There is one stop where they encourage you to get out for about 20 minutes for pictures. There are benches available to sit on. It really is a beautiful spot. But the National Park & End of the Highway are much more accessible. If you go back & want a recommendation, I can highly recommend Barbara Avalos through Tours By Locals. She picked us up right at the ship, too.

I don't blame you for being furious one little bit. How they couldn't apologize I don't know. obviously you need to have the photos all be on your phone so you can whip them out immediately to show the people exactly what you have photocopied. Seems to me they could've put you in a taxi or something for the segment with the bus.. you really should bump this upstairs and request some sort of major compensation for this snafu.
