This song is so well written and performed that it has a double interpretation. You can look at it from the point of view that she is the victim and the one who dies because of her husband's mistreatment. But you can also see the song from the point of view that it is the husband who dies after all those years of abuse, asks for her forgiveness on his deathbed and she denies him that forgiveness. In both cases it is a very sad song. I'm not a fan of Diana Navarro, but I loved this song from the first minute I heard it.
Is this performance and this song by Diana Navarro really one of the best at the level of a Diva? I think so, without a doubt, because I have seen more than 50 reactions to this video on UA-cam. All the reactions were from people who do not know Spanish and did not understand any of the lyrics of the song, and even so, all of them were very excited, with goose bumps and some of them had tears in their eyes. So it is clear that if an artist can get those feelings from all those people who do not understand the lyrics, that means that Diana Navarro is transmitting feelings on a higher level than other singers and that has enormous value as an artist.
