If you do this again I’d add “catch a shiny Pokémon” to the list. Especially in later gen games where shiny hunting methods are a little easier

I don't understand how people shiny hunt. I've been hunting Spiritomb for the past month, and I still haven't found it.
@@Estalarki Patience my man. Spiritomb I would recommend doing Masuda Method, but if you're playing in BDSP and you haven't finished the national dex to get the charm (which I'm 160 hours in and still missing some swarms) it's not gonna be easy.

Despite how easy the games are, I love the gen 6 games because they’re good fun despite their lack of much challenge until the post game.
Exactly, I completely agree. I’m hoping that X and Y eventually get remakes because I absolutely love the region.
Yeah, the difficulty can be somewhat flawed but the actual region/experience is pretty fun and actually doesn’t have a garbage story like gen 8
@@mrmatt7246 gen 8's story is so much better, the rival is actually a character, leon is pretty interesting, and the story is actually quite good if you pay attention to the mithology of the region. It's only the second region after unova i think that is unsure about it's legendaries existence
@@Mqstodon I totally agree gen 8's story is better than gen 6's, I love Kalos but way too many characters and ideas are underdeveloped (the champion is a holo shell of a character which is sad TwT) so I agree. that's why I'm hoping for eventual remakes to improve on the story and characters since the region has so much potential

Pokemon XY is underrated. I love Kalos region for geography, music, style. Next to Alola.

@@HistoricalNerd tbh, every pokemon game is easy in plots. But you can always turn off exp share or/and change team frequently to make game more challenging.

Same, I’ve been doing black 2 hardcore nuzlokes for at least a month now and it’s tiring. I plan on doing just a Pokémon Y nuzloke with some of these included for fun.
It’s ashamed I don’t see many x and y play throughs. The music is so relaxing, the Megas were cool, and everyone’s style was awesome

X and Y might be easy games, but that's their charm, even in a nuzlocke this game can be a breeze to complete, it's good to come back to Kalos once in a while to relax a bit and have fun.
As of recently, I've re-run it for the first time since 2016 (goodbye old savefile, maybe if I modded it sometime before, I wouldn't have to mourn that). I'll preface by saying I bought into the SM hype and transferred all valuables via Bank only to get my attachment to the franchise severed with Moon. Since the 2016 Christmas until the last weeks, I've had Pokémon fall out of interest (with the newer gens and remakes, it felt whatever was invested on XY for the future wound up in nothing). And while XY has some of the mistakes that these future games haven't fixed, it still manages to feel vibrant in comparison (just texturing alone is the trump card on the graphics).
It's far from perfect, but I think it now has a soft spot for rekindling what was once an extinct ember. Who knows if any potential remake would fix the underlying issues, but it might be my lack of trust on GF talking here. Perhaps it's all filed and schemed, hoping to be realized at last.

What happened to me playing X and Y: *vibin hard to the Gym battle theme*
Shame the Gym leaders were easy. The Pokémon League in Kalos is still my favorite, design wise. I mean that building is absolutely gorgeous and it's a Smash Bros stage for a reason. But just like the Gym leaders, it's a shame the Elite Four were too easy to fully appreciate it
XY feels much more like a design based game than a mechanicly based one, the cities in Kalos are probably some of the better looking ones and feel like actual towns. Not to say other games had bad designg but for example; Luminoise feels like a real city. I can't remember the last time I replayed gen 6 and didn't get lost in that maze of cafes and streets.

Edit: I forgot to give credit where credit is due - that is, PapaSea's 100 Days video and of course, the Minecraft 100 Days videos (don't know who started this trend). I loved PapaSea videos, but the 100 Days concept seemed a bit arbitrary in Pokemon, so I came up with the 100 Hours thing. Below is the original post!
Thank you to all that dropped by and subbed from this video! My next '100 Hours' video will probably be on ORAS, and then continuing on this trend: Gen V -> Gen IV -> either Gen VII/VIII. In doing so, the difficulty spike will ramp up gradually.
I've never really been on the Shiny train, but since everyone and their mothers (I might be exaggerating here) are asking about it, I'll definitely try to add it to the next set of objectives.

Kalos region got sunffed, we didn't get our Pokemon Z sequel. Why did they have to break the formula. I mean sure it's okay for Pokemon to get seuqels like Pokemon BW and BW2 and Sun and Moon to get Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. But not getting Pokemon Z was a mistake. It could really flesh out Kalos and have more side quests that was not present in X and Y.
I agree I wish they did more for Kalos since Zygarde was kinda just there instead of making zygarde a glorified scavenger hunt in sun and moon
I'm still astonished kalos didn't get anything in the way of a third game. I guess maybe gf decided that zygards got its justice in the anime, and that they'd rather put the zygarde stuff into sumo and work on the next generation rather than hope to make a better gen 6 game.
well, XY2 (or whatever they might call it) was planned, but scrapped. (there is evidence for for it, but it wasn't officially stated)
so we got a heavily nerfed kalos experience overall. Who knows how far along the development process they were before they had to start changing up their plans for it.

The Pokémon community never ceases to amaze me in its creativity, I would kill to see more of this, man!! Hell, I might try it myself in BDSP, looks like a blast!
The thing I like so much about kalos is it’s a relaxing game. It’s not super hard but still feels like your doing stuff throughout the game. Definitely worth visiting after trying for weeks on black 2 hardcore nuzlokes.
I really enjoyed this video! It was something refreshingly different. Maybe it was a tad bit easy, due to it being Kalos and 100h being a long time, so I wonder how this type of challenge would fare in other regions with a different time constraint. I would watch it!
Thank you! The fact that we don't have to catch the Pokemon to complete the dex definitely made it a lot easier. Obtaining the Black Cards in the other games would probably be a lot tougher
Ik this is when Pokemon started to go down hill but I still genuinely enjoy gen 6. I really miss enjoying Pokemon honestly.
I think Ultra Sun/Moon are better than XY, I still love XY though and have way more nostalgia for it

@@czsup8967 yeah I think gen 1 2 and 3 are classics and will always be loved gen 4 and 5 were underrated gen 6 was relaxing gen 7 was amazing and added so much life to the pokeverse and ill be honest sword and shield are OK but they should have been better

For those who are wondering you actually can get poison heal gylscor, horde battles occasionally have pokemon with hidden abilities and you can get glygar hordes on the route with the swamp after the flare incident.

I miss Pokemon y and x overall as a game and anime i'd say it's my second favorite game only because soul silver was my first and holds a special place in my heart. It was so refreshing and felt like I could play over and over again i loved the Pokemon story the side things and everything else. And the anime my god the Pokemon anime never looked so good and never did ash feel so strong it also reminds me of the simple days. Overall really nice to see this video 😊

This video was perfect, could you maybe do an oras 100 hours but with more challenges and more footage ? Or maybe you can carry on a single series to 200 and 300 hours. Maybe have challenges like, build a competitive pvp team, catch a shiny (probably not) or obtain all the oras legendaries

You can get poison heal gliscor without friend safari if you grind hordes on route 19 for gligar then you just have to evolve it

pokemon xy was such a good game and personally is topping most other new games Made. it introduces mega evolution which was enough and had a good story with good characters.

Man I've got some great news for all of you
i’ve been replaying Y and doing a shiny only run… I got the starter in 10 resets but as of right now i’m over 100 hours looking for my 3rd shiny because the first one i caught was a shiny male combee 😩
I’ve clocked 350+ hours in Pokemon Y. Completed the national dex, got a living dex, and have numerous boxes full of shinies.
cutting down 100 hours into 18 minutes, pretty sick.
