    Beautiful and lovely place. Some areas and mesmerizing views remind me The Ireland, with beaches and especially cliffs they have over there.

    Enjoy your content. Have you ever considered going to the Haida Gwaii / Queen Charlotte Islands. They seem fascinatingly remote, however im finding it hard to access any information on the islands.

      I visited in 2017, just before I became a vlogger! I wish I had filmed it as it’s an incredible part of Canada - now you’re making me think I need to head back there and film it! 👍

    I’m from Montreal and Les Îles de la Madeleine have become my #1 vacation destination for the past few years! Although the tour has obviously brought you to some nice spots, I highly recommend taking a full week-long retreat there to explore the archipelago on your own, so much to discover! Cheers

      I would have loved to explore for a full week! This was a press trip, so I was working with the local tourism board and discovering the island on a set schedule. But, I definitely would love to come back and discover it on a longer trip sometime in the future - beautiful archipelago!

    Dave...
    When you were looking at/filming your smoked fish, the background was the gravel parking lot. If you held it up a bit, we could not only see it but a better background, so killing two birds with one stone.
    Secondly, you could have brought us into sampling your beer samplers with you as you told us how they tasted, which you preferred, etc.. I would have been interested. Same thing with the lobster roll (in what looks like a simple hot dog bun).
    I think I noticed earlier you had another video version, so maybe it's in that one.
    Thanks for the show. I wonder how the swimming, if any, is there. Like if it's warm enough and when.

      Thanks for the feedback. Much of what you've described was cut from the video because the camera wasn't in focus. Lots of each video usually ends up on the cutting room floor. If you're looking for a more polished video, I'd stick to professionally-produced Netflix travel documentaries, not a regular guy with a small camera who's going about authentically filming his day. Thanks for checking out my channel, in any case - I hope you find another channel that's more to your liking! Cheers.

    Dave do you use Aeroplan to get to these far out Canadian places?

    • @DrifterDave
      @DrifterDave  8 місяців тому +1

      Sometimes! For this trip, I took the ferry from Prince Edward Island (check out last week’s video for that journey) and flew Air Canada to Montreal using Aeroplan on the way out (next week’s video) 👍 It was 9000 Aeroplan miles plus $9 taxes from the Magdalen Islands to Montreal, so not bad!

      Yes! I have two other Magdalan Islands vlogs, plus a full-length version if you prefer to watch it all at once. Here's the link to the Grosse Ile / Ile de Grande Entree video: ua-cam.com/video/A4AzBxKZXmw/v-deo.htmlsi=_inc39VUh-jFeVqy

    Do Canadians not learn french in school? It hurts if you try to pronounce french words….

    • @DrifterDave
      @DrifterDave  7 місяців тому +6

      No, we don’t learn French. It’s technically mandatory until Grade 6, but I don’t remember a single class. And I don’t know a soul who speaks French where I live in Western Canada. Very few Western Canadians are bilingual as we are a half a continent away from any French influence. As for my pronunciation - be nice. At least I’m trying, rather than insisting on translating everything to English like many others would do 👍

      You’re confusing the Magdalen Islands with the archipelago of Saint Pierre & Miquelon, France. I’ll
      have a separate video about my visit to that French archipelago posting soon. St. Pierre & Miquelon is off the coast of eastern Newfoundland, while the Magdalen Islands are just 100 km north of Prince Edward Island, approximately 600-700 km west of the place you’re thinking.
