Tonnay-Charente est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France située dans le département de la Charente-Maritime en région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Ses habitants sont appelés les Tonnacquois et les Tonnacquoises.

Tonnay-Charente is a municipality in the south-west of France located in the department of Charente-Maritime in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Its inhabitants are called Tonnacquois and Tonnacquoises.
As a satellite city of Rochefort, part of its eastern suburbs, Tonnay-Charente has become a relatively attractive residential centre, both for its diverse living environment and for its geographical site dominated by a suspension bridge over the Charente.
Tonnay-Charente is a dynamic city, now ranked seventh among the cities of Charente-Maritime.
