If you see the handicapped tables, where statistical times are equated by age, these runners' times (between 1:17 to 1:20, etc.) are equivalent to around 43 to 46's for the 400 at the world-class level. This means that if there were around the ages of 22 or 25-year-old, they had the capacity to perform at this level. These "athletes" are most likely a long time (many years) trainers and performers of track events. Most likely they have been training (not exercising!) very hard for many, many years to reach this level of performance.

Very impressed ! Clearly these gents are careful with their eating habits & very active plus they train diligently. My dear Mother is 87 and can barely walk. I would by God's grace & hard work, rather be like these aged athletes.
I'm 55 and watch my eating & ride 60-90 miles a week on my road bike. Our group has a 72 year old who "rocks" and is hard to keep up with, I'm having a good day to 'hold his rear wheel' !
If you're watching this don't get discouraged just make daily improvements. Since 2011 I lost 60# and have kept it off. I'm thinking of running again for cross training, maybe even a Triathlon. So, take heart you can do it, too !

Running would actually help your bones to regenerate more bone cells and repair it faster, so therefore, claims that running ruins knees shows that those people never trained properly and it is definitely not detrimental to health because the many different systems like your cardiovascular system are greatly benefitted

@@galloditerachina2092 my dad is in his 80s, he is running all his life and he is still running up to these day. He is a high school track winner back in the 40s and represent his country in asean games in the 50s. IDK what you are saying about ppl who start running late but certainly you are just making a darn lame excuse!

    • @slothypunk

@. that is true, it is like saying human can run sub 2 hours for marathon, I disagree with that! As a matter of fact, most humans can't run marathon sub 4 hours let alone 2 hours! Same thing with the saying running is bad for health and knees... most people will believe that! Only a few, the best human, will rise to the occasion.
