Didnt expect him really. he can start day one at Auburn or come to ND and sit 1-2 yrs.
He ain’t starting day 1, he just wants to be close to home and in the SEC. It just means more 😊
Why would any QB want to come to ND? So they can come sit on the bench and watch some garbage transfer play that cannot throw.
I think there was several factors in this situation. A major factor that no one is talking about is the lack of talent at the receiver position. We were not able to land any top receivers in his class. A lot of this picked up steam right after ND lost out on all their top receiver prospects. Also, Auburn has flipped a few five stars within a short amount of time...NIL was absolutely a major reason why they were able to pull this off while they are playing really bad football.
It appears that these elite prospects are just using Notre Dame’s media coverage to get noticed by top SEC programs! I have issues with Freeman, but what is he to do? Freeman has worked as hard, or harder than anyone in the recruiting game!

It's hard to convince kids to go to ND who may rather go to an SEC program.

I think I do. The 4 and 5 stars have been trending up, slowly but they have and he's taking the time to travel unlike Kelly who didn't put in much effort which is why ND was always full of mostly 3 star prospects with a 4 star or two every now and then.

I’m an AU supporter and former student and just want to say to ND fans that ND is a great school with good people and history and Deuce really could not have made a bad decision between the two schools. It really comes down to what matters most to him and his family and we don’t know what those factors were but hope ND fans will not rip this kid for doing what was best for him and his career. How does Deuce Knight go to Auburn 5 weekends in a row when he supposed to be playing his senior year of football and developing his game
Deuce will not be what all the experts say he will be. I saw him in Nashville in high school and he was NOT good....tucked his tail and went home to very little competition in Miss. Auburn will continue to be losers under Freeze. He won't be missed

This might affect the overall class if anyone was committed due to DK. But, I’m not upset about it, he wasn’t the best QB in the class. CJ has more upside to me, and maybe that’s being overly optimistic. And yes, he can likely start day one, he will struggle in the SEC because Auburn will never compete day in and day out with the talent of UGA, Bama and LSU. I wish him the best and I truly believe we’re moving forward.

Notre Dame needs to start looking at high school QB’s who have the ability to be great students instead of just recruiting students who are already great students. Students on the outside looking in but right outside the door, they just need the right push by the right people. Maybe with this added approach Notre Dame can find some baller high school QB’s as well.
Most QBs pass ND admission, bc you need to be quasi intelligent to play the position.

Slow feet JC that played with NFL players. There is a reason why his offensive teammates had good NFL careers, and he didn't.
I will say JC threw a beautiful ball with great accuracy. However, JC was more hyped than wins. He was not a difference maker. Charlie Weis threw the damn ball 75% of the time. His slow feet would not work now with a rebuild OL. JC needs everything to go perfect so he can have time to pass.
The only stats I want to see are WINS!

The offense had took a significant dive when freeman took over. He cant land top WR targets and loses a highly touted QB that was supposedly "all in" on ND.
ND defense has taken a huge leap but our offense is really really struggling.
@lockedonirish Tyler, I disagree with the comment about Dante Moore being a probable transfer if he had signed with ND. I think the QB room would be very different right now.
Signing Dante Moore would have meant Kenny Minchey keeps his commitment to Pitt, and ND would not have brought in a transfer QB. In that scenario, the QB room could easily look just like this.
QB1 - Dante Moore
QB2 - Angeli/Carr
QB3 - Carr/Angeli

Yes you can hand out other QB offers while Deuce was in the class. As soon as he started taking visits and wearing Auburn gear,YES YOU GO AFTER SOMEONE ELSE. However, ND decides to ignore the writing on the wall and lets Deuce spit in their face for months on end.

Look, even if we managed to land him, you would need a Plan B-and maybe even a Plan C-because this kid screams "portal hopper." He’s the type to bounce around 2 or 3 times before it’s all said and done. They should've cut ties back in September the second he showed up at Auburn for a game.

If you're a QB, why would you come to Notre Dame? In fact, why would any skill player? Angeli and Carr should both transfer. I'd be out if I were Minchey, too. Willingham - I mean Freeman - will go out and get another mildly talented "leader" grad transfer. The sad thing is, you have an OC and DC that are both better coaches than the f'ing HC. And no one wants to recruit there. That's why HH left. It's impossible, especially now with the NIL crap.
HH is out of coaching. He left for family reasons, not for program drama. He'd have had another job before he could get out of the door at ND. He's not coaching anymore, period.

I think it’s a culture problem. ND is not as modern and South Bend is lacking. ND can sell its education but when it comes down to it, these top recruits are intrigued by the flash, facilities, uniforms, etc. it’s how modern college football is. This isn’t early 2000s anymore. Wake up

@@allensaunders449 Nah AU is in a rebuild, that’s the difference. In AU’s losses they still average nearly 500 yards a game. It’s poor QB play and any QB should look at the offense and see that just adequate play will make AU offense one of the best in the country
@@datdude_mp123 I do agree that better QB play is needed but loosing to teams that should be easily beaten is bad coaching too. He is not going to start next season as a freshman anyway. College football doesn't play January or Februar to begin with. going to class is a good thing there are universities, and right now Notre Dame has a better football program then Auburn just being honest. He does stay closer to home that's probably a factor it's a win for Auburn for sure

Guys stay the course. Freeman is our Guy, Deuce never felt genuine, so I'm not as sad...but it still sucks. The home sick issue is the main thing here, 10-1 odds he ends up at Ole Miss.
