i know it's beneficial for the galaxy 66v3 i seen your videos but is it safe for the long term but to the increased power output and generated heat?

Good to know you did a great job explaining it

The point of a max mod is not to run it at max output.
The point is to remove a part that was at 100%-110% output.
And replace it with a part that can do the same output and only work 75% as hard. So it in theory will be more reliable and last longer.
Some people are putting these parts in and still revving it to the moon..
How does that make sense? Reliably speaking.. 🤷‍♂️

    Not a coincidence
The base power supplies on most of these barley cover the stock amp watts
    Thanks Rooster

That’s good advice especially for base stations built in power supplies. Another good idea is to look at them on a scope to make at least once on a particular model of radio.

Is that a serious question? If so I'll give it a serious answer. Before you buy a $20 component for a $20 radio, I'd consider buying a better radio

Absolutely true. Change one thing, everything else is going to be effected one way or another.

I don't know. I have a max mod in my President Lincoln 2+, didn't notice any more power, it just seems to run cleaner, and maybe a little cooler. still does about 35 watt carrier and 50 watt PEP

Good info 👍,but surely if your a tech doing this you ensure carrier power & pep does not exceed original specifications on your testset.
    These are series modulated AM
So always x4 the power of carrier at around 90% mod on 1khz test tone.
If your a screwdriver tech let proffession fit them and set it up on proper test gear my advice.
I dont use these particular devices, but a very similar device can confirm they do increase voltage to rf pa stage so always set carrier power first to orignal specs ,dont over drive especially on AM mode as it will distort, increase stress loads on pcb and as the chap said higher pep.
Cleaner distortion &lower power Am than higher power distorted Am yucky no no
    4w carrier ✓
    16w pep 90% ✓
    Low distortion ✓
    25w carrier ✓
    100w pep 90%✓
    Low distortion ✓
    For examples,carrier +4 times
    Easy to remember 😊
We dont use Am so much now in UK FM mainly ,but ssb do but still align with these power regulator upgrades👍🇺🇲
