Thank you so much, Adam, and the Tested crew for this video. I am humbled and filled with joy to see Adam unboxing everything. I have a build video of how I made it on my channel and to affirm everyone in the comments, it is in fact, a bear. It references the teddy bear that Adam talks about in his book. The custom book says Savage in viking runes (if used as an alphabet). And the top has the title of his book written in runes as well as an image of Adam putting on the helmet of mine that he owns in his collection. Tested, keep doing what you do, inspiring creativity. 😁👊
Flash attachment. Also the chain is the exact focal length so you can use it to measure the distance to the secret Soviet plans you are photographing and they will not be out of focus.
I was guessing motorized winder. Most ‘70s cameras were manual film advance of one sort or another, but for many you could add on a motorized unit allowing faster sequences of shots without taking your hands off the controls.
it is an extension that snaps on the end with the PC connector- it takes a few batteries and one places a flashcube on the end. Yeah a flash. The camera strap is also used for measuring distances to the subject for close up photography- note the beads embedded in the cord.
Me, too! I took so many photos with my Minox in the 70s and 80s, and then lost the camera in a move to a new apartment. ☹️ I actually kept hoping Adam would see the part in the instructions about using the chain to get perfect focus when taking pictures of lots of documents in a short time. I guess that will be mentioned in a future video.
That camera or something similar has made an appearance in almost every 60's & 70's spy thriller where somebody needed pictures of top secret documents. Too cool.
I'm petty sure the extra doohickie is a flash cube adapter. Also, the larger balls on the chain are focusing aids for copying the documents in Klink's safe. ;)
A question about that Minox camera. I'm wondering if there was a situation where one wanted to take a picture with the camera, and so they pulled the camera out of their pocket and pulled open the camera, but then decided not to take a picture, would closing the camera still advance the film the next time it was opened?
I have a minox in my restoration queue... fascinating little device indeed. I'm also pondering a build for a proper film cutter to make it easier to cut up 35mm film stock to spool on to the tiny film cassettes... but that needs tiiiiime and I'm very short on that side of the equasion :D
Viking mythology, Clearly a bear, the rounded ears and facial features, particularly the shape of the muzzle and the nose. But if there is any doubt, the stylised runic text underneath looks like "BJORM" or "Björn" which literally means bear!
Adam, your handwriting is not bad, you just have enough stickers on your slate to use them as a stand, that might just make it a bit more difficult to write clearly 😂
Surely a bear? Especially given the Norse connection. Berserkir (thats the plural) would wear the skins to summon the spirit of the bear. Berserker translates to Bear-shirt.
A manual with the user in mind instead of just thrown together just so they can say they gave you a manual? Seems like a small change, but it's a world of difference.
FINLAND surprised how lovely tasty this chicken soup came out to be before going to SLEEP at 1 AM - neverunderestimate your possible secret grandmother formula \,,/
Thanks so much to Thomas for sending this amazing hammer! Watch his build of this prop here: ua-cam.com/video/KG4LOb4g7FY/v-deo.html
I think those pens are multi surface markers. Two different types;)

Super cool man
You are really very delicate.
Flash attachment. Also the chain is the exact focal length so you can use it to measure the distance to the secret Soviet plans you are photographing and they will not be out of focus.
The extra bit is a flash attachment. It uses Flash Cubes.
I was guessing motorized winder. Most ‘70s cameras were manual film advance of one sort or another, but for many you could add on a motorized unit allowing faster sequences of shots without taking your hands off the controls.
Isn’t that a bear?
It's a bear, to my eyes.
yeah, that was my reaction as well, that's a bear.
Yah. Bear 🐻
I thinking the same thing. It looks like a bear.
It's a bear
Adam Savage saying the word "fursona" was not on my bingo card
Very cool hammer. Are you sure that's a lion? Looks like a bear to me. Beautifully done either way. That spy camera was a nice gift.
100% a bear

I kept waiting for him to mention that about the camera strap! I was surprised he didn't.
Me, too! I took so many photos with my Minox in the 70s and 80s, and then lost the camera in a move to a new apartment. ☹️

A deep dive series into film looking at old cameras and tech would be so cool!
The extra accessory for the Minox is definitely a flash cube attachment.
Do we think there are enough comments identifing it as a bear or should we add a few more just to be safe?
😂 Pretty sure there's not enough yet.
I think we could bear a few more.
It’s a bear.
That camera or something similar has made an appearance in almost every 60's & 70's spy thriller where somebody needed pictures of top secret documents. Too cool.
Definitely wicked cool
That camera is retro-awesome!
That Minox is in amazing condition.
2:57 It's the only lion I have seen that looks like a bear.
Yer, that`s what i thought, has more of a bear nose than a lion.
Lion? Looks like a bear, to me.
I think the runes on the blank book are meant to say Savage. If the maker confirms that, the other runes may have a message...
Savage -yes. And on the hammer, the word Hammer, and some other text I didn't catch.
I was wondering if that's what it said.
2:29I see a bear rather than a lion.
Adam, I think that pod is an external flash bulb unit!
Another example of, It's nice to be Adam Savage!!
And he’s earned what he gets!
I love Much Props! He deserves way more subscribers!
You are too kind 😁👊
oooh! I know the feel of that chain! So satisfying...
Wow. Very nice hammer. You are very lucky Adam.
The attachment is as others mentioned, for flash. Some require batteries to trigger the flash.
Hammer of the Gods
ADAM CONFIRMS HIS FURSONA IS A LION.
Queue the avalanche of art.
SWEET, WHOLESOME, KID-FRIENDLY ART OF HIM ONLY FROM THE WAIST UP I'm sure.
An excellent piece of spycraft hardware.
SOOOO COOOOOL Great job man
100% a bear :) fantastic piece!
Your writing is terrific when you are labeling drawers.
I have big cameras that were in WWII, pinhole, Brownies and many more. THAT camera has been my Holy Grail‼️But only if I find it in a thrift store…
The chain also was used to measure a perfect focal point for shooting pictures of paper documents.
I'm petty sure the extra doohickie is a flash cube adapter. Also, the larger balls on the chain are focusing aids for copying the documents in Klink's safe. ;)
I might be late for this but I think that was a Bear….
Hey, Adam! When you next make a reproduction of some film prop (or that crown) you should include a Certificate of Inauthenticity.
When mixing your chemicals to develop negatives use distilled water. Makes a huge difference in grain size.
Yeah, that's a bear not a lion. Super cool piece no matter what the animal is. I love the entire thing. This would be a great gift for my son-in-law!
People who can afford anything, get gifted the most!
ALSO, people who have the least, donate the most.
That notebook spells SAVAGE in viking runes.

Beautiful. 💙🌻💙 Merry...🌲
and the Minox is amazing 💙💙🌻💙💙
As everyone else has said it’s definitely a bear 😂
Thats, thats a bear tho...
Hello, love your content and always will ! much love from ohio.
Oh Adam, to an old person like me it is absolutely obvious that it's a flash Cube device.
I have a minox in my restoration queue... fascinating little device indeed. I'm also pondering a build for a proper film cutter to make it easier to cut up 35mm film stock to spool on to the tiny film cassettes... but that needs tiiiiime and I'm very short on that side of the equasion :D
You can source 110 film....
Every tool is a hammer!
Ty for sharing 😂 Brother 👻 boo.
Camera accessory for attaching a cube flash bulb?
"Hammer, HAMMER"
"Yes he is pretty hammered."
That doesn't look like a cat of any kind. That's a bear.
Could it be a flash attacment?
That's a bear :)
Viking mythology, Clearly a bear, the rounded ears and facial features, particularly the shape of the muzzle and the nose. But if there is any doubt, the stylised runic text underneath looks like "BJORM" or "Björn" which literally means bear!
Lion? You're more like a treasure hording dragon.
It looks like a flash bulb socket add on, battery would be to power the flash. (just assumption)
thanks adam, i am a leo, lions are king. 😁🥳
I hate to burst Adam's Lion shaped bubble. But is the carved animal face on the epic Norse hammer actually a bear?
I was thinking the same. It is a bear. It is a beautiful bear.
10:31 Minox B4 Cube Flash.
I am Dave Howie the extra attachment is for cube flashes
The problem with Minox is that they attach to the hull of your starship and chew on the power cables.
The Runes on the book spell S A V A G E, in ElderFuthark
Adam, your handwriting is not bad, you just have enough stickers on your slate to use them as a stand, that might just make it a bit more difficult to write clearly 😂
If it makes our Adam happy it's a wet lion😂
If you ever peel the tape off that clap board, please film it
Surely a bear? Especially given the Norse connection. Berserkir (thats the plural) would wear the skins to summon the spirit of the bear. Berserker translates to Bear-shirt.
Dude ,you need to build a scale Stay Puff marshmallow man for your 1/6 Ecto 1
A manual with the user in mind instead of just thrown together just so they can say they gave you a manual? Seems like a small change, but it's a world of difference.
That's a Bear, Adam.
No cell phones in 1969? I had one, and Batman had one. How do you think we communicated? You guys weren't even born then.
But Adam... I am an alien! ;P
❤️❤️
Lion? looks like a Bear to me.
Adam, I'm pretty sure that's a bear
It looks like a penguin to me.
(I kid. It is freaking fantastic. )
Goldilocks and the Three Lions
