I love the sounds of the school kids out playing at recess. For me it’s always been such a joyful sound….and then you get the peace and quiet on weekends and holidays. Great progress !
Love the way you creatively use what you have on hand Grahame. I’m sure the end result will be beautiful and functional, because that’s the way you roll! Glad you got a mate to help you. It must be satisfying to see all the progress being made and we enjoy watching it happen.
Hi Grahame, Glad you like the dust mask, they work really well and are very comfortable to wear for a while. Thanks for the shout out mate. Your idea for the counter top is inspired. My brother has had a Pine work top in his house for years and has taken quite a bit of abuse over those years but it still looks great. Glad you have some help and company for a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing the final results. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
hi Huw, interesting toner that your brothers worktops are doing the job, I hope mine do too! how did the market go? yes its been great having Steve here we've managed to get so much done, and the company helps too. take care mate cheers
The lime render will look even better painted the same colour as the church with maybe the iron work on the little window in black like the shutters ironwork. Steve has done a good job on the bathroom. Looking forward to seeing the kitchen worktop finished it's been a cracking good build.
Good idea Grahame using the off cuts and cheaper than buying a work top of wood,. Will look good when done. Glad you got Steve to give you a hand a little help does just the job. 😘
Can't wait to see the finished result. Steve is a natural on camera. I wonder if it's possible for Steve to video document the scenery of his bus journey next time and show us the best bits, only because I'd never considered or heard of doing France by bus [it cost's a over £2.000 by coach].
Regarding the worktop, necessity is the mother of invention! I know pine is a very soft timber but why would it be a problem for a worktop if the surface was thoroughly coated with something to make it harder and impermeable?
I've seen people trash countertops no matter what the material and others keep theirs pristine by always using trivets, cutting boards, and being careful not dragging heavy countertop appliances around. Grahame will keep them lovely I'm sure. Right Grahame?
How much did it cost your friend to come from Derby to your place near La Rochelle, if he doesn't mind me asking? I have a place two hours east of La Rochelle :). Great work you are doing, me and my partner love watching your videos. Thank you.
It's not butcher block -- it's "Grahame-block"! I think it's a dandy idea and well-executed as ever. PS I wonder if those little imps playing in the schoolyard know their voices are being immortalized by your vids?
good point never thought about that, we had a visit from the children last week, as its poets month, they came with their teacher to read us poem... great experience . I like that Grahame Block lol many thanks Gina
