It's not weird that Germany try to drown out the defeated French from singing their anthem through radio. The only weird is why the hell they try to drown it out with *"US Artillery March"*
Fact check: The music heard at 0:20 is the US Artillery March, an, obviously, American military song. It could mean one of two things: 1. The song is heard because of radio waves overlapping with each other (which is the more likely case) 2. The Germans only had this song to use to try to disrupt the French broadcast of the anthem, so they decided to play it (which is the less likely case) Occasionally as well, especially towards the start of the anthem, voices can be heard in the background. This is most likely the Germans trying to interrupt the broadcast, not the US Artillery March playing in the background. Again, unlikely, but still could be a German attempt at interference. So while some German attempts to hijack the radio signal playing La Marseillaise are present, they're (most likely) not trying to play one of their own songs (HWL for example) over La Marseillaise.
