    7 has a better interface than 10 and 11. They should have just stuck with it and rolled out security updates, seriously what more do u need

    • @pavaomrazek
      @pavaomrazek 14 днів тому

      Definetely. They should have done something like Apple did with OS X. Instead of Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11, they should have just stuck with Windows 7 because it was already perfect and instead of making up new unnecessary features they should have just updated the visual style of the OS to match the new aesthetics, but without touching any of the functionality

    3:13 - I would to also add that Windows Server 2008 R2 still have a support until January 13, 2026, and with some tiny modification to remove artificial locks in the update packages, those updates can be installed in regular Windows 7 without any issue since all NT 6.1-based OS uses the same files.
    EDIT : It only applies to 64-bit Windows 7, as Server 2008 R2 doesn't exist in 32-bit, which means if you want to stay updated with Server 2008 R2 patches, you must have a 64-bit Windows 7. 32-bit will effectively be abandoned on October 8.
    --
    4:10 - That's because capacity isn't calculated the same by the manufacturer and the OS. In fact WIndows reports the size wrong because your disk is actually 500 GB, as there's a confusion between the unit used.
    The manufacturer counts in base 10, while a PC counts in base 2.
    That's why Linux reports GiB instead of GB for example.
    1 GB (Gigabyte) = 1000 MB (Megabyte)
    1 GiB (Gibibyte) = 1024 MiB (Mebibytes)
    Windows writes GB, but it's factually wrong. It should use GiB. 500 GB = 465.66 GiB.

      Ima let you into a secret seeming you are probably 5 years old. Windows 7 on release was full of insanely performance draining features for no reason to. Windows 7 aero on launch would literally make top tier cpus of that generation get single digit fps on desktop. Things get changed over updates and performance improve. Wild that aint it? • @Synergiance
    @Synergiance Місяць тому

    Regarding the hard drive size, hard drive manufacturers like to use actual Terrabytes (1000 Gigabytes), while Windows has been staunchly using Tibbibytes (1024 Gibbibytes) and labeling it TB rather than it's correct abbreviation, TiB. Doing the math on this, your 7.27 TiB drive is actually 7.99 TB, and may actually be precisely 8TB depending on how the rounding was done in Windows.

      When WIndows 7 was released internet were flooded with people, that claimed Windows 7 is totally bloated and they gonna migrate from XP to Linux, lol. After all this time, Linux gained no popularity, and there is no people left on "non-bloted XP side". Usually their PCs doesn't run so well in general and they can't call themself smartasses from how well they maintain their systems. So they prefer to think about themself as smartasses cause on they skip one marketing naming for their OS version (both WIndows 10 are 11 a series of sequential releases of multiple versions of OS). Lacking many essential features of an era, lacking an adoptations for new hardware doesn't mean an OS is "non-bloated". It means its just dated.
      Windows 7 today gonna be pain in the ass. It doesn't feature any control over notifications (which is essential in world where everything sends notifications). It can't download apps to control you devices like mouse, keyboard, web cam (web cam is tragedy for every PC of 2000 era, if your manufacturer didn't include any scpecific software, well good luck taking a pic with it, go buy software). And if you did installed this software well please update it manually checking and official site and download an exe/msi. That awfull era is gone. No native antivirus solution forcing you to search for alternatives (free ones are slighly worse than a native windows one and less integrated). You are a newcomer or simply doesn't remember a stone age and don't know where to search for specific setting? Cross your fingers and prey those pages google indexed in 2009 are still hosted. Do not tell me all settings were in some sort of magical "control panel". 1) It's a lie. 2) This control panel exists today totally unchanged.
      So how does Windows is really "bloated" today? By having all the setting acessible at any time? By syncing your setting across devices? By having a multiple virtual desktops? Maybe having a clipboard history or an interface control on auto starting apps is a "bloat"? Well, the answer is clearly no.

    4:06 Common misconception by the fact that hard drives are made in sizes of 500gb, 4tb, using the unit of measurement of megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes, so in each next step in 1000 more than the last (1tb = 1000gb) but windows shows the sizes in mebibytes, gibibytes, and tebibytes, etc. which count in orders of 1024 (2^10) as for example 1TiB = 1024GiB. So the hard drive is 500GB, and that just turns out to be 465 GiB. Why windows is so confusing? ask the big Microsoft

    Windows 7 is great..... except you can't get Security Updates anymore, and you're extremely vulnerable to Malware and other viruses, and you have to download an Anti-Virus software.
    Solution? Switch to Linux, either Linux Mint or Q4OS. Both can be changed in Theme to look and sound like Windows XP or Windows 7 even, and the best part? No Bloatware like Windows, no ads, tons of customization, and you don't need an Anti-Virus. You have complete control over your PC, and your privacy, as well as Security, as your less likely to get viruses on Linux than Windows. Linux is literally your best option right now, especially with all the crap that Microsoft is doing now.

      @notanetcher Linux Mint is extremely user-friendly, and it' easier to install. Try it. It works exactly like Windows.

    4:30 this is false information btw! :D
    when a hard drive says that its 4 TB (Terabyte) it is referring to the so called METRIC byte which nowadays is the international standard in the entire world. AKA 10^12 bytes (1,000,000,000,000)
    windows uses and older standard which is closer to the machine's binary hardware by working in powers of two. this is commonly referred to as a TiB (Tebibyte) in the modern it space but still calls it a terabyte due to its older nomenclature so 2^40 bytes (1099511627776.)
    so when windows says your hard disk is 7.27 TB it actually means that its 7.27 Tebibytes which converts to 7.99 Terabytes which is MUCH closer to the actual advertised size of your disk, just 1 gigabyte off

      @@steelsofliquidno worries!
      Another interesting fact most hard disks physically aren't just under the advertised size but a few gigs over it, with the built in controller programmed to show the advertised size and not write to the very end of the disk, this is because it improves performance and stability which is much cheaper for companies than refunding thousands of hard disks if the very last portion of the disk isn't made as well and it destroyes the whole risk for it when trying to write to it
