Definetely. They should have done something like Apple did with OS X. Instead of Windows 8, 8.1, 10, 11, they should have just stuck with Windows 7 because it was already perfect and instead of making up new unnecessary features they should have just updated the visual style of the OS to match the new aesthetics, but without touching any of the functionality

actually tried doing this exact thing last week and it went quite well. (pc w/ a c2q q9300, nvidia gt 610, 4gb ddr2 800, 1TB 2x500GB RAID0) almost all applications i use still work on windows 7 on their latest version (but with quite a few like obs and discord you need to use older versions or the online edition) and it also ran very smoothly for the most part

I had a Windows Vista computer, two of them in fact, and one of them barely ran it well at all. I would say that Windows Vista was the largest pre-release software testing campaign ever done, with Windows 7 literally working all the bugs out. 7 fixed what Vista broke.
Regarding the hard drive size, hard drive manufacturers like to use actual Terrabytes (1000 Gigabytes), while Windows has been staunchly using Tibbibytes (1024 Gibbibytes) and labeling it TB rather than it's correct abbreviation, TiB. Doing the math on this, your 7.27 TiB drive is actually 7.99 TB, and may actually be precisely 8TB depending on how the rounding was done in Windows.

I miss windows 7. When it died in 2020,I migrated to Linux Mint. It is Windows 7 like although not based on any MS kernel. Windows 10 is bloated and I refuse to even try Windows 11.

After all this time, Linux gained no popularity, and there is no people left on "non-bloted XP side". Usually their PCs doesn't run so well in general and they can't call themself smartasses from how well they maintain their systems. So they prefer to think about themself as smartasses cause on they skip one marketing naming for their OS version (both WIndows 10 are 11 a series of sequential releases of multiple versions of OS). Lacking many essential features of an era, lacking an adoptations for new hardware doesn't mean an OS is "non-bloated". It means its just dated. Windows 7 today gonna be pain in the ass. It doesn't feature any control over notifications (which is essential in world where everything sends notifications). It can't download apps to control you devices like mouse, keyboard, web cam (web cam is tragedy for every PC of 2000 era, if your manufacturer didn't include any scpecific software, well good luck taking a pic with it, go buy software). And if you did installed this software well please update it manually checking and official site and download an exe/msi. That awfull era is gone. No native antivirus solution forcing you to search for alternatives (free ones are slighly worse than a native windows one and less integrated). You are a newcomer or simply doesn't remember a stone age and don't know where to search for specific setting? Cross your fingers and prey those pages google indexed in 2009 are still hosted. The reason why it says 7.27TB on your computer is it says that it has that much in terabits but it accidently says it as terabytes, so you do have 8 tera bytes but the computer misreads it in terabits and tells you that is how much space it has in terabytes

my dedicated editing software PC still uses Windows 7 but it's a offline PC tho so eh not too much of an issue for me i can always transfer my rendered Vegas Pro vids to a Flashdrive to another PC
i have used every windows nt build as far back as 1993 using windows 7 is old but not a big deal. you should just install ubuntu or debian or slackware as a daily os its a better choice then windows now.

Windows 7 is great..... except you can't get Security Updates anymore, and you're extremely vulnerable to Malware and other viruses, and you have to download an Anti-Virus software. Solution? Switch to Linux, either Linux Mint or Q4OS. Both can be changed in Theme to look and sound like Windows XP or Windows 7 even, and the best part? No Bloatware like Windows, no ads, tons of customization, and you don't need an Anti-Virus. You have complete control over your PC, and your privacy, as well as Security, as your less likely to get viruses on Linux than Windows. Linux is literally your best option right now, especially with all the crap that Microsoft is doing now.
Don't installed unnecessary software that related to today software it will get heated it happened to me too so i have to boot it up again n start over that fix the problem.
4:30 this is false information btw! :D when a hard drive says that its 4 TB (Terabyte) it is referring to the so called METRIC byte which nowadays is the international standard in the entire world. AKA 10^12 bytes (1,000,000,000,000) windows uses and older standard which is closer to the machine's binary hardware by working in powers of two. this is commonly referred to as a TiB (Tebibyte) in the modern it space but still calls it a terabyte due to its older nomenclature so 2^40 bytes (1099511627776.) so when windows says your hard disk is 7.27 TB it actually means that its 7.27 Tebibytes which converts to 7.99 Terabytes which is MUCH closer to the actual advertised size of your disk, just 1 gigabyte off

Another interesting fact most hard disks physically aren't just under the advertised size but a few gigs over it, with the built in controller programmed to show the advertised size and not write to the very end of the disk, this is because it improves performance and stability which is much cheaper for companies than refunding thousands of hard disks if the very last portion of the disk isn't made as well and it destroyes the whole risk for it when trying to write to it

35gb of that HDD are used for writing sectors... (when you format and so on) so until you format it, it is 500gb

No Bloatware like Windows, no ads, tons of customization, and you don't need an Anti-Virus. You have complete control over your PC, and your privacy, as well as Security, as your less likely to get viruses on Linux than Windows. Linux is literally your best option right now, especially with all the crap that Microsoft is doing now.

when a hard drive says that its 4 TB (Terabyte) it is referring to the so called METRIC byte which nowadays is the international standard in the entire world. AKA 10^12 bytes (1,000,000,000,000)
windows uses and older standard which is closer to the machine's binary hardware by working in powers of two. this is commonly referred to as a TiB (Tebibyte) in the modern it space but still calls it a terabyte due to its older nomenclature so 2^40 bytes (1099511627776.)
so when windows says your hard disk is 7.27 TB it actually means that its 7.27 Tebibytes which converts to 7.99 Terabytes which is MUCH closer to the actual advertised size of your disk, just 1 gigabyte off

Another interesting fact most hard disks physically aren't just under the advertised size but a few gigs over it, with the built in controller programmed to show the advertised size and not write to the very end of the disk, this is because it improves performance and stability which is much cheaper for companies than refunding thousands of hard disks if the very last portion of the disk isn't made as well and it destroyes the whole risk for it when trying to write to it
