Yes, I always have something on the table! Usually, lighter fare. A crudite platter, cheese and fruit platter and my famous clam dip with a variety of dippers. I have to put out shrimp cocktail because that's my favorite! The appetizer table is plentiful, I put out too much, usually, but nobody complains! Just keep the wine flowing!!! 😁
Yes, my daddy never ate any but he would always put cucumbers in water with vinegar, cream cheese in celery stalks and a small selection of olives. He recently passed, he was just shy of being 80 and this will be very sad this year with him gone. My father was the cook in our family and loved, loved, loved cooking for others just like you beautiful lady !!!
I make these every year for holiday mornings, all the holidays!!! I brown my sausage first, I seemed to get too much grease when didn't, but I noticed your parchment was pretty clean with yours. Either way, delicious treat for snacking any time. A real family favorite! 💖
@@baconbap Yes you can, and then just use a small ice cream/cookie scoop to put them on the baking sheet! I do mine all with my hand mixer. (I'm lazy!) 😂
Ms.Paula try them with dried cranberries or cherries. I also use croissant dough by dusting each side with flour, take a pizza cutter to make 1/4 inch squares instead of biscuit mix. You're right people love them at parties.
My Aunt Velma used to make these every year for Christmas Eve. We always had appetizers galore and a main food for filling us all the more. She always used a jar of Cheese Whiz & Jimmy Dean sausage in her recipe for the Sausage Balls and boy were they delicious! I am going to have to make them this year myself. I haven't had any for 8 years this Christmas.😢
@@anderander5662 That is Awesome, Ander Ander. The lemon drizzle cake sounds great to me. My Aunt Velma was famous in our small community of Ruth, WV for her Pineapple Upside Down cake, which I never tried, because I could never stand the thought of pineapples and cherries together from the time I was a little girl. 🤮 Even once I became an adult and loved both, I still couldn't do it. That is why I say your Aunt Velma's lemon drizzle cake sounds yummy! I do like lemon desserts. My Aunt Velma was like my 2nd mom and best friend. She didn't marry until she was 41 years old. We were all thrilled for her. She still loved us all into adulthood and our own marriages and my own children. My oldest cousin & I are the only two who have children. He had 1. I have 4. 😂 So she had 5 nieces & nephews and 5 great nieces & nephews. Hope we can talk more Aunt Velma recipes on Paula's recipes. My aunt Velma loved Paula Deen!!
Hey Paula, love your channel and watching you make all theses wonderful recipes! Thanks for bringing this blast from the past recipe. I am going to make them for my Thanksgiving appetizer. Love and best dishes to you and your family for Thanksgiving.❤️
This is so good . They even are great made ahead , frozen (cooked first) and reheated . Have even made the day before and put them in a crock pot on low heat to keep warm .
Ha! Talk about a blast from the past! Miss paula, those were the days, eh? You look great. I loved watching you back then, too! 👍❤❤❤❤ Those sausage balls look good. I've never made them. Seems like a lot of biscuit mix. The sausage must need it to absorb all the grease!! There was no grease on your sheet pan of cooked meatballs. So, these are served cold? I guess I'll have to try'em...😉
Do y'all serve appetizers at Thanksgiving or do you just save up for the main event?

Ooh I’m going to try it your way next time!
Can you mix it with a spoon that way? I don't like digging my hands in meat for some reason.
