    How do American inmates even tolerate this? I'm fairly certain that the MAJORITY of American inmates do not support this type of behavior. Here in Canada, sexual assault in prison or jail is extremely rare. Anyone who does that type of stuff will be beaten senseless by everybody in the unit at best. Stabbed or killed at worst. The inmates of Canada have unanimously decided that we aren't going to tolerate that crap. If you are gay, you aren't even allowed in general population in the jails. You have to go PC, whether you like it or not. The gen pop guys don't want you around. Not necessarily because they are homophobic, but because it is the only way to ensure that sexual assault doesn't happen. In the prisons, everything is more integrated, but there are still separations in place, either institutionally, or by the inmates. We have 0 tolerance for sexual assault, and we prevent it. Not sure why Americans don't do the same. What is a booty bandit going to do when the entire unit confronts them at once?

      State and federal prison are COMPLETELY different. Some groups and gangs prevent it and don’t tolerate it. If you look up Turned Out in Prison way down in my videos with “Manhood Taken” that’s a case where they smashed the person. That was actually the most horrific beating I ever saw and they had to land a helicopter on the compound to get the guy out of there before he died. Basically if it’s not someone in their group, they don’t get involved. Just hearing that messed me up, and for real if the guard had been doing his job it could have been prevented or at least stopped earlier.

      That’s because In America ‘’booty is more important then water’’ when a man sees another man in prison they tell em like this ‘’ I likes you, and I wants you, now we can do this the easy way or the hard way , the choice is yours’’

      @@GoodVibesOnly317 🤦🏼😆it’s really not like that, but on bond I watched Fleece Johnson and it scared the hell out of me so I trained karate open to close 4 hours a day 6 days a week and lifted every day for those 2 years! It’s really more undercover dudes and A LOT of guys who are out and out giving it away. The predator thing is rare, but the stories do stick with you. I’d say statistically it’s probably about 1 in 500-1000 people who get GOT, and it’s usually people predators against guys who are out in the open with it.

      @@thedopesickshow see, that's the problem. there are institutions where it isn't tolerated, institutions where it is, and that can often change as people come and go. in Canada, it is ubiquitous. whether you're in jail or prison, whatever province you're in, whatever institution you're in, whatever race, or group you belong to, sexual assault is never accepted. you never get a pass for it. i suppose it is easier for Canadians to unanimously decide on this since our incarcerated population is much smaller, and much less diverse than in the American system, and we don't have anywhere close to the same gang problem. i wish there was a way for all these gangs and groups to find common ground on this one topic, but the hatred runs so deep, they probably laugh when a rival gang member gets raped. but what goes around comes around, and sooner or later someone they know will fall victim

    I'm 24 and have been able to dodge going to prison in Canada for quite some years now. Since I turned 18 I've racked up many charges, some quite a bit more severe than others. It's a miracle I've never been locked up for longer than a month. That being said I am on the path to recovery from severe alcohol addiction and I am doing very well. I really like to watch videos like this one to remind me that even though I see myself as a pretty tough dude, prison is not the fucking place I wanna end up in. Thanks for the upload big dog

    Did my time 40 years ago for AR. Didn’t have any beefs with anyone and I was well connected going in so I wasn’t really too worried about having any problems. Now, being in Canada, we didn’t get a lot of booty bandit crap. If someone raped a guy, he was treated like a rape hound, which isn’t tolerated, man or woman. You prey on someone weaker, you get done. And I went in because of my addiction…..to heroin. Got my life straightened out and became a substance abuse councillor. And I found out that most of us who went through the system and straightened out suffer from PTSD. You think seeing and hearing that stuff didn’t mess your mind up, you got it all wrong my man. It really plays with your head. And those emotional scars? You can’t see them, but they’re harder to heal because you can’t see them.

    Love your show, I did almost 6yrs in a few prisons. Started sweet in mid-state and then southern state and I'm between half way houses and programs ultimately ended my bid at Bayside, tragic wasn't the word! But at the end of the day ocean county jail for 11 months was worse then any prison I got sent to. It sucked I would get my status to minimum and full minimum and then boom out of no where I was in Max cause I was one of probably only 2 to 4 of the white boys everywhere I went in county and I fought so much just for the fact that I was big and could throw down so gangs were constantly getting a couple of their own chipped up and then boom 6 run in the cell and destroy me! But I gained my respect by never backing down, never tap the button, no one got me rolled out off any dorm. Then I just eventually watching and catching one jump off the poker table to get canteen for chips and I would wait until one hit a room by himself I would run up close the door behind me and it gave me like a minute before they could get the doors popped from the C.O. and if they hated who was in that room they knew 8 people wanting them to unlock the door. And I would get jumped for it and then I rocked the right one and then they were trying to recruit me.... The same ones who thought I would pay rent and that whole sex in jail didn't see it, but sex in craf, it was happening, sex in prisons it was happening just made me wanna vomit! These hard core gangsters fucking men! That in any set should have you violated! Homosexuality dog? I get the rights people have, but those standards don't apply when you banging

      Petersburg was a WEIRD place because as opposed to out west with protection prisons they mix and match locals with chomos that got sent there from as far as Texas, California, even Alaska. Me being local I started at the low, which was a normal low. Then I got in trouble and spent 3 months in solitary ultimately being sent to the medium (despite having camp points) because I wouldn’t tell on my good friend Pinto (who’s out and doing well now). The medium was/is NOT normal, 40% sex offenders are required there for funding for the program they have for them. An odd thing happened, “gangsters” sneaking in room with open out and about chomos. I heard of a leader of a major gang doing so that blew my mind. Being in a prison with literally 1,000 of the countries worst deviants has left me with some TWISTED stories, and also the unique distinction of being the only prison channel that talks about that place. Many think R Kelly will go there. Sorry you had to deal with the BS you did but it’s awesome hearing you didn’t put up with it. It’s tricky for me telling some of these because it now is such a sensitive issue and you’ve got to word it correctly, but I’m going to word it however I have to in order for people to know about the place. Glad you’re out now, and I appreciate you bud!!

      Training 5 years total judo and bjj. I moved and just trained judo for a couple of years, but prior to that had trained bjj twice daily 5 days a week for 9 months so I had a really good grasp of the basics. At our judo club we trained 2+ hours a night, 30 minutes of which was rolling. During that time I got pretty good at the basics, and started driving 5 hours round trip Tuesday’s and Friday’s to Paulo Santana who was my original coach. After a couple of months I did 3 competitions in 6 weeks, each 3 weeks apart. The judo helped tremendously, I took everyone down in the first two getting double gold in those and lost the 3rd which was a gi only. I’m a blue belt in bjj under Paulo, and have been a brown belt in judo for 2 years now under Olympian Tarek Moneir. It’s an INCREDIBLE mix training both! I also have done a good bit of boxing, was training 3X weekly for a couple years with Scott “Cujo” Sigmon (fought Roy Jones Jr and Kelly Pavlik), he actually was one who suggested I do these videos. I love it! It’s helped keep me right since I’ve been out.

    The closest thing I can compare it to is the sound this deer is making as their being eaten alive by a bear in someone's backyard. Look up, "Deer attacked by bear in backyard."

    13:22 couldn’t someone else have hit the panic button for him? Since every cell has a panic button, you could’ve pressed your cells panic button for that person. If you didn’t hit the panic button for him, that’s messed up

    • @thedopesickshow
      @thedopesickshow  2 роки тому +1

      First the panic button is a joke. It doesn’t send a compound wide alert, it’s just an alert within the unit you’re in and that guard presses a button at the desk in the center of the unit to turn it off. He was out smoking, as I assume the cop in the next unit was, so no one would have heard it until they came back in at which time everything had already happened. Even if the panic button would have helped you’d be putting yourself at risk because that’s considered being a snitch. As much as it sucks it’s only your job to get you through prison and get out without getting hurt or getting more time.

    Another thing I have noticed is how so many UA-cam prison genre channels come from Virginia (yourself/after prison show/banky pound/lockdown 23-1/jay williams/off the yard).
    Do you think that it's just a coincidence or maybe another reason why Virginia is so highly represented?

    • @thedopesickshow
      @thedopesickshow  2 роки тому +2

      I noticed that before I started this actually! I thought shoot, if so many of the bigger channels are all from Virginia I’ve got A LOT of stories too! Watching Jay Williams (and Splinter, but he’s in California) do videos in one take is what made me decide to give it a try. I knew I had stories but knew nothing about editing, and seeing them do it in one take gave me confidence to give it a shot. It is a wild so many are from Virginia though!

    • @thedopesickshow
      @thedopesickshow  2 роки тому +2

      @@simonyip5978 Virginia isn’t too big, about 6 or 7 million. Something interesting is my accent we believe came from a woman from Tennessee that watched me when I was little. It left me with a weird predicament because everyone in Roanoke assumed I grew up in the country, and as crazy as it may be when I moved to the country with my aunt they said I talked like a city boy! It left me feeling like an outsider regardless of where I was. A hilarious fact is if you ask people who’ve heard stories of me in Roanoke they’ll say “yeah, that crazy country mf,” but if you ask people from Grundy they’ll say “yeah, that crazy city boy.” 🤦🏼😆 Another interesting fact to wrap your head around in terms of travel is to and from jiu jitsu I drive roughly 250 miles round trip, 125 miles each way, and before my injury was doing that twice a week! Distance wise that probably sounds insane to you, haha. Paulo’s the best at jiu jitsu though, and we’ll worth the drive.

I figured I’d mention that because I played around with the settings and that’s where I landed at. I appreciate it man! My story’s actually 50 pages in the book Dopesick that’s now a HULU show with Michael Keaton. Guys I train judo, bjj, and boxing with kept pushing me to do a UA-cam channel and I finally gave in! Also the thumbnails I use Canva, which is free but I use the paid version which has all kinds of pictures of anything you can imagine and also a background remover. Like the picture I have on this thumbnail I used the background remover on 3 pictures to get just the 3 guys, and I put them on a 4th picture. The thumbnail’s a big part, getting peoples attention to click is half the battle! If I get 10% click through I’m pretty happy with it. It’s wild, I NEVER would have guessed I’d be doing a channel. Also, TikTok has been HUGE at getting new subscribers. You can link your UA-cam channel to it and all they have to do is press a play button link to come right here. In my bio (description) which is right under the play button link I wrote “I have a UA-cam ⬆️ channel!” With the up arrow lining directly underneath the play button link. In the few weeks since I started TikTok I’ve gone up over 1,500 in the past 28 days. The last 30 seconds of EVERY TikTok I say “I also have a UA-cam channel so look for the up arrow that points to a play button and check me out there!” Figured I’d pass on what’s worked for me, hopefully some of that was useful.
