So, Marco killed his wife and daughter, disposed of their bodies in such a manor that they were never able to be found, rode a bicycle to a bridge, dragged concrete blocks to a staging point, ratchet strapped himself to these concrete blocks and then somehow wiggled his way off the bridge in a half hour total?🧐A couple days later people see him FLOATING in the water and they determine he committed suicide? Then they only search for the Mom and Daughter for like a week? This stories got some holes in it...
I agree! Something definitely doesn't sit right with me about the whole case and how quickly and neatly they were ready to close the case. Suspish!
Yeah, majorly. How did the other bike get so far away, the green bike?
I feel the same way
I concur.
Strange ..
The German law not permitting investigations into crimes committed by deceased persons is ridiculous. That would mean terrorist attacks would cease to be investigated once the perpetrator is taken out of the equation.. or takes themselves out. I can see those planning such crimes planning to commit suicide SPECIFICALLY to avoid their actions and/or their families and friends subsequently being questioned. Short sighted law, indeed!
Wonder if it was around the time that guy with the toothbrush mustache was in power. The Law being created I mean.

Thank you for covering cases that are not that known. This was such a tragic case. The not knowing, is the worst part. The human mind is a complex thing. When somebody can go to these lengths to cover their crime. Thanks for a great channel with really good content. Greetings from Norway 🥰
Norge her og :)
I hate too say I'm so happy for the upload on these horrific stories but you never disappoint. I was just watching your older videos last night into the am. I also love how you tell us the cases that weren't talked about on other channels, (unknown ones) they're so sad.
Your channel is grest at telling these tragedies. RIP Angel's 🕊🌾💘
Great job telling these cases with pure perfection and respect. 👍🏻💪🏼💗
Thanks for another upload.
God bless 👑🙏🏻🕊❤❤
Absolutely horrific and heartbreaking. I truly hope the remaining family and friends eventually get answers. Alcoholism is such a horrible thing. The depths it can drag people to are incalculable. And that sweet little girl's smile... what a terrible loss.
You have the best true crime channel, I absolutely love your voice and storytelling. NEVER stop please.
Poor Sabine. What a loss this must have been for her.
I love the narration and the narrator's voice and delivery. Very professional. These videos seem well researched as well.
Why would Marco go to such lengths to cover his tracks if he knew he was gonna be dead anyway? Doesn't make sense, something ain't right here.
Thanks. I agree.
Happens more than you'd think... Sometimes murderers don't want people knowing what they did even if they plan on suicide.
Well he could have made decisions gradually maybe the wife threatened to leave because of his drinking and there was an argument and he killed her and the girl just in a momentary freak out or angry she wanted to leave and he went to effort to hide evidence was planning to claim they were missing like some husbands do in that situation then he either realized he wouldn't get away with it or he felt too depressed and guilty to lie anyway so just decided to kill himself too.
I agree. 1/2 hour as well. Something stinks.
How is alcohol still legal. It seems alot of these crimes involve alcohol.
I love your narrative, always easy to listen to and very informative. Thank you, keep up the good work.
This case likely points to a murder suicide the fact that Marco was found in the river with his feet tied down with blocks certainly bears that out because that's what those who intentionally drown themselves often do to prevent their natural urge to surface.
Haven’t watched yet , but yes I too have heard of drowning suicides tying their feet with weights , specifically two different cases I read of suicide in a swimming pool , both families refused to believe it was suicide and one coroner said it’s not as rare as it seems
I thought the murder suicide throughout. He's jobless, addicted and in the doghouse. Hmm. I didn't know that folks tied on concrete shoes though. Yikes.
yeah seen several murder suicides where the father / boyfriend was blamed with more evidence. Then it turns out the guy was innocent. I don't believe he did it until I see proof and this doesn't have it.
Killers weight bodies down too.
I say it all the time husband has issues NEVER tell him u want a divorce.
Tragic case, wich i havent heard of. Thank you for covering this case. Why someone would take other lives rather then their selves is just horrible and beyond my understanding.... May they rest in peace
Best coverage of this case I’ve ever heard- thank you!
Genuinely love your videos, your voice is just made for the macabre. Keep up the fantastic work 😁
Tragic to say the least... Great video as always friend.
I've been following this case. There's a podcast with the point of view of the eldest daughter (in German). I was in Germany at the time, it was in the media a lot, a big mystery. There is also another farm Mirco had access to, he might have buried them there. Also, the lake was apparently not searched well enough. The most puzzling thing is that he only had a few hours to get rid of the bodies so well that they haven't been found.
someone killed him and his daughter and wife were kidnapped. Happened here in the US several times that they blame the father then it turns out the poor guy was innocent.
Oh, wie heißt der Podcast denn? Davon hab ich gar nichts mitbekommen!
@@lyricberlin In the US,, it's always considered the man's fault. If he kills his wife, it's his fault. If she kills him, he should have "been a better husband"..... and it's his fault. If she kills herself, "he should have stopped her".... and it's his fault. It's always the man's fault.
@@broeheemed32 idk what redpill you've been smokin' but I can assure you it is not like that at all. Historically it's been the complete opposite.

I was struck by the fact that Marcos hesitated about going to the stables and then went in and mucked a horse stall and then put the garbage in bins and left while driving his wife's car. Could Meriums and Sylvies bodies have been placed in the bins covered with what he cleaned out of the stall. He abandoned his bike and took Sylvies bike threw it into the river so it looked like Sylvie and Merium drowned in the river. They probably died in the pond and then he put their bodies in the bins and left to kill himself. I wonder!
or the poor guy was murdered and his wife and daughter kidnapped. Happened here several times the father or boyfriend was blamed and the whole time they were innocent.
@@lyricberlin I think it's possible there was a third party. We will never know. Very sad.
Half an hour wouldn't be enough to complete all this right?
You all make good points. I find it all very, very sad.
The Dark Curiosities channel features lesser known crime cases that people need to be more aware of. The way the case is being presented in this is beyond impressive. The amount of research must’ve really pulled off this amazing video.
I completely agree with you and have left similar things on the comments section myself. They are brilliant
She presents the cases and the pertinent facts without sensationalizing it as well, or opining on the most gruesome facts, as many other channels do. It's very much appreciated by her audience, and I can imagine the families and friends of the victims appreciate it even more.
Agreed and that’s why I like this channel and others like it too. It gets tiresome listening to the same big cases over and over.
She just reads the Wikipedia articles out loud.
@Brett nope! 👎 there are 12 sources for this case-all listed in the description...she's one of a handful of channels who cites sources!!!
Ugh I wish they would just continue to investigate this. What if their theory of the crime is not what really happened? Are there many murder-suicides where the perp kills the victims, conceals them so well they can never be found, and then commits suicide.
This one is interesting - and I'm not completely convinced it was a murder/suicide. If it is though, I feel like they are looking in the wrong place for bodies. I just don't think this guy was able to kill and dispose of both bodies in such a short time when they were at the pond together. I think if he did anything with them, it was when he was taking out the trash and going driving in his wife's car.
It's also possible that Sylvia killed Marco, witness the ratchet straps on her bicycle. Then Sylvia and Miriam disappeared deliberately. A possibility that were the case investigated, should've been explored; rather than just assuming "Marco did it." I agree that is most likely, with Marco burying them in an obscure and disguised spot. Any history of special training experience on his part? Computer and phone search history?
There is no evidence they are dead. You may be right
What a BS. This story ticks all the boxes of a mental instable husband who fears losing his wife and kid.
how would she have transported the body and the weight on her bicycle? and why would she just leave her bicycle there when it obviously would point back to her? I think he did it himself.
I think it very likely the wife murdered Marco & then disappeared with the daughter.
@@Summer-tv7rzabsolutely nonsense, there's fuck all evidence of that assertion.

Why isn't it mentioned more that he put out garbage containers, the night before?
Did police search landfills? So many questions unanswered. I understand that wading and digging in a landfill is most peoples nightmares, but come on.
i also wondered about the garbage.
I also think this is the most plausible way he did it; I think the person who saw them at breakfast might be mistaken as eye witnesses often are
It makes no sense that the police haven’t investigated this much more thoroughly
Bloody creeps, cowards that take their family members with them/murder them just bc they can`t handle their miserable lives anymore. The lowest of the low. Hope that Sylvia+Miriam can be found soon so they can be laid to rest.
Are we sure Sylvia didn't pull off the perfect murder and is living happily with her daughter under a new identity?
People always seem to think starting all over with a new identity, no ID, no money, is easy, it isn’t. Especially with a child.
No sh*t. Why is it always assumed a woman isn't capable to kill as well?? So obviously sexist. She and daughter are off living the life right now. Good for them.
I like the frequent content that you have been pumping out recently.
Thank you for your amazing work once again. Great video and thanks for covering the Schulze - Drage case. Have you ever heard about the disappearance of Felix Heger? It absolutely needs more attention. I would love to help if you decide to cover it.

Am I the only one who pauses the picture the first time the family is shown and looks deep into the the eyes of the everyone in the picture and tries to assess whether one of them “did it”? Even before I know what was done?? 😂
That “private investigator” after 15 minutes in could use some privacy himself!
@@deankirby7237 😂
I can't tell which pics are real vs stock photos since the victims change race and hair colors in all shots.
@@joywebster2678 I feel like most YourTube creators follow the convention of showing a real photo of the actual family when they are breaking down the names and ages of the people involved. And on this channel, she usually adds a caption at the bottom too!
I’ve done this with some. You’d probably be interested in criminal psychology and behavioral analysis. You should look deeper into some of the rabbit holes, you might be interested in what you find that few of these channels go into. A picture is just a snap in a point of time, where the guilty might not even have been on that track or in psychosis at the time of the photo. It seems that this case was a result of alcohol psychosis.
So, what’s your verdict? Did you see anything in this one?
Dark Curiosities you always provide us with the most fascinating, intriguing and never before heard stories available on UA-cam!! You are in a class all by yourself!! You are consistently giving us a tremendous views into the lives of these mysteries as you tell us their story!!! Brava 👏👏👏👏👏
This entire scenario with the disappearance of the Schulze family is baffling. How was Marco able to pull this off? Both cars at home, no sign of a struggle, the bikes found hundreds of kilometers away?? Marco was a murdering Houdini! Poor Miriam her mother. Why do husbands/fathers brutally STRIP the lives of their entire family members when facing divorce??? Why can’t they just accept it and move on. To me, the men who do this are selfish, entitled and EVIL.
Love this channel!
What a sad case 😢...did the police look into all their digital history? Like previous phone records, text messages, computer history etc..u would think there would be something leading up to the days..hmmmm 🤔☹
Dang, mom doesn't look to happy in opening photo 😠
Love this Channel ❤
How heartbreaking :(
Miriam's eyes seem very sad.
Well, that's easy, neat, and tidy...for the police.
2:11 I love the stock footage of somebody pouring 8 oz of booze into a tumbler. I've seen this on your channel I think and on lots of others, and it always blows me away. So much booze! And why are they spilling? Lol
Garbage cans possibly held bodies, wonder if dump is their resting place.
Fantastic pronounciation "Aktenzeichen XY", well done 👍👍👍
A person cannot be investigated for crimes committed in life after their death?
This seems to be a wholly nonsensical law, of course they can’t be prosecuted.
But the need for closure by loved ones left behind & just to set the record straight, this shouldn’t be the case.
Thank you DC💔🦌
Is it just me, or is the body language in that snap of the Schulze family off-putting? Sylvia's posture [compressed & unsmiling lips, folded arms with elbow out, interlaced fingers, etc.] seems very closed off and almost hostile. Not a 'happy family' portrait at all & I have no doubt she had one foot on the doorway and one foot on the path.
Very observant-i see it now
When someone has a drinking problem they are living on the edge of disaster. Being charged with drunk driving can be the fatal last straw. Sometimes mandatory treatment could save lives
The description of the way Marco's body was weighted down doesn't scream suicide to me. I would think he was murdered.
I think that someone charged with drunk driving should be encouraged or required to go to treatment for the possible drinking problem
Damn, guys like this really piss me off. Get a job already and stop being a drain on your family, why any woman would put up with a useless man is beyond me.
Ooh, hark at you.

Excellent research! Just one point: Hamburg is a German state of its own, not in Lower Saxony.
Thats like saying New York lies in the state of New Jersey :-)
It sounds like she is saying Hamburg, but the caption says Harburg.
At first, this reminded me of other cases where families or couples have tried to "disappear" after a major disgrace. In some cases, that has meant suicide, but in other cases, it's simply meant running away. Whichever course of action Marcus wanted his family to take, somehow my impression is that they didn't want to do it, or they changed their minds. If he killed them, it was probably in response to this "backing out."
There is something more going on here. What was he feeling disgraced about. It feels like something more was gling on and, what was really wrong with his daughter? Her illness. ?
If someone says if they don’t get their own way I’d say that’s your choice, but unfortunately these people too often take innocent people with them.😢
What if Sylvia killed Marco and took off with her daughter?
I wish they would've done more work to make sure he wasn't framed. Seems off honestly.
You stated that unfortunately under German law a deceased person cannot be prosecuted. It's the same all over the world. A person is sent to trial and either found guilty or not guilty. You can't exactly prop up a corpse in court, even more complicated if the body isn't found. There's a presumption of innocent until found guilty
It’s the "can’t be investigated" part!
@@gorillaguerillaDK Oh, "Debbie" understands that just fine: this person is simply trolling you. Twisting the explanation this way is invariably deliberate (I've seen it before), and the only reason is because "Debbie" wants to flout people's visibly strong feelings on that point.
There's a story about a former pope who was put on trial despite the fact he had been dead from months, they even went as far as to dig up his corpse, dress him in pope's clothing, and PUT IN ON THE STAND IN FRONT OF 100S OF PEOPLE!! who were probably more concerned about the rotting corpse than the actually trial itself. If anyone is interested the pope's name is Pope Formosus
Your storytelling and thorough research is incredible ❤
Question for you and any German viewers who may know more: Was there no cctv at the train station? Near the last place where they were all seen alive? Or on the route to the bridge? Were there any appeals to the public to come forward with footage?
@Keighleiao Zamo, no, I don't think so, that there were cctv footage, this is a really small town, more, there are 8 or 9 villages, but they all belong to "Drage". Alltogether about 4.200 people are living there. (I don't live there, I read it in Wikipedia, it is a very short Wikipedia site. ) I think, cctv would be available in bigger towns.
@@jackychamber534 es gibt wohl seit 2014 Kameras am Bahnhof in Winsen. Aber wahrscheinlich hat die Polizei auf den Aufnahmen nichts gesehen 🤔

Hi 👋 how are you doing?
Thanks fr Panama
The thing that I find odd is that someone with the mentality of "if I can't have them then no one can" would've gone after his wife's ex husband and daughter before. Which makes me think that whatever happened was purely reactionary. There are other possible explanations such as the husband committing suicide and the mother & daughter fleeing because of the way the husband set up his suicide to look like they had killed him.
that cat looks rather suspicious to me. (15:08-15:26)
LOL 😻
Lol 😂 looking for chipmunks 😂
Just hear me out, what if the two women were planning on leaving without no one knowing and he of course knew but left the passports out for a hint and he tried one more time to save his family before committing suicide and this is what the woman heard the one day prior to him jumping out of depression. Now the two have lived under the radar witnessing or helping him since this is how he chose to go.
nice twist! ⭐️
Plot twist: how do they know the wife didn’t kill the husband and disappear with the daughter? Improbable, yes, but you never know. No bodies found to date 🤷♂️
She would have to be really cold hearted though, to disappear and abandon her eldest daughter.
@@coryharry7300 it happens very often. Mothers abandoning on or more children. Mother does not mean they are bonded with their kids. People need to stop trying to claim only mothers care for their kids. Females are not perfect human beings and should not be put on pedestals.
Possible, but the likelihood is very small in my opinion.
In most of such family cases, women kill abusive husbands after a very long time of torture, wanting to put an end to it, seeing no other chance to escape. Men instead ( and this happens much more often) killing their families in fear of losing them by different reasons as divorce, financial problems ect…From what is said in the video - it seems more likely that he could had murdered them, probably due to a panic reaction, but without solid evidence it is hard to say.
That's exactly what I thought. They jumped to conclusions and in most cases it would be what they thought but it's totally possible the wife got sick of his shit and killed him then disappeared to not be sentenced for murder. It's not like that never happens.
@@hazelhadley-britt6396 it happens VERY RARELY! Many times it is because the man they are with is abusive.

It’s fine geez
It simply could be, that he didn't want to divorce and the planned trip to Mexico could be because they tried to stay friends because of the kid/s. I have friends who separated/divorced and kept on going on vacations together for years with their kids.
This took place in my home town...
To me, I’d assume he dumped the bodies in the trash and it was taken away. Since it took a few days for their absence to be noted, the trash would likely have been collected and gone. I’m in the US and don’t know how German trash collecting works, but based on my knowledge, this is my assumption.
There is a possibility that he killed his wife by the pond and carried his distraught daughter away from the site. What he did with the child later is anyone´s guess, but it might well have been a crime of impulse to begin with. My heart goes out to their kin. What a horrible thing to have had happen.
Threats of suicide is a huge red flag when it comes to men who murder their partner/family!
The bike has been found in Winsen (Luhe) btw which is 10 km away from their hometown, not 200. There are many Winsens in Germany so it's probably another one :)
I have paused halfway through this video and am guessing the husband murdered his wife and daughter than killed himself.
Not a mystery, unfortunately in this day & age! 😢😢😢
This is bizarre and I am not sure he killed them and himself?!?
Seems to be a family tragedy, but not much of a mystery.
It's all speculation and it's still a mystery because two bodies have never been found?
@@lynn5050 We know _who_ killed them, when, and almost certainly "why". Where the bodies are is mere details.

if the 30 min timeline is correct from killing them to committing suicide it’s not just a case of getting from point a to b, he also had the bike with him, he was carrying straps to strap presumably the already known about bricks to him plus it does not explain the odd behaviour shown by all of them in the days leading up. There is a lot more to this story that is unknown and normally I would presume the wife and daughter murdered but in this case I hesitate to reach that conclusion.
I'm not convinced Marco killed his family.
I find it incomprehensible that the jerk that heard the ACTUAL MURDER occur did not opt to phone police!
This entire case reeks of a cover up and framing.
Marco attached bricks to his own body with ratchet straps and then got himself in the water some how? Doesn't exactly scream out suicide to me. It could happen, I guess, but it just doesn't sound right to me.

Familicide over that? It was just a part-time job &, though I've heard DUIs're more serious in Europe, it wasn't the end of the world. It'd just happened, tensions were high, & they might've even reconciled. It's easy to say from the outside looking in, but everything shall pass...
In Australia, if the victim commits suicide , the police drop the case .
I think they were abducted and he was murdered. Did you say two bikes were taken? How could he do that? And why hide the one bike if committing suicide?
IKR!? The whole "the dad's dead and he did it so we can't investigate" loophole seems incredibly lazy, especially because they can't find the other bodies AND they themselves admit it would've been near impossible to do.
