- Hive Fleet Baraxas is back to consume some T'au biomass. The fire warriors of Bork'an mean to eliminate the Tyranid threat before it gets out of control. This is a 1000 point battle report using the Leviathan Mission Pack. Enjoy!
My tenth ed army facing my 9th ed. Love to see it! The Tau are getting *no* exposure out there right now as most of the more aggressive players have given up on the faction entirely, so it's wonderful to see them not only on a battlereport, but to watch them do what they're supposed to do, drawing targets in, removing them, and moving round like mad.
Kudos to a properly-run Kayoun!
He played them perfectly! It is wonderful to see!
Great batrep as always! That Tau scheme is incredibly clean and striking. Your 10th ed battle reports have been great for giving me a feel of how the edition plays in comparison to the previous edition.
Thank you! The changes are subtle but impactful. I like it a lot!
Those Tau models really look stunning great job!
His models are great! They are even more impressive in person!
Fun battle report.
Nice friendly cheerful players is always a pleasure to watch. Good looking tables and armies.
It's clear your still learning, but it's alread going a lot smoother than the first battle report of 10th.
Really good uses of Rapid Ingress by both of you. Man I love that stratagem.
Thank you! Rapid Ingress is a literal game changing. It's great!
Excellent report from two great players! Would love to see more Tau and Tyrannid on the channel! Props for remembering more Tau rules than most channels haha
Thank you! There will definitely be more of both T'au and Tyranid battle reports coming!
Great game guys. I really appreciated the analysis at the end. Very insightful
Thank you! I am glad the post game reflections are appreciated. I think it is important to comment on the thoughts behind the decisions you see us make on the battle reports. Plus, that self-reflection is a great way to get better at the game
For flying movement over terrain, check the rules commentary p8 for a picture and the text: "This model can Fly. When moving it over terrain features that are
greater than 2" in height (all models can move freely over terrain
features that are 2" or less in height), you measure the shortest
path ‘through the air’ required to move over that terrain feature. In
this example, the model has moved a total of 16"."
Thanks! We ended up finding that after the game. I'm not sure it really altered the game mich for us in this one.
Love the battle reports fellas! I believe the ghostkeels overcharged gun is AP -2, not 3. Although it didn’t seem to matter much
Thank you!
Just getting started in the video, but I wanted to say that I love how you've used loose material to define the boundaries of your Ruins. It's super legible but very immersive.
Thanks! Loose gravel is my number one tip for people who want to take their terrain to the next level.
Nice paint job!
Thank you!
the paint job on those tau is CRISP
Yeah, his army is beautiful.
Love how the nids look never seen such a nice color scheme like that
Thank you! I wanted a more "natural" color scheme for them.
Yea! It's really nice looking i loved the yellow blades on the warriors. Hope to see them again, I binged watch all of the tenth edition videos, can't wait for more!
Another awesome video :)
Thank you!
My two favorit armies facing each other. Wohoo
They're my two favorite, as well!
You might have already found this out but the homing beacon doesn't allow the crisis to come in T1, it just makes rapid ingress cost 0 CP. they still have to wait till T2.
Good catch! We did figure that out after the game.
Sweet! Blood angels next? 🩸🩸🩸
I think you will like the next video...
@@SliderGames YES!
GW has a breakdown for fly. You dont have to end/begin on terrain to have to measure diagonal. Passing over terrain requires the measurement.
Its a terrible change to fly (especially for infantry that can normally just walk through the terrain...)
Yeah, they have definitely nerfed it with that change.
Damn love that tau scheme looks insane!
It is really well done.
Ohhhh we back!
Just in time for lunch hour at work. 🎉
Perfect!
Lesson learned.... Nids assault cant go the long way. Youhave to make sure you have enough wounds on the board and assault turn2. Understand that the best way to kill shooting armies is to be sure you are in combat Turn 2 at the latest(so they get to shoot you only 1-2 times depending on if you go first). The only way you can force that issue is to pressure objectives. ie VP....
Going the long way around terrain or to get to objectives is usually bad fro assault nids.
Yeah, he baited me pretty well in this one.
Tau get a lot of complaints online about their lack of strong shooting, but that wasn't apparent here! Are you looking forward to any of the new Tyranid units and what do you think of the Tau in 10th?
I have some new Tyranids on the way, but I think barbgaunts are the most interesting. Lowering a unit's movement, advance, and charge by just hitting them could be a game changer. Movement is super important, so a way to disrupt that is exciting. As for T'au, I think they are definitely limited with access to only Kauyon. It really defines how you have to play them. You basically have to play very defensively until the sustained hits kick in. I am excited to give them a try in a couple weeks, though!
Great video! Though I would recommend trying to swap pathfinders out for some Tetras. overall though, good to see the Tau in a battlereport played well!
Thank you!
Man, those Tau look sweet.
They are great!
Guys I love your videos, I love the friendly and informed battles.... When is the next one? I'm a hungry Guard army and I need my fix from you guys 🤗
Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying the content! Our next video will be out next Wednesday (so just a few days away). Videos come out every other Wednesday.
Woot Woot! I loved it!
Thank you!
Stunning Tau army !
I agree!
Nice video, is there anywhere we can read a breakdown of the army lists used?
Unfortunately, I do not have the lists for this one currently.
Loved the video as always! Any chance we would ever see your firstborn again? I loved them in the one game where you played against yourself.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed that solo game. They have been on the sideline for a while, but they will see some action this edition.
Any suggested updates for the Tau list with the point changes? This list put together now leaves me with about 100 more points the second unit of breachers maybe? A second piranha and some kroot?
another Tau gameplay!!
For the Greater Good!

@@SliderGames Thank you soo much! I will do some test models but plan to have a very similar scheme. This helps me so much!!
You're welcome!
Oh how cool!!!!
Thanks!
What blue paint did you use for the sept colour?
Kantor Blue
40k Beginner here. the Map looks so0 big, what are the dimensions? is it 30 by 44?
This 6' x 4' which was the old standard size before 9th Edition.
Can someone Tell me the Name of the Commander? I cant find this model online 😅
It is the regular Commander kit. It is just built as the Coldstar option rather than the Enforcer option.
nice video, but turn two the broadlord fnp would have been 6's since hes not counted as a synapse model unless he has the enhancement
Good catch!
@@SliderGames Tyranids are my main army and that did catch me out in my first two games so the synapse enhancement is so good on him since it gives him the keyword and also a 9 inch aura around him off it to protect deepstrike units against battleshock or making are strategems alot stronger :D keep up the good work 👍
It sounds like I need to try that one out.
Close combat armies are utterly useless and just get shot off the board before they can even reach the enemy, and if they don't their numbers are whittled down so much that they don't do the damage you need them to.
It can definitely be difficult to get a close combat army to do what it wants to consistently. There is always a chance you fail the charge.
@@SliderGames Tyranids desperately need the reinstatement of the Zoanthropes' warp shielding ability to weather this storm and have a chance at hitting enemy lines, otherwise you may as well just bring nothing but Exocrines (debatable) and Tyrannofexes with rupture cannons.
This might be the most disappointing battle report I've seen all month. Another casual list of tyranids, being run less than optimal by their pilot. Let's run everyone right into your guns squad by squad! This was like watching a race between a scooter and a motorcycle.
