    Excellent tutorial. However, I ended up using a sales target tracker template that I bought from Someka. It helped me save tens of hours of effort. Thank you for posting the video.

    Hi, great video. I have a question, what about if I add a discount? will that be deducted from the revenue column?

    • @TheFinanceStoryteller
      @TheFinanceStoryteller  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi! Thought I answered this earlier, but let me make sure. Yes, you can split revenue into three columns: gross revenue, discounts, net revenue. Where net revenue equals gross revenue minus discounts.

    I became a channel member. I like your spreadsheet and wanted the template. How can I get it?

      Hello Tima! I don't see you in the list of members (yet). Did you press the red "Subscribe" button (which makes you a subscriber) or the blue "Member" button (which makes you a (paid) channel member)? I posted the link to the templates in a members-only message on the Community tab of the channel. Let me know if you can find it!

    hello, this was very usefull, however my vlookup formulas only work up to 6 cells, if tried several times by dragging the formula down the rest of the columns but even thought the formulas appear fine, it wont auto detect the product name or cost per unit after the 6 row. any advise? Thank you

      Hello Miluska! The VLOOKUP formulas that I am showing have the following structure (or a variation of this):
      =VLOOKUP(A4;'Product list'!A$2:F$21;2)
      So there has to be a correct item code in field A4 that has exactly the same structure in all of the tabs in the file. In my example it is A003. If you would type A3 or A03, it wouldn't match to A003.
      Also, the range A$2:F$21 is fixed, you might need to expand it to for example A$2:F$60 if you have more rows.
      Lastly, I am asking the VLOOKUP formula to retrieve the 2nd column from the left in the "Product list" tab, this only works if there is a value there.
      Did any of the above help?

    How would you format this if each order had more than one type of item in it? Ex: if the first order on 8/6/2021 sold 2 of items A003 and 1 item A008.

    • @TheFinanceStoryteller
      @TheFinanceStoryteller  Рік тому +1

      Hello Anna! Currently column B is Sales order and column C Item code. You could insert a column between B and C and name it Order line. Default value is 1 (in case of only one item in the order, or in case of the 1st item on the order), but you can have line 2, 3, 4, etc.

      @@TheFinanceStoryteller Thanks for the video, it was incredibly helpful, I just subscribed. I had the same question as Anna, but you answered it with the comment, but I have a follow up question, regarding the Shipping input.
      Following the same example Anna brought, if I have 1 order with 2 items sold for A003 and 1 item sold from A008, how can I divided the shipping cost per item code using a formula.
      Since the shipping column needs to be input manually, let's say I know the order shipment is going to cost $60, how can I divided the shipment cost of those 2 item codes?
      I hope I didn't overcomplicate my question. Thanks again!

      Hello Andrew! Thank you very much for the kind words.
      I think I would add a column on the "Cost per unit" tab of the file: column D can contain the shipment cost per item. Then in column L of the "Sales and margin" tab, you can IFERROR/VLOOKUP it with a formula (in the same way I pulled in the cost per unit into column H). This does assume that shipping two individual items has the same shipping cost as combining two items in one shipment.
