It's about suppressing China tech. Very little of these things makes it easier for American industries. Just look at Huawei. The US have no competing companies. Sweden and Finland has.
You MIGHT have a point IF it protected local industry, but it doesn't. i suspect that expense isn't the reason the Pentagon refuse to rip out their Huawei gear. Isn't "Damn The Expense" the Motto of the Pentagon? Maybe the reason is technical qualities such as reliability, sophistication, etc.
I suspect they also know that the accusations that Huawei is a "national security" threat is nonsense. It was just an excuse to target the company. Therefore they are no rush to make all those repairs and substitutions, which requires effort.
Huawei is the most advanced and reliable in 5G technology, the cheapest too, there goes your theory
DJI is battle tested by Ukrainians and Russians, Ukrainians prefer DJI over US manufactured drones because it is more reliable. the Brits sold DJI drones to Ukraine, they didn't even bother to cover up the label.
If US doesn't want to buy Chinese drones, then they should consider buying Iranian drones.
Hahaha...
Ooooo The irony!
What happened to free market capitalism?
It looks like we have abandoned the idea completely ☹️
It all goes out window when China supports wars against US Allied countries and starts threatening the west. Wow! Some Chinese Wumoas are clueless. Capitalism is for free western allied countries not militarized communist states. China learning hard way if you threaten USA it usually doesn’t end well for you economically .

Western drone technology can't match DJI.
Same with weapons total ripoff

Just madness. When will it stop?
It will end when we can get really sane, level headed and intelligent political leaders who will truly work FOR THE PEOPLE and FOR THE NATION for us to elect.
Great question - who knows
Put our hikers, fire victims, missing person, and flood victims at risk. And our thief and criminals will be got away without problems.
While selected agencies of the US regime may be exempted from the ban on DJI, the american general public will not be able to enjoy the benefits of a better and cheaper DJI drone. China should, actually ban the sales of DJI drones in the US market to stop the US regime from stealing Chinese tech.
It takes brains to reverse engineer a product something in very short supply in the western warmongering countries
They did just ban some type of drones for export with permits
Well let the rest of the world be able to buy the best quality drones. Protectionism can protect markets that need protecting from that.
Love DJI
America is going to keep kicking own goals until it runs out of balls.
DJI user here and I would say, as Michael Corleone said to a blackmailing senator, why would I agree to to pay more (for less)?
thanks for your information 👍

Fuera de líneas partidista.EEUU se está disparando en el pie. No creo que con esas políticas llegue muy lejos 👍🇵🇷
America really helps itself by cutting everything from China. Only by doing so that USA could stand up and be strong again !
I think DJI is not banned anymore by the US, but China immediately added DJI export control.
That eliminates the waivers. If DJI cannot export to the USA then even a waiver will not save them.
Great story
Here is an example of the power of the modern Chinese consumer. "Black Myth: Wukong [a video game made in China] is already one of the fastest-selling games of all time, moving almost as many units in one week as Elden Ring and Cyberpunk did in their first months"
The problem is whoever sets these restrictions in Congress or the Senate should be investigated because he surely has some profit from this step,
There must be someone who receives bribes from the companies that manufacture these drones in the USA,
Besides, everyone knows this whole thing that they say is dangerous for National Security, surely even a 10-year-old child can understand that it's stupid 😂😂😂😂😂
In other words corruption is their idea of so called democracy
Because insider trading is still legal in Congress, many US Reps. and Senators own Facebook/Meta stock and were happy to vote for the TikTok ban especially after their AIPAC masters demanded it. Mark Zuckerberg knows Meta is having a lot of trouble competing with Tik Tok so he strongly pushed for a ban on the national security BS claim. I hope Priscilla Chan divorces Mark Zuckerberg and gets full custody of their children. Hopefully one day, the corruption and legalized briberty (AIPAC) in Congress and with US politicians in general will end. Let's overturn Citizens United first.
You said it! Just follow the smell of money and you will always find a U.S. politician at the end.

But in America of course there are always the select few.
It reminds me of the quote from the book animal farm,

Getting rid of Chinese drones is such a joke! Oh, well. That is just the way the US is going downhill.
China should shut out iPhones and Boeing planes on the grounds of national security. But China wouldn’t be that stupid (yet, anyways).
@@trekpac2 lol! And if China did that air travel and aircraft manufacturing in China would cease to exist. Chinese companies still very dependent on USA . I love it when Wumoas make comments like this because it’s China that suffers more when relationship with the west degrades. China still has 50% of its population living in poverty. China depends on imports far more than USA . USA population is so much wealthier than China it’s crazy. So when you have 700 million poor people you can’t afford a trade war . Believe me China hasn’t experienced a true trade war with USA yet. USA in most cases waives many of tarrifs for western firms who make goods in China. Only a few technologies restricted. If China were to escalate USA would stomp Chinas economy like a bug and China would be in dire straight s as half its population would become dependent on the other half to provide more welfare or they would rebel and start civil war. All Chinese know this but don’t say it out loud for they fear this more than the big bad West.

I mean, the US is supposed to be the most technologically advanced country on earth. Am I wrong?
The US was the one of the most technologically advanced country on earth. However, it re-focused its efforts into film & movie technology, marketing & propaganda technologies, biological weaponry, banking & financial technology. Consumer electronics are just not profitable enough to warrant US investments
and the last scenic shot was made by ---- (guess what)
VERY good point!! 😂
Because a drone is build in China, every DJI drone flying in the US or Europe is sending Hi-res video's to China???? Yes and nobody would notice all those terabytes of data flying over the net. In the Netherlands we call this Roeptoeteren, in english something like talking bull-shit.
@@DickvanderVaart you don’t know much about how DJI works. DJI encrypts flight log data which forces users to go to API to get info and puts all their information on servers in Communist China where government then can see photos (not videos) with exact coordinates …not terebytes of data not even close. And yes US security organizations have seen these data transfers. Beyond that there is classified data indicating even more concerning data being transmitted. It’s the perfect spy tool! This is why national security people have issued warnings .

Problem now is even if America wants to buy Chinese don't want to sell. A 300 million and shrinking market trying to dictate to a 600 million and growing market is not going to work man. This ain't no India fool. 😂😂😂

This is just like EVs, solar panels, wind turbines. America will simply descend further in to a lack of capability and competence as it fails to compete against the world's best. Expect to see whatever lead America might have in AI and other tech evaporate in the face of Chinese ascendance.
ITIS ABOUT PROTECTING AMERICAN LOCAL INDUSTRIES. NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERN IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE
It's about suppressing China tech. Very little of these things makes it easier for American industries.
Just look at Huawei. The US have no competing companies. Sweden and Finland has.
You MIGHT have a point IF it protected local industry, but it doesn't.
Apart from anything else, using local products which are more expensive to produce AND purchase is only going to increase price inflation.
Then there's the supply chain issue.

I have a hypothesis (At least an "opinion") that this is *ALL* about BRICS.
BRICS is going Global generally around or near the Equator.
The resulting Trade Bloc will decimate both the trade and influence of USA in everything from Energy supply to raw materials, to the trade routes (Consider the Suez Canal, Red Sea, Countries either side of which are all considering membership)
I think that's why "Tensions" around Iran/ Lebanon, etc are rising. They would be part of the Trade route from Turkey down towards UAE, across Saudi Arabia and back up through Egypt, also linking the highway across North Africa from Egypt to Gibraltar.
Imagine if that whole area was trading peacefully among themselves Orchestrated by China?
That would be a large portion of the US "Defense" force with nothing to "police"?
