Looks cool, I wish they would fix that avoidance issue so it works as advertised on their video. Don’t listen to the haters I can see something like this taking off in the future when it becomes more affordable.
This would be dangerous. The dog bumps into all sorts of things and wouldn't hesitate to walk in front of a moving bus. It can barely follow a person, it certainly shouldn't lead one.
Not with what we have now. What it is sort of capable of is moving about your house without bumping into anything and without using a 3D model, but with you controlling it. It's Lidar system creates a 3D model of its environment as it moves about. The app shows a visual representation of the environment and model and it is pretty impressive.
Watch some of my other videos, I think it works quite well. It takes some getting used to. You have to move very specifically to get it behave perfectly.
I have been pressing L2 on the companion controller to try to activate the obstacle avoidance mode. Unfortunately you don't get any feedback to tell you the mode has been engaged. The dog doesn't move in any noticeable way when you engage or disengage that mode and the app doesn't have a visual indicator to tell you if the mode is engaged. The app actually is a horrible indicator of whether the mode is selected (the selector in the ap can be on while the mode on the dog is off). It seems simple to fix. I wish the dog would "bow" or wiggle when the mode was engaged. That would be better. I've already put a couple of dents in the walls of my office because I thought the mode was engaged and it wasn't.
If you have the Pro model it came with a little beacon/controller that you wear on your belt. That is how you do it. It isn't available on the Air model.
@@vmobile890I’m waiting for it to drop the price down less than 1k after overseas shipping. Seems like based on the videos I’ve watched it has its imperfections which for the cost doesn’t counter balance the time into purchasing it. Hopefully Unitree gets back to the feedbacks of the all the customers on improving and providing sooner updates to the software
Thank you for these videos. You’re doing a great job. I’m looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks. I know my production values aren't very good, but I'm trying to make them in a timely manner so that people aren't left in the dark.

They have some firmware updates that addresses this. These are the first gen. So they have the quirks
Thanks. Today they did a software update and the avoidance is working better. I have a feeling we will continue to get improvements! Fun stuff.
The updates are nice. I'm impressed with how this is going.
"I have him set to avoid"
Robot: slams face in a 1' rock wall
You are making it very hard for me to resist buying one😊
It's pretty amazing tech. for the price.
Great video! Do you know if the Go2 Air has this follow mode as well? Thanks.
This creature is insane. I mean this robot dog. It's walking and moving exactly like a real animal 1:14" 😮 i thought it was a CGI video
Do you need to heft that controller around to be able to use the follow mode? Or is that controller on your belt enough for it to track with?
Loving this ! ❤
Why does the recording date show 2015?
Because I am using a GoPro that I bought in 2015 and never learned to set the date.
I want one! the battery only lasts for about 1-2 hours right?
Thanks for the video! Is it possible to configure a mode for blind people? Could you attach a stick to the top and follow it to a shop or to your car?

What’s the carry capacity? And battery life?
if you had a 3d- model of your house. Would it be possbile to let the robot dog navigate throught it without controlling it manually?
Not with what we have now.

How well does the Intelligent Side Follow system work? And does it work well with the obstical avoidance?

L2 on companion controller not joystick that is

how much is the price vs edu version / this one?
Mine was 3 grand. I do not know the EDU price.
Now reduced to $1,600 I might buy one but technology improves and prices drop on basic models also future models could have improved features .

Sick puppy
Check out the dog after it got a software update. I made a follow-up video that shows the improvement.
Stand still laddy.
Thanks.
You should have told her you are beta testing and weaponization is next
Ha! She definitely would have called the police. She had that look.
