@diverseopalproducts gotcha. I have the diamond pacific nova burrs, the wear pretty slowly if I use water and don't get too aggressive. Their sintered diamond burrs are great. I don't do any Boulder opal, all I have done is the other Australian types.

bet you go through a lot of the rubberized burrs
If I have used the finer diamond bur correctly, I don't use many. Generally its the coarse and medium rubberized burs I use.

@@ThatOpalGuy Ok, boulder opal can be a bit of a challenge, especially when it is in hard ironstone.
