Yeah, altough... I gotta say, I miss Laura DJing and choosing the music. She was f-in good at that, now she does that when she´s in LA and it´s awesome. She has a better music taste.. for my ears at least.
I can only speak for myself. I didn't start watching this channel because your esthetic was always my esthetic. Your creativity has inspired me to try something new in my own creations.
My husband used to do this kind of work for people who didn't know how to do it themselves but knew what they wanted. If he had a different idea or opinion, he would say to me & his helpers "Can't see it from my house" 😂!!! He made sure it worked & that they got it the way they wanted it❤!!! Sometimes, if the customer had a sense of humor & a good rapport with him, he would tell them too😊.
Maybe it's the silver, that's making it look out of place, perhaps a bronze or brushed nickel? Or even copper, just a thought, it might not be the box but just the trim?
i missed Felix so much! love his little side commentary, gives Laura someone to think out loud with. Ich habe Felix so sehr vermisst! Ich liebe seinen kleinen Nebenkommentar, der Laura jemanden gibt, mit dem sie laut nachdenken kann.
I love when Felix films!!! Honestly I'm not enough of a connaisseur to tell the difference on a technical stand point, but having someone behind the camera for you to interact with, especially someone you feel so confortable around, really brings out your bright personality ❤❤
Especially if you do rent the house out, people will shriek with delight seeing the flight case bathroom cabinet - everyone will know it’s a genuine Laura Kampf creation ❤
I love the idea of using that case to hold the plumbing. My first reaction when seeing it in place was that, to me, it looked too tall for the space and function, but I'm not in the room with you, so what do I know? Also, you've clearly got an image in your mind of how it will look when it's finished. It IS your house, and you have the Laura Kampf esthetic. Black isn't my color, either, but you always make it look, not just lovely, but RIGHT. When following your projects, I often go through a thought process of, 'Wow; really, that's what you're going with?' to 'Well, she was brilliant, as usual.' My biggest problem is having to wait to see the final result. But anticipation is a good thing.
@@sharontrujillosays you… I think that’s a really unique thing and very Laura kind of idea. I have both my road cases from tours I did when working professionally in music as end tables and they hold a lot of great memories and are great conversation pieces

I like that the box gives you privacy when using the tub. If you wanted it to blend in more or still felt it‘s too big, you could match it’s colour to the wall.
Laura, you have the best taste ever. You don’t run with the pack - your designs always look awesome and unique. I love your furniture, and your sculptures, and your dress sense and everything. You make things look sleek, practical, classic and balanced at the same time as unexpected and new. You're an artist, not a contractor working on someone else's property. Do not fret about the comments. They don't have to live in this house, you do. Make it what you want so you don't regret not doing something due to peer pressure. I personally think it looks amazing so far!
I love what you’re doing. The entire point is do something around your personality and completely custom. The hand made components are much more interesting.
Laura, I'm glad you figured a kind way of dealing with all the opinions and objections in the comments. Self awareness is underated sometimes. Your kindness with yourself is so inspiring. So, thank you for that!
I like the design, because it's very YOU. Your house can be a collection of things you've worked on over the years, to make the Air bnb aspect of it, a walk through memory lane. Fans would appreciate this a LOT, I think! 😊

I started watching your kind, creative spirit before you bought this house. You, Laura Kampf, are a bright light!!! TY for all you do - it makes a difference.
Laura's videos are one of those that you already give a like before watching them because you know they don't disappoint. I love their work environment and creativity. And yes, the box for the tub is super unusual, but that's exactly what makes it great. I loved it! I hope the idea stays 🤌✨greetings from Mexico👋
You have such a great attitude about the comments. I admire that! Frankly, if there weren't some funky quirks in your house, I'd be disappointed. A house should always reflect the unique personalities of the people who love it! I hope your travels all went smoothly!
The house is yours, you are making it your own and following your vision and that's what's important! Especially as a creative person and repurposing things, it makes it special and unique and yours.
I love how you repurpose your inventory and how it has history. Keep on being you, it's why I watch. Makes me consider reusing things I've gathered over the years for my little home.
0:19 I love watching you create again! Hear me out. How about opening the case up and putting in a false back that the plumbing can run up to the faucet. Then put some shallow shelves in to put towels or plants etc. ??? AND I think it will blend better with the rest of the bathroom if you use the other case as a mirror above the sink by putting mirrors in, like a triple mirror when its open? Or just a medicine cabinet! KEEP CREATING! I'LL KEEP WATCHING! Have fun! Love you! 👍❤❤❤
I think the case is a neat homage to your past work. This is your home to add your touches to. I like the idea of being able to get to the plumbing works. And extra storage is a bonus!
It’s a brilliant solution and it will look marvelous. Love how your brain works, and your vision. Not sure why everyone thinks their way is the right way and everyone else is wrong. Your house is so special. Who wants a cookie cutter house. As usual Great video.
One of my favorite bits of advice in life comes from Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice: "Maria, this is your trunk, these are your gowns. You may arrange them in any way you wish. Lady Catherine will never know!"
PLANT! I love the idea of plant in front of the box. Too bad you cannot get it sideways - the aluminum aesthetic with the black wood is soooo cool! I would never have thought of something like that.
No one will always like everything you do, but we can always get ideas from it. I don't think I'd put a box like that at the end of my tub, but the double-door box you had in the workshop gave me a great idea for a medicine cabinet that really needs to be replaced. Putting towels on the door of the bathroom box would be very cool, especially against the black box. A monitor would fit well on the top, and the laptop or keyboard could go on a fold-down shelf on the wall next to the tub. But when everything's said and done, it's your house. We're just here for the amazing ride.
With a plant and candles, your faucet case will be great. There's something really powerful about being committed to your aesthetic. Few have the fortitude to do that.
I really enjoy your visits back home. Felix and you have such special chemistry .I'm not crazy about the project but I need to see it competed to really understand your vision.
Do your thing Laura. People for some reason online get too comfortable with their opinion. Its ok to have one but some take it too far. I've dealt with that for many years.
That's such a cool idea to add a piece of your past work and make something completely unique with a bathroom. Love it! Also so glad to hear Felix and see the team on the channel, but so glad you found a way to connect the dots between your home in Cologne and your home in LA, both kinds of content is still authentic and interesting ❤

Using the box is a genius move! It's something from your past, something you didn't use anymore (upcycling), it hides the pipes, it can be used as a table AND you can store towels and other things in it. I really like the look of it, too! 🤩
To me it look like the old travel cases people took on train or boat. I imagine it holding all the toiletry just getting back from a long trip around the world and placed in the bathroom ^^

I love the idea of the faucet coming out of a cabinet, if it was my house I'd probably try to find an old chest of drawers or a nightstand or something wood, but you're already using the aluminum boxes elsewhere, it totally goes with your aesthetic.
It isn't the design I would have found or settled on, but I don't watch to see things I would have done, I watch to see your perspective and your vision, and in that light I love it!
As someone who has a bunch of road cases in storage thanks for the inspiration. Some of mine are much larger and I'm thinking turn them into wardrobes By standing them on end and adding a hanger rod (which I also have a bunch of in storage). I love that you embrace the "imperfect".
It's nice to see the wood flooring going back in after so long. I remember when those old red-ish boards came up for the first time. That claw tub is pretty great, the flight case is pretty creative.
I love the idea of the road case by the bath tub. As a technical theater person, my first thought was to add a Fresnel lamp on a post in the corner to tie in with the case. I love it.
Love that you do what you want! I think the box is a very cool idea but it hides the tub. Maybe if it was lower and the faucet left from the top instead of the front? Like a sink faucet. As it is, it looks like a very nice sink cabinet 😊
I do think it will look amazing once completed. Also love the idea of being able to reuse something that might otherwise remain collecting dust or be thrown out. Its a unique solution for sure, but everything about the house seems to be unique and that's what makes it amazing :)
YOU like what YOU like, the rest can only say “it is not my cup of tea, but I hope YOU enjoy and like it”. And personally I enjoy it more to see you having fun and liking your projects than it has to be something I find pretty. The way you make something from nothing should be inspiring and motivating people to think out of the ‘box’…(fun intended 😂)
Your not doing a historic renovation your remodeling a house to what you picture in your mind.I love it. the bathroom tub is traditional with the Kampf touch. great Idea,

The edit Felix made when transitioning from Laura moving the flight case out of the shop and the up the stairs in the house was so perfect…
Leave me alone it's my house, exactly the right way to go. Great build and super cool ideas.
Laura can use my husband's saying, "Can't see it from my house" 😂 Just change it to "You can't see it from your house" 😂😂😂!
She lying to herself if she thinks that’s a good solution.

This is high praise. 🎉
"Leave me alone, it's my house!" -new name for this series. :)
Would be cool to write that in white letters on the empty side of the box
Yea way too many feel like they can tell people what to do with other peoples property.

nah, that's the most "peak Laura Kampf" design for a bathtub faucet i have seen. And it does make the door frame work in that context
I think a matching silver towel bar on the blank side is PERFECT
Exactly what I was going to say. And if it's still to black, paint it. Maybe a little lighter green than the walls to add contrasting colors.
Maybe it's the silver, that's making it look out of place, perhaps a bronze or brushed nickel? Or even copper, just a thought, it might not be the box but just the trim?
And some led track lights recessed just under that wood tabletop
I love that you never deny the crockedness of your house. It´s old , it doesn´t have to look straight everywhere! It tells a story
It would have been even more "Laura" if the crookedness had been also visible from the outside. 🤔
i missed Felix so much! love his little side commentary, gives Laura someone to think out loud with.

same, my only thought is that it looks too tall with respect to the bathtub. otherwise, it's a unique touch.
It's the imperfections that makes it so perfect, attracts attention , it's unique, it's beautiful , it's You.
Make the travel case in the bathroom a feature, everyone who stays in the house gets to add a travel sticker.
