- Takeover time… It’s me, Shaun, this week! Mindy has been so busy so when Rylan had a major tooth emergency we decided I should hop on a plane to make sure she was alright. I also chaperoned my 5th and final 6th grade field trip to the science museum. I’ve done it for all the kids so it was bittersweet. 🥲 COMMENT BELOW 👇 and tell your favorite field trip growing up!

A few weeks back Rylan called complaining about some tooth pain, and then kept calling, and KEPT CALLING! It was getting so bad she went 3 days without sleeping, so Mindy and I decided I should fly out there and see what was going on. Turns out she need 2 ROOT CANALS 😬 luckily we were able to get her in an emergency last minute appointment. The day after her root canal we had to move her out of the dorms and into her new apartment, thankfully Kamri was there to help us out, but man what a CRAZYYY few days I had in Utah!
Paisley and I had a fun few weeks together! Her and I got to go on a Daddy/Daughter ⛺camping trip with church! It was actually really great, and as much as I don’t like marshmallows, Paisley made me some killer s’mores! We also went on her 6th grade field trip together, I’ve chaperoned for all the other kids so I couldn’t pass up my final opportunity! This year we went to the Perot Natural Science Museum, it’s always so much fun when we go, there are tons of kids and family activities!
Honestly, we are just so excited that it’s about to be summer, all the kids are coming home. We are going to get some good quality time as a family and I personally can’t wait to hang out at the Lake House this summer with everyone!

As a kid I never understood why the other kids were so jealous that my Dad was a very active parent volunteer. Once I learned that not every has someone there for them every day I became very grateful. Some of my best and favorite memories with my dad. We also had the best parties in my grade because of him. My dad made sure he treated everyone in my class 🥹
Your family is awesome I love how you parent I also have two children with autism life is not easy
watching both parents be so invested in their kids lives is so...healing?? i personally never had that, so it makes my inner child happy ahaha

My favorite field trips I had growing included the 4th grade trip to St. Augustine, 5th grade trip to Kennedy Space Center, and 7th grade trips to Orlando Science Center and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Thank you Shaun for the best takeover video ever. 🎼

I know that this comment is unrelated to this vlog but I wanted to politely suggest (if it isn’t already the case) that maybe Daxton should be taken to a barber who can do Black hair? He is so handsome and such a wonderful young man, and he’s already at that age now where appearance has a lot to do with one’s self confidence and I think hair is a major part of that. I’ve been watching for years now, hoping that he’d get better haircuts that suit him and I think that solution is found in barbers who are experts at doing Black hair. I hope if you see this comment it’s simply taken as a polite/innocent suggestion just as it truly is. 😊 All the best to you all!

Make sure her hair is done. Seriously, it is part of her toilette and it looks like it is not properly oiled or combed. It is part of her confidence as well, especially when there aren't very many people who look like her around. Even when we started doing our own hair - which I am assuming is going on here- my mom would not letnus leave the house looking like our hair was dry and not combed.
