- Hi! so people who've been following me on my other social probably already know about how old this wip is haha, but yeah its Pretty old. I've worked on it on and off for the better part of a year? or less idk time passage is weird. But alas, a consequence of that is I Do Not Like how it's turned out. The style changes too much, lines are weird, my odysseus design has changed, etc. I've kind of lost motivation to finish it I suppose, so I've discontinued it :)
Maybe I'll redo it again one day, maybe not. Until then, to the graveyard it be. Here's what I had. kill your darlings and all that - Фільми й анімація

THE ACTION SCENES OH MY GOD- Choreographed and staged so well, I’M IN AWE-
IKR ITS SO GOOD
Seeing this and Remember Them, you give the cyclops a level of personality that I don’t see other animatics do. He actually kinda reminds me of his dad in terms of anger and being conniving lol
Ooo the opening scene with the ground breakingggg
I love the motion in this! Really shows how big Polyphemus is and how the strat is "be as annoying as possible"
This would be fun to see. Loved seeing the reflection of the cyclops on the sword given its the one life he needs to take in order to live. I especially liked where it switched to Odysseus, eurylocus, and polites when Odysseus said "fight fight fight ". They are practically the three musketeers amongst them but it is crazy that polites is least likely to fight given he accepts the world with open arms
Also it covered one of his eyes paralleling the cyclops like how he does in later songs like monster

Wow, my all-time favorite shot in this animatic
The animatic is incredibly chic, even if unfinished, it's still incredibly chic and beautiful. Smooth movements, evil Polyphemus and brave Odysseus in your legendary style - everything is fine. Thank you very much for this animatic, dear author 💕

even if this is a discontinued animatic i do love seeing the sketchwork and how you break anatomy and composition down into lines and shapes

I find it kinda funny how Ody was able to kill a literal baby (after crying out that he doesn’t want to kill the baby) but he can’t kill a full grown cyclops who killed/would kill his crew and his best friend. Make that make sense, Ody, I’m begging you

I mean, the way it's presented in the musical, it makes Odysseus look like an utterly pathetic coward who is only able to finish what he starts if the opponent has absolutely zero possibility of retribution
I think it shows more how reluctant he is to kill and only does so if he absolutely has to but his arc is supposed to be him learning to be ruthless @@hasturthekinginyellow5003

You are honestly so genius with your composition and framing like goddamn. Artistry 10/10. The scene where the blade is turned to show the reflection of Polyphemus with "Just one life to take" That is some brain goes BRRRRRR level of imagery. I'm happy you shared this despite being discontinued. Your process is so cool!

I love the way you framed the cyclops in the mouth of the cave.
Not only does it help show the size of the opponent for the fight, but it also shows the size of the obstacle he is in "Remember Me."
Logically, it made sense that Ody had to figure out how to move him as well as incapacitate him, but it was hard for me to visualize. Thanks for helping my poor brain.

omggggggg when I saw him lift his sword I absolutely pictured him turn it to reflect the cyclops and that's exactly what happened. I cant express how satisfactory that choreography was, and all you showed of the fight was great. nom nom nom thanks for the food
So sad that this wasn't finished. There's so few animatics for survive and I definitely like your style the most.

0:34 is rlly cool! I love the whole movement of ody bringing up his sword, and for just one life to take putting Polyphemus’ reflection was clever! Ik this is discontinued and old but rlly wolfy this is amazing-

Saw the notification and absolutely jumped onto this. I'm sad it's discontinued, but it'd be awesome to see the finished version! These videos have sort of become the frame of reference for whenever I listen to this set of songs. 😅
This Musicale needs a full budget movie adaptation.
I know it would be hard with music copyrights and stuff.
But it really needs one.

i don't know why but odysseus saying "600 lives at stake, it's just one life to take, and when we kill him, then our journey's over" feels both like a ralley for his men and also a way to ease his own guilt
My father used to tell me odyssey as a bedtime story, seeing this makes me so emotional (and its freaking epic bro wtf it's sooooo good)

Aw man, I totally get the artist perspective of having drawn in so much experience and skill that you're no longer quite as satisfied with it, but hot DAMN it really is so chilling!! The loose line work kind of adds to it, too. It just evokes so much emotion and desperation. Seriously, lovely work as always.

Hey, there are still some good moments in here! However, it's good to let something go once you lose all motivation. Your design for Polites is still my favorite, and if you ever do revisit this song, I look forward to seeing how you portray his death.

Ahh as sad as I am this likely won't be finished; your style still shines through so beautifully. You're excellent with framing and little details- things like Odysseus turning the sword to show the cyclops or the way its pupil dilates.
I really hope you return to it one day and have another crack at it but I'm so excited for whatever you release in the future; especially with the Circe saga so close at hand! ❤

The way I gasped when I saw this uploaded! It was so perfect how you highlighted Odysseus, Eurylochus & Polites on the first "Fight! Fight! Fight!" Oh my goodness, if you ever finish this, I would love to see the fight scene more fleshed out. It looks so dynamic and riveting, even as is. Wow!!
