Nothing makes me feel better about my playthroughs than when I see Nilaus also arriving on a planet with a grand plan involving huge blueprints, only to get completely sidetracked by a single resource bottleneck :D
Every time you or JD talks about BABs I always think about Base Attack Bonus from various d20 games... And then I hear you start "base attack.." I don't know if you had the same slip up, but I caught that and was pleased!
Hi Nilaus ! Really love your video :) Maybe you can try adding BAB to your planetary signal tower blueprint. Did that in my game (derived from your blueprint, it's not pretty but efficient) so every BAB is in range of the next and they cover all the solar panel rings. This way, the whole blueprint build itself and you gain sooo much time. It also help building future blueprint without having to put BAB each time (and you can always remove them if needed). Anyway, keep having fun and teaching us the efficient way
After you build your assault base, why not use a global BP to stamp down BABs and signal towers everywhere at once? They'd just replicate across the planet and wipe out everything in just a couple minutes. It should work great on ice and lava planets.
@@rodbonner7370 Lava and Ice planets should be fine. He'd just need to have enough buildings that there are multiple pathways to each one, that way if a few don't place, it will come from another direction. Even if it misses a few, it should kill 90% of the hives.
Hi Nilaus, about complaints you are receiving on you taking the fun out of it, I think viewers don't realise how long you've been playing the game, and the blueprints are all your creations. If viewers are using your blueprints without trying at least once themselves, then yes they are taking out the fun for themselves. The solution is to simply not use your blueprints, and try it themselves TLDR Don't worry about those complaints Nilaus, and viewers, just don't use the blueprints
I'm pretty positive for full protection of all buildings built at all heights requires much more shield generators. When you have so few the shield becomes really low to the ground.
@@Waggabagaboo shield generators only protect your planet from space attacks. They don't prevent any spread of dark fog. At least from what I've heard and my experience.
Btw for instance, I typically have around 18 shield generators. So 16 spread out on each side of the equator, basically on the edge of the largest most normal square grid, 8 on each side, and 2 more on each pole, makes my planet pretty much fully protected at the maximum altitude all the way around. 99%+ protection as the stat.
Appreciate your videos, It's fun to follow along sometimes (sort of a connect-the-dots approach is fun) but sometimes you've got to draw outside the lines. The order in the chaos provided by your blueprints let me really go off the map/outside the lines. Your videos make the game have more order. Thank you.
If you take out the relay stations like that first, you can take out the rest with just your ground units. I was able to do that fairly easily. No missile turrets needed. I have 4 slots unlocked for the ground units.
appreciate all that you do and liking the dyson sphere program videos, could you do a quick guide on how to import the dyson sphere designs you share. keep up the great work
8:50 well, I don't have any real problem clearing unpowered level 30 bases without any prep at this tech, just four fleets of drones and antimatter capsules. Maybe a tiny outpost with a dozen or two laser turrets to retreat to.
I await the day when Nilaus makes a Planetary Sector blueprint that takes in ores and makes Iron, Copper and Magnets. :) Then belts the lot directly into another Planetary Sector blueprint that makes Electric Motors, Electromagnetic Turbines, and Super-Magnetic Rings. ;)
I wonder if you could make a blueprint which covers a planet in BABs and towers, then just plonk it down after setting up your equator base and see all the bases fall.
Is there a reason you put your receiving stations on remote supply? For my receiving stations I usually go remote storage, so they don't waste energy sending stuff somewhere. Like, dedicated senders, dedicated receivers.
hi Nilaus, love your videos! one question: why are you not upgrading the ressource gather rate so you also use less ressources? I think that is super important when you play on 0.5 ressources, no?
Soil pile used to be fairly easy - make a blueprint with dots of belts in a grid. Stamps down almost anywhere, doesn’t attempt to fill seas/lava/holes, deconstruct and place down again elsewhere.
@@Mirality yeah that was my point that you get it potentially way easier now with the dark fog, assuming you are either mining it or you have it on the highest difficulty.
Right? I mean i am not playing on full max settings, but it just seems that basically once you can supply enough power to systems and have a few upgrades you can wipe them off the planets easily, put up and sustain shields to stop them from coming back and starve the hives... You may eventually just have to deal with some space attacks here or there until the hive is basically dead but really not bad at all...
Yeah it's similar though to Factorio. In Factorio Deathworld, the real problem is the beginning. If you get past that and get good defenses, then it's kinda trivial. seems the same here with the Dark Fog. I'm waiting to see where they go with it though. Eagerly awaiting some news about the future vision.
For me max difficulty took around 5 hours to clear my starting planet. Once the home planet is cleared you pretty much have full control over your progress. While I do agree they become easy at some point, that point is so much later in the game and so much harder to fight than normal. It gives a reason to use better ammo types. It gives a problem of not being able to get titanium as early, unless you farm I think? For me I cleared my start world so I couldn't farm, so I had to find a way to land on a planet and clear it with just the first 2 matrix tiers unlocked. I don't think much more difficulty is possible, except maybe scaling their health later in the game.
I like those builds other than the planetary logistics. I'd have interstellar hubs for each build so it just exports directly. Uses more power but if you were to up your deterium output to Like 40 fractionators worth at least and a good 100 at least assemblers for rods before going galactic that solves it.
He does have some blueprints with ILS if you want, but I think i agree that it makes more sense to have all your ILS in one place so you can easily see what each planet is importjng/exporting, and you can keep all your warpers in one place. It also helps you ensure that some resources are only used locally, when you don't want to waste time shipping it around, since it's difficult to limit logistics routes.
I don't have unipolar magnets. This requires farming lvl 24+ bases or taking over the most heavily infected system. In the very very late game I may use them, but not now
I wouldnt say O type are the best... In my seeds, the Blue Giants have pretty much the same luminosity, but because they allow much larger shperes are actually better... Not sure if the O are the best in your seed because maybe your giants are weak or something...
I've seen blue giants that have higher luminosity. Not much higher though. But they can have more than an O-type. I've also seen in the new game star map where Blue giants count in the O-Type number. O Types are better though in my opinion as they have more planets and resources available to them.
@@michaelhanson5773Interesting, I've not seen a blue giant have more than an O type. typically, the O type has 6 or so planets. At most I've seen 3 planets on a Blue Giant, one of which being a Gas/Ice Giant.
